Time Flys

So time really flew by for our family.  I gave birth and then the next week we moved into a 4 bedroom house (so grateful for all the extra space).  My brother-in-law, Bradley, and father-in-law, Mark, were beyond amazing in helping us out.  When it comes down to it they packed up about 3/4 of our apartment, cleaned it, and moved us into our new home.  I am beyond grateful for all of their sacrifice and help.  I couldn't do much because I JUST had a baby and Aaron was in school so he couldn't do a whole lot either.  They were our angels.

We had a baby, moved, had to help our oldest adjust to a new Kindergarten class, unpack, and then I started babysitting again when Ryan was 3 weeks.  Needless to say we still have boxes to unpack.  My life is so much busier now than before Ryan came, hence I have not made a single posting on my blog...sorry extended family.

So here is a "dump" of pictures showing Ryan growing up these last 8 months.

Yes our little baby is now 8 months old...perhaps my next post will show how he looks now.

Ryan's Arrival

Boy does "Time Fly".  It is hard to believe this little huddle of joy came into our family about 8 months ago.  We sure do love little Ryan (as you can tell by all the pictures).  We were lucky to not have any jealousy issues with the siblings.  Tucker and Ethan were super excited to have a new baby brother in the house.

Don't you love how he is "checking him out"?!

Super excited to meet baby brother Ryan!!

Nana was awesome and came the week of my due date (the other two boys came 1.5 weeks early).  It was so nice having her at our home to take care of the older boys.  It made my labor/delivery and hospital stay so much easier because I knew my boys were taken care of.
A BIG thanks to Nana for all she did.

Ethan's turn to inspect the baby.

It seems silly to update on the birth of Ryan when he is so old, but it is important and needs to be done.  It would seem wrong to just skip it.  After 1.5 weeks of having contractions 6-12 hours a day, my husband was going crazy not knowing when our baby was coming.  I was exhausted by the end of most days, but I was happy and comfortable to wait until baby Ryan decided to come out.  With a few days before my due date I was dilated to 5cm and it was making my husband nervous that he would miss the delivery because once I hit 7cm the baby is out in about 30 minutes.  So we called my amazing Doctor and she agreed to break my water.  Nothing really happened the first 4 hours after breaking my water, but once the 4th hour came it all went fast.  I was only in labor for 3.5 hours and I did NOT have to be put on "the pit".  I was able to keep my goal of going completely NATURAL...that's right.  I did it without any pain killers what so ever.  I am pretty proud of myself for keeping that goal.  This birthing experience was by far my favorite.  I didn't have to be put on "the pit" and the whole time it was quiet and peaceful.  The only people who entered my room was one nurse and my doctor.  They let me hold Ryan immediately and for a long time (probably about 10 minutes).  It was so wonderful.

Baby Update

So do you remember that I said I would post a picture of the baby at 7 months in the womb? Well, life flew by in a flash and I kind of forgot about it.  I took this picture three days into my 8th month of pregnancy.  It's close enough right? It just means it is a very FULL 7 months. :)

Well I am trying to be better at the pictures and today I had Aaron take a couple.  I am now in my last week of my 8th month, 35 weeks.  I really freaked out Aaron today when I mentioned that we only have 5 more weeks until this baby is "full term".  Both of our older boys came 1 1/2 weeks early, so if this baby follows his older brothers this baby could be here in 3 1/2 weeks.  Aaron pointed out that in only 2 weeks it is the "safe" zone for him to come, 37 weeks.  This pregnancy has flown by for both of us.  Me and baby at 8 months, 35 weeks-

Last week we had a "growth ultrasound" of our little baby boy.  We are happy to report that everything looks great and right on schedule; however, lets hope their prediction that he will be about 8lbs is incorrect.  Jumping from a 6lb 9oz baby to an 8 pounder will not be much fun.  Their prediction is 8lbs +/- 12oz.  I don't know about you, but that is a big +/- margin to me.  Lets hope it is -12oz. :)  The ultrasound was really fun because he is so developed now.  We got to watch him suck and he licked his knee.  It was really funny.  Here is a picture of his face and his foot from the ultrasound.
Do you see his cute little turned up nose and his full lips?  I think he is going to look like Aaron, just like my other boys.
