Seven mos. prego
Eight mos.

Meet our newest addition, Trenton George Huefner!!! Born on Monday, March 14 at 9:52am. He is 7 lbs 15oz. and 20.5 inches of sweet goodness! He is absolutely darling and the joy of our little family.
Here is how it all went down:
In the beginning of my pregnancy I went to the same dr. that delivered Delanie. He gave me the due date of March 28th. Then due to insurance reasons I changed to another dr. who with the ultrasound showed this baby is due around the 23rd, but he still wanted to keep my due date as the 28th so I didn't get my hopes up. I still was thinking this baby would come around the 23rd. :)
So, last Sunday we had a normal day. We went to church, and everyone kept saying to me how much longer, any day now, and why are you still here. The part that was funny to me was two other girls in my ward were due any day too but the focus was still on me. (Granted I do carry babies very low and it probably looked like this baby was going to fall out any time).
Playing at home on the day my water broke

We went to my parents for dinner and to get a blessing from Matt and my dad. Before leaving to go home I said to them, "You better take one last look at me, you will probably never see me pregnant again." I said that knowing we would probably not go to their house again before the baby would come. We left for home, arrived around 10:45, got our sleeping kids in bed and Matt and I laid down to watch one of our favorite shows. Towards the end I was struggling to stay awake, then at 11:30 I felt this slight pop sensation which woke me right up. I instantly said, "Matt, I think my water just broke." He didn't hear me, so instead of freaking him out I decieded to get up, go to the bathroom and check it out myself. I was pretty sure I had, told Matt and by this time my whole body was shaking, which like I said, instantly freaks Matt out. :) "Who should we call, where is the stuff, what should we do," he kept saying. While I was in the bathroom trying to mentally take it all in, he was on the computer googling "How do you know if your water has broke" and would come in to share his new found knowledge. We called my parents, called my friend Brandi over to stay with the kids and left for the hospital. I was excited, nervous and sad all at the same time. Sad because this is probably our last child and to know my pregnancy was all coming to an end made me a little sad and yet thrilled to have the pain of this basketball out of me. :)
We got to the hospital, it took them a while to confirm my water did break then around 1am was admitted to have this baby! They put me on pitocin to help my contractions along, by 3:30 I was contracting every 3 mins, by 4:30 I asked for an epidural, by 5:30 I was drugged and comfortable, and by 7:30 I was at a plus 10 ready to go! The nurse called the dr. he was in another surgery and said he would be there in a half hour. The nurse said, that usually means 15-20 mins with him, so they said to me don't move, don't sneeze or cough. Well two hours later, (the surgery the dr. was doing became complicated) Dr. Van Geem came in and with two contractions little Trenton was born!

Whether this was my first or fourth delivery, it is always so amazing. Such a wonderful gift our Heavenly Father has given us. The delivery is such a neat, spiritual experience bringing this little perfect spirit to this world and then to be trusted to raise these sweet angels. AMAZING! He is perfect in every way. He has blonde hair, dimples just like the rest of the kids, the boys in the family have a slightly bent pinky finger, and he has that too! (Tyler was so excited about that). Ten fingers, ten toes...PERFECT! When he was first born both Matt and I could not figure out who he looked like. I still don't know who he looks like, but I do think he looks like he belongs to our family. :)
We did not have a name set when he was born. We had it down to three names, and Brinley would always throw her vote in, which was not one of the three, Cooper. That was the name she wanted. (But in the beginning when talking about that name, she would say Cooper the Pooper, and that completely turned me off). With no name set, when he was born he came out face up so he had a bruised forehead and a thick red line down his nose so Matt said, for now let's call him Tanto. :) Trenton was a name Matt has liked for years, and Tyler loved it too. George is after Matt's dad. After a few days of throwing around my favorite names and his, this was it!
Trenton, like Delanie was jaundice and needed to have phototherapy in the incubator for the first three days, which stinks. It stinks because you wait so long to see him, hold him and love him, and you can't because they need to be under the lights as much as possible. (I can't really complain though because their are so many babies that have much more serious problems than jaundice). He even had to continue his phototherapy at home.

We were so excited to come home and to see the kids reactions to the baby in the house. At the hospital, they were all very excited to see him and happy to bring their new brother some things like flowers and pictures and cards they wrote for him. Delanie was clapping her hands saying "Baby Boy, Baby Boy." So when we got home, we rang the doorbell and called out, "special delivery," they screamed and opened the door. They were bouncing around with excitement, and again Delanie kept saying while clapping her hands, baby boy then put her arms out to hold him. She was a bit rough with him, but so cute. She was pointing out all his features, and then she was surprised when she heard some rumbling below and said, "baby boy pooped," and laughed. We all laughed, and the look on her face was priceless.

We have so enjoyed every second with him. We cannot give him enough kisses and love. Tyler LOVES having a little brother. He said, "you should see what I have written in my spider man notebook. I always thought of daddy as my brother cuz I didn't have one, and now I do! I am so happy." He loves that they have some of the same features like the dimples, and the bent pinky. And Brinley is an incredible helper. She holds him perfectly, she is very calm and gentle with him. Always wants to hold him, and tries to keep him happy when he cries. I have loved having her around because she is a huge help to me and she loves doing it. Delanie may need some training on being more gentle, but she sure does love him too and she looks like a TANK next to him.
Our cup runeth over. We are truly overjoyed with this new addition and look forward to the many memories to come with him in our family.
The day we came home from the hospital.
