Small Pics, Big Boys

I am getting so aggravated at the small pictures and I can't fix it!! It's driving me nuts. I finally find some time to blog and Blogger won't cooperate! Anyways, we are having so much fun with the boys lately. Hudson is talking all the time...repeating every single thing that comes out of our mouths. Jackson is like having a little adult around...he helps me all the time and knows about everything! We have the best conversations now. We decided to move the boys into the same room for sleeping and making what used to be Jackson's bedroom into the playroom. The toys were taking over the house, so this was our plan to contain the toys to the back of the house. And, the boys are so excited to sleep in the same room! Hudson's transition into a "big boy" was just as everything has been with Huddy...easy, peasy. Their new room is Batman themed (will post pics soon) and they got new Batman pjs to wear on their first night. Hudson has decided that he is ready to start using the potty as well. No pressure...we weren't even planning to start trying that for a while. But, Hudson is always watching Jackson do it and just started going to the bathroom and pulling his pants down and saying "I pee-pee"...and that he did! It's definitely not constant, but at least he's interested! I'll take that! Jace is getting so big too! We got to babysit him while Ash and Steven went out the other night and we had so much fun. Jackson was so much help and loved playing with Jace. Jace, however, didn't want to play with anyone but Uncle Nate.

Okay, I am not sure what is going on with the size of these pictures. I choose the same size as always! Oh well.

So, we took these pictures at the same time a few Sundays ago. Jackson is in one room and Hudson is in the other. I just think they are so indicative of their personalities and their usual behavior at any given moment. Jackson is usually behaving like a ninja-superhero of some kind and Hudson is well...chillin.

Who Says it Never Snows in Houston??

I keep thinking about how absurd we all acted over the snow. It's not that we've never seen snow before, but DUDE, seeing snow in Houston is a big deal! The boys were so excited. Jackson played so hard that he fell asleep at 7:30pm (and Jackson is a night owl). He was either exhausted or poisoned from the amount of snow he ate. He acted like the ground was his own personal snowcone. I gave up on telling him it was dirty and let me go to town...and, of course, whatever Jackson does, Hudson does, so both boys were chowing on the snow for 2 days.
(I have no idea why this pics are small...)
Here's Jackson's mini snowman. Jackson giving Mini Frosty a kiss...

Big Frosty across the street. As you can see it took all the snow in their yard. This guy last until Sunday afternoon though.
The boys finally making their escape into the snow.

Thanksgiving

Yes, I know it's December 15th and I am WAY behind and that I never even posted Halloween pics. Sorry. I stink. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun this year. We spent the day at my Aunt Kay and Uncle Clint's house in Conroe (the food was amazing!) and then headed to Nate's mom's house to have TG with his family. Ben, Jenni, & Jovi were in town from New Mexico, so I finally got to meet my niece! She is almost 1!! We all loved her...she is sooo sweet. We can't wait to see her again in January! Oh, and we enjoyed seeing Jovi's parents too. :) And, I know Patti loved having all her kids and grandkids in one place! This has been a tough year, but we still had so much to be thankful for...

(I stole these pics from Jenni's blog!! I am terrible about taking pictures)

Grandpa & Grandma McCarty Do Houston

The week before last Nathan's dad and step-mom left in the middle of a beautiful Utah Autumn and flew into the disgusting Houston humidity...fortunately towards the end of their trip, we had a couple of good weather days. Grandma McCarty was in the Houston Quilt Show at the George R. Brown where her quilt was one of 8 finalists...out of hundreds of quilts from around the WORLD. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of it, because it was truly amazing. I didn't even know that quilts could look like this! I can assure you that this ain't your grandma's quilt...it's Jackson and Hudson's grandma's quilt, but not your's! Ha. Okay, that was LAME. Anyways, she also won the viewer's choice award for her quilt. She is seriously famous amongst the quilting community. But, we were so happy that they got to visit. Nathan and his dad took the boys to the zoo on Friday and we all went to the quilt show, lunch, and Discovery Green Park on Saturday. It was really nice to spend some time with them and the boys had a great time. We can't wait until next year's quilt show!

Yeah, Baby. 4 YEARS OLD!

I can't believe it. Seriously. 4 years?? I can still remember every single detail of that day. Jackson has asked to hear the story at least 20 times since his birthday...trust me...I leave out a few parts...okay, A LOT of parts. But, he gets the gist of it...it was one of the 2 best days of mommy and daddy's lives. He can't get enough. The part that I have trouble with is "but, how did I even get in your tummy?"

He is so grown up all of a sudden...so sweet, understanding, imaginative, inquisitive, helpful, and HOLY SHIT, my kid is a genious. Okay, so maybe you all think that, but mine really is. :) I am so proud of him and am so blessed to have him as my son. Every morning he wakes up as I am getting ready for work and walks into the bathroom with his hair sticking up, holding his blanket and crawls into my lap and makes my every day worthwhile. Happy Birthday, Baby Boy. It just keeps getting better.

Jackson's Birthday Party

JUMPIN JACKS!!

The Old River Lane Crew Pawpaw and the boys...

Jackson and his BFF, Gabriel and his cuz, Hannah.

Jackson and his school Buddy, Sean.
I know there's very few pics, but I didn't bring the right camera...I don't know...long story!

Hannah's Birthday!

Jackson and Hudson's cousin, Hannah had her birthday party the day before Jackson's this year. She turned 5 years old!! It was so cute to watch her play with all her girls. They would all hold hands and go down the slide together. But, she still took the time to play with Jackson and Huddy. They had a blast.
I love this picture. Jackson helping out his brother...

HEEEEELP!
The Birthday Girl...always stylin'.

OKAY, OKAY...

So, I suck at blogging now. But, in my defense, I have a few other things that I do these days. By the time the house is quiet and I have a few minutes to myself, the last thing I want to do is write about and post pictures of these little rascals! It's done now. So, stop your complaining.

We had spaghetti for dinner. Which means that Huddy gets stripped and taken straight from the table to the sink. Huddy=fat and happy. Jackson's superhero obsession was gradual. He went through all the typical loves...animals. cars, dinosaurs...well, Hudson went straight to superheroes. He even shoots webs out of his fingers.

Captain America and Spiderman. Look how short Hudson is! Jackson is getting the tall, lean big boy look. Don't even ask me how Captain America is managing to breath with this kind of nostril blockage.

Jackson went back to Sacred Heart this year and they allowed Hudson to start too (even though he was about a month shy of 18 months). Jackson has the same teachers and is loving it. And, despite this goofy picture and his crooked bangs, he has still made a lot of friends. This is his first day.

First day, getting ready to leave. They refused to let me get a picture with both of them looking.

Hudson...completely unaware of what is about to happen. No, he did great the first 2 weeks and decided this week that he is scared shitless to stay at school. He clings to my legs! It's awful. But, my spies tell me that he stops the minute I leave. He is such a good boy. He takes a nap every day. It is amazing to me that teachers can get a room full of toddlers to stay on those little mats. Amazing.

More randomness. All smiles, this one. I love this picture.

DAD...WARNING. You may want to stop reading at this point...I had a little fun. I couldn't help it. They are just such pretty little boys and it got me thinking....look how happy they are about it!
Jackson's dress is my nightgown. He had on heels at one point, but had to switch to flops for safety reasons. However, the mess in the background gives away any possible belief that I have girls. Boys are MESSY!
See? More mess. I can deal with bathtub paints though.

What is Summer?

chillin with the homies, hangin with the fam, new cousin, birthday parties, hittin the beach, weekend getaways, swimmin, horseback riding, popsicles, building forts, dancing to hip-hop, playing dress up, sweaty trips to the zoo, summer blockbusters, mexican food (margaritas!), best friends, bike riding, sprinklers, fireworks, ice cream...or whatever makes you happy.

A Visit to Mom's Office

Not what you expected? Yep...I bet mom is the only lawyer you know with horses (and cows) at her office...

The torture mom will put us through for a cute picture.

Welcome...

To Gotham City...this may look like Batman, but it's really BATBABY! (did the paci give it away??) Wolverine in the flesh.

Wolverine and Spiderman save Huddy!

Optimus Prime Flash, fool!
In case you were wondering, yes we have every single superhero costume made, with the exception of Aquaman which has apparently hasn't been made yet. Don't worry, Gigi is working on it. Green gloves are a bitch to find in the summer.
