This is Belle...

This is Belle,
Belle the Beagle
She is my dog
She is spotty and has soft floppy ears
and a cute wet nose
She loves to jump up and give loves
and she hugs you real tight
she is also a cuddler!
(this is her jumping up to give loves
she loves to put her paws on your face to kiss)
She loves to give kisses
and play fetch with balls
(especially the Christmas tree balls)
She also loves to chew...
on everything!
No matter how many toys we
have out for her
if we leave something of ours out
it's guaranteed to be chewed up!
(she is a puppy after all)
mishaps happen...
but...
Meagan came home from school on Friday
to see her favorite baby doll on the floor...
attacked by Bell the Beagle...
the pictures are graphic
limbs and digits are missing
innards were removed and eaten
...
...
...
...
...

After seeing her precious baby doll
mutilated on the floor
Meag went after Belle the Beagle...
a chase ensued
and without Matt there to stop it
the kicking might have gone on forever!
all Matt heard was
"MY BABY!! BELLE GOT MY BABY!
I'M GONNA GET HER!
COME HERE BELLE,
DON'T! EVER! TOUCH! MY!
BABY!!!!!"
All screamed while on the foot chase!
A decision had to be made
keep the dog
or give her away...
We decided to keep her and
blame it on her puppy ways!
Phew. I really love my puppy!
The baby was properly buried,
without Meagans knowledge,
in the trash receptacle.
Lets hope the girls learned
a lesson. Never leave out
you favorite things
while Bell the Beagle is about!
(and I'm sure Belle learned to stay
out of Meagans way when she's mad!)

Family Pictures 2013

It was that time again, family pictures.  (insert matts groan here)  I try to do nice big ones every two years, and always outside because it's just more fun and pretty outside!  I was not disappointed with these pics my dear friend Ginnie took, she is truly a talented woman.  We took these in downtown Des Moines, just walked around and she snapped away, it was such a fun day!  By the end of the 1 1/2 hour shoot, Meag was done and so was Matt, but Sam could have posed for hours, silly girl!  I am not a scrap booker, or even a photo book maker, I just want to have pictures for my girls to look back on and see their growth and that of our family, it's important to me.

These girls have the best daddy ever, he is so wonderful to them, silly and fun, and I can tell you, they absolutely adore him, which warms my heart!
for this pic, I had pricklies stuck in my butt!  it was painful but worth it, Sams laughing because I'm complaining about how bad my toosh hurts, damn Iowa pricklies!!

this old brick building had this beautiful brick we had to take pics in front of it

love my beautiful girls

best hubby in the world, going on 13 years with this guy

i love this one of meagan, it shows her personality to a tee, bubbly little firecracker that she is!

Samantha loves the camera, she was posing everywhere and asking ginnie to take pictures of her!

Hello, let me introduce you to Samantha the model!  what the heck!  the camera loves this kid!  and this is her personality, she is sweet and quiet, thoughtful, what an angel

So these are our family pics, it will take me two years to convince Matt to do more, and when that time comes, they will be tweens!!!  aaaahhhhhh

A Sunday Outing

Today we went to John Waynes Birthplace and visited a bridge in the Bridges of Madison county!
What a beautiful State I live in, I love Iowa!
Of course we had to go with our good friends the Morris Family and we had such a good time enjoying each others company.  We visited Johns home, then checked out the coolest most divey Antique shop where I wanted to buy all the silver jewelry there, but held myself back, then off to a tiny ice cream shop for ice cream and french fries, then off to see the bridge and this old Stone school house...I couldn't think of a better way to spend our Sunday!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

I recently had a friend mention that I was a slacker in my blog, so I decided to humor him, and update it.  This is going to be a long post, mostly pictures with a bit of explanation.  I am just going to go back through the summer, not 2 years worth!

At the end of the school year this year I decided to quit my job to be home with the girls.  Hardest decision of my life, because I loved my job so much, but easiest because my family comes first!  Matt had gotten on Waukee Fire Dept full time and his hours with that job (24/48s) and his two other PT fire jobs were crazy and it was just getting too hard to work around his schedule and juggle the kiddos between us both.  This is the first summer I have been home in 5 years, I was a little nervous, but it turned out to be such a fun summer.  We did so much!  I'm so grateful I have been able to do this, Sam and Meag loved having me home, and their attitudes have been better!  We spent at least one day a week at a park with friends, went swimming a lot, rode our bikes all over, and just had a good time!
Now that school has started (thank the gods!) I have been enjoying my personal time, a little too much I think!  I have volunteered for being a classroom helper for both kids classrooms, and hope that will keep me somewhat busy.  I have a lot of projects I want to get done around here, painting and such, and cant wait to get those started!

My baby turned 8 this year!  She is such a beautiful spunky girl and we are so proud of her!
I had a very talented friend take some photos of the girls for the occasion... and because they were overdue for a photo shoot!

And some family pictures taken a couple years ago by another talented friend of mine.  We will be getting more family pictures taken very soon here, and I will post those as soon as I can.

Sisters are the best

My beauties at the daddy daughter dance this year!  They had such a great time, and had the best date in the house!

Goofing around

Freezing our buts off at Meagans softball game!  Our spring this year was unseasonably cool...bbrrrr
She played on a great team, got to try out all the positions, and found something she loves!

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit for Meagans baptism, and the kids had such a good time with them!  Whats monopoly without bikini's on?!  We talked dad into his first pedicure and he loved it!

Little friends girls legos are a huge hit at this house!  Especially with Meagan.  The girls love to put them together and tear them apart.

Samantha has found a sport that she absolutely loves!  Soccer!  (my least favorite)  But I am really enjoying watching her play and grow, she loves to play goalie!

Tornado storm fun in the bathtub with iPads.  On a side note, it was just a bad rain and wind storm, they were being dramatic!  I couldn't find them and was looking all over for them, when I heard their voices coming from the bathroom, and this is what I found!  Too funny

Loves and cuddles with daddy

Brenton Arboretum, our first week of summer.  Beautiful and green and peaceful!

Bathing beauties, they have a bucket of water in between them and are lobbing water bombs and the neighbor boys!

Summer is not all fun and games at our house, this mean momma made them do workbooks!  As you can see, they loved it!  hahaha

Whats summer without a trip or twenty to the ice cream shoppe

Their fancy lemonade stand that they nagged daddy to build and only used it once!  There's always next summer...

We spent a lot of time at the free splash pads around town with friends
good times!

Sam chillin on the couch with belle the beagle!

Fun times at the fire station with our good friends Hunter and Tanner

Waukee had movie in the park twice this summer and we went.  It was super fun, but freaking freezing for summer in Iowa!  Wreck it Ralph and Madagascar 3

Valley view aquatic center with friends
we spent lots of time with friends this summer!

Kansas City with my besties (minus a few)  Love my girlfriends!!!

Best game of the summer, Meagan and Sam killed it!

Meagans favorite spot to play her iPad!  She's a weirdo!  But she's my weirdo!

Samantha turned 10 this year!!  I feel so old! She is so sweet natured and such an old soul.  She makes me smile!  She had a fun sleepover with Anali  and had a great day getting her ears pierced for the second time, pedi's, lunch and a movie!  She requested daddy make cinnamon sugar crepes for her birthday breakfast.

Last "bonfire" of the summer!  Had to have friends come celebrate school starting!  Smores, yummy!

First day of 5th grade and 3rd grade

And this marks the end of our summer of fun 2013!
