Random Life

Here's some random pictures.  Some from a while back and some the other day.
He just HAD to try out this Thomas car even though it was in a box still.
Thanks for the T-Ball set for his birthday Grandma and Grandpa!  We use it at parks a lot!
I think this was Thanksgiving baking!  Love this one!
We were at Big Lots and found Caleb's favorite!  Frosty!!!  The store was pretty quiet so we decided to try them all out at the same time!  Caleb was enchanted by so may of his heroes dancing and singing his favorite song of the season at the same time!  I needed a video!
Ever since playing the picture scavenger hung, Caleb thinks that Target is a playground of fun! :)  He didn't want to participate in the picture where they wore these jackets and hats, so a few weeks later he lead me to the exact spot and wanted to get a picture too!
Hanging out with Jackson on a Sunday afternoon.  We usually go outside but this day was raining so we played inside.
And lastly, Caleb and I went to get the mail the other day and surprisingly got caught in a hail storm!  So random and funny!  Thunder and everything.  Caleb loved it...since I loved it! :)  It lasted maybe ten minutes and passed over.  I tried to capture some of the beauty afterwards, but pictures never quite do justice to reality.
That's all. :)

Valentines Date with Zoe

Every Valentines Day I find myself thinking about how I can give love to someone who might be in need of some extra.  I had several ideas this year, but the person I felt God lead me to was my 6th grade niece, Zoe.  I just know how tough that age can be when guys start to stand out more and then....Valentines Day comes!  It didn't work out on the actual day, since I told her to invite her good friends, who were already busy.  So we tried again, and ended up just taking one other friend, Anna.
Caleb joined us since Matt was at work, but he had zero complaints about it!
We went to a dessert diner in Sacramento which was YUM!!!!
I couldn't resist a picture with all the black and white! Caleb loves his cousin!
We had more time, so we went on a walk to a park where the girls practiced cart-wheels and such, and Caleb worked on his summersault form! :)
 Just my cute boy!
We tried some selfies but it didn't work out since it was so bright out!
Before we dropped the girls off at youth group, we stopped at another park to swing and mess around for a bit.  It was a nice afternoon together.  I love you Zoe!

Lodi Day

Well, I bought a Groupon deal a few months back to a specific restaurant for take-out only, since my plan was to pick up some favorite food for a specific friend who was having a hard time.  I was excited and ready to go until I realized it was only for the restaurant in Lodi and NOT Folsom!  Hmm, what to do?  I tried selling it on Facebook.  No takers.  And then a couple weeks ago Lodi happened to be the butt of a joke...and in church of all places.  I realized then that we should just make a family event of it and use the deal ourselves. :)  SO, last Saturday, Matt was off and we headed to LODI, CA!
I've realized that I don't have nearly enough pictures of me and Caleb.  Crazy, since we seem to spend almost every waking hour together.  I just have to ask people more often to help out.  I remembered and so here's a few.  I couldn't choose cuz Caleb was being too cute!
 I LOVE MY SWEET BOY!
After the drive and a little nap, we found a park by a little lake and headed outside for some sunshine!
I think that this bike is the best gift he's ever gotten...and perhaps ever will get! :)  Worth EVERY cent.  Thanks Mom and Dad! :)
The lake looked pretty from far away but the closer we got, the more we started to see why Lodi isn't the most sought after place to spend a day.  The entire "beach" area was littered with mostly glass and other random junk.  The water looked horrible as well.  Yuk. We still hung around a bit to throw sticks and rocks.
 Can you spot Caleb?:)
I can't get enough of beautiful clouds!
 "Look what I got Mom!"
Yep, it's perfect for throwing in the water!
I kept moving further away to stay in the sun! :)  Can you see Matt and Caleb?
There was definite beauty around, but there was also the smell of drugs here and there, a cop who drove by every ten minutes (hmm), people "cruising" through the parking lot (pretty funny actually since it was just a small town and one of the cars had a song blasting that sounded like Hispanic Polka!), and as we were leaving, two cops were stopped nearby talking to a lady outside of her house.  Yeah, I don't think we'll be back to visit again just for fun.
We next drove through the old town to be sure we weren't missing anything.  There was a statue of two people holding wine glasses, and two pretty cool archways over the streets, but only a few nice looking restaurants or shops.  Half the building were empty.  Nope, nothing worth getting out for.  Except this GIANT GUMBALL MACHINE!!!! It was in the waiting area while getting our food.
And we found just enough money in my bag to get one!  Caleb's first experience with gum! Of course he had to eat dinner first. :)
Before our "picnic in the van," we stopped at Walmart for a few things and Caleb tried out a few rides. His imagination is so active that he's never complained about not actually putting money in so they move.
We parked at the edge of town facing a field with the sun going down, and all climbed into the back of the van!  The food was AMAZING!!!
Finally, gum time! He was really confused why he needed to spit it out and when to do it.
He was quite satisfied with the experience!
Take us home Caleb!!!  Bye for now, Lodi.....and maybe forever!

Valentines Day

Last year I bought these great heart cookie cutters, and luckily, I happened upon them right before Valentines week this year!
Hmm, what can we do with these????
The night before we came up with lots of fun ideas to make Valentines day special and fun!
Yum...breakfast!  Well, I quickly figured out that I needed to spray the cutters before adding the batter. After a few more fails, I think I figured it out by the last pancake, which still turned out too think.  Oh well, it was fun.
Had to add some left over chocolate chips!
And a heart pbj sandwich for lunch!
I think these were Caleb's favorite of all..since we're still making them today!
Can you guess what MY favorites were!?
We had Oma over for dinner and afterwards had a spur of the moment science experiment!
Happy Valentines Day!
