Sophia's First day of Kindergarten

You know you're a teacher when.... it takes you three weeks to download the photos of your child's first day in the grade you teach. Things are finally slowing down. Ahhhh... my sweet Sophia's first day of school. She is LOVING it, friends, fun and the best part is I get to see her all through the day and sneak those hugs in. Here's some photos of the day.

Mason starts 3rd Grade...3rd Grade!!

Mason was REALLY excited to start school this year. He adores his teacher, he wanted to start practicing multiplication during summer vacation, and he has several good friends in his class this year. It seems like just yesterday he was starting Kindergarten. Watching my kids grow up has it's ups and downs, mostly it just seems to go so darn fast. Here's some pics of his first day. Bird encounter- Tracy aviary

Mason and I went to the aviary in may, and we went too late to feed these Amazonian birds. He's been asking to go back all summer. The bird experience was a lot of fun. They give you small bits of fresh apple in your hands and the birds LOVE it. We will do it again for certain.

Sophia's Dance Recital 2012

Sophia took two dance classes this year. She had ballet and jazz numbers in the recital this year. She really enjoyed both classes, but liked the challenge of the faster moving jazz number.

Tae Kwon Do Kids

The kids had their belt tests for Tae Kwon Do in June. The whole thing is in Korean, so it seemed like they did great! They both moved up the ranks, and are having fun with Master Don. :)

Spring Soccer re-cap

I didn't take pictures at every game, but we did bring the camera a few times throughout the season. Here's a recap I like to call- Spring Soccer 2012.

Their field is too big.

Mason's coaches did this really cool thing: after every game each player was awarded a patch. The patches were for "defense", "super-hustle", "spacing", "passing" etc. The last game he gave them each the "Team work" gold star. It was really a positive way to get the kids excited about the fundamentals.
