We had a good weekend. On Friday, we went to Clifton and Amy's for fajitas. Lauren and Daniel came, too, and Tanner had a good time playing with Cooper. For some reason, she thought that Cooper needed to have something on his head at all times. She kept putting toys and baby wipes on his head. It was pretty funny. We got to see Layton, too, and he is already changing to much! We had a really good time. On Saturday, we got up and went to the high school to run on the track. Tanner had a good time playing with Clinton in the bleachers. We ate lunch and headed to New Braunfels to see Haley and Jason after that. We got there and ate lunch at local restaurant called Fork and Spoon. A scary thing happened while we were there. Sofia was sitting in her carrier on a high chair that was flipped over. However, she was not strapped in because we kept getting her out and putting her back. She reached forward to grab her sippy cup off of the table and she fell out of the carrier and under the table while the carrier and high chair fell over on top of her. Haley was so scared she flew out of her chair and SCREAMED a four letter word in the middle of the restaurant! The entire place stopped and turned to look. Fortunately, Sofia had just fallen onto her bottom on the floor and was completely unscathed. After we realized this, we started to let everyone know that everything was okay so that they would stop looking at us. Once we all sat back down, we could not stop laughing at the fact that Haley yelled a cuss word in the middle of a crowded restaurant. Needless to say, it is not something that she would normally do! We laughed about that for the rest of the day! Later that day, we all drove to Spring Branch to go to a river party at Mike and Kim's house. There is a nice spot for swimming on the Guadalupe in their neighborhood so everyone sat out there in lawn chairs and the kiddos got to swim. Clinton and Jason jumped off a rope swing, which was fun to watch. After the river, we went back to Mike and Kim's for a fish fry. We had a good time. The next day, Haley and I got to shop a little and Clinton and Jason took Clinton's truck to have the brakes done. We hadn't gotten to hang out with them for about a month, so it was really nice to have the weekend together.

This is a lizard that was on Haley and Jason's back porch yesterday.
There are two frogs that live in Haley and Jason's tree and Tanner was trying to give them a kiss. Yuck!

4th of July Weekend
For the 4th of July, we drove to Kerrville to visit my Aunt Linda. We had such a good time, and we packed a lot in for just two days! When we got to Kerrville, we had a mid-afternoon snack, went to a car show at the courthouse, and then went for a drive. At the car show, we saw a lot of old vehicles and they were all so neat. Aunt Linda's friends were there who own an old truck named "Greenie" and an old Oldsmobile named "Pinkie". Pinkie went away with first place and Greenie got second! We headed out on our drive after that. We saw a lot of gorgeous areas in the hill country and we stopped at one place where there was a replica of Stonehenge. Yep, that's right, it's called Stonehenge II and it looks just like a completed version of the real deal! It sat right in the valley between the hills and the view was amazing! After that, we drove back to my aunt's house and ate dinner. We had brats, bean salad, chips and guacamole, and Tanner had pickles. Lots and lots of pickles. The fireworks were scheduled to go off at 9:30pm so we were hoping that Tanner would make it that late. She fell asleep in the car on the way there, but woke up when we got her out of her carseat. She was really funny, though, because she played dead when the fireworks started! She was wide awake but was as limp as a noodle and pretending to be asleep! I think that she thought that if she pretended to be asleep they may go away! It was the funniest thing ever! The fireworks show only lasted for less than 5 minutes and we were back in the car. She was, once again, wide awake as if nothing ever happened. We thought it was hilarious. We were home by 10:00 and Tanner was out. The next day, we got up and had coffee on the patio outside. Tanner found a garden decoration of my aunt's that was a glass ball. She said "ball" and threw it and it broke, of course. I guess we were lucky that it was the only thing she broke. I was hoping that we would make it the whole two days with no destruction, but who am I kidding? After that, we packed a picnic and headed to the Guadalupe River. We found a good spot right on the water and had a great time eating and watching Tanner chase the ducks. Apparently, she no longer has a duck phobia. We then went to a quilting store in Kerrville to look for fabric for Tanner's room. I fell in love!! This place was amazing! They had room after room of fabric and there were so many beautiful ones! They also had tons and tons of good project ideas. I will definitely be back! My aunt is going to teach me to sew, so I'm sure I will be a frequent customer of theirs once I know what I'm doing. After that, we went to the art museum in Kerrville where they were having a gourd show. Artists painted and carved the gourds in such creative and amazing ways and it was really interesting. Tanner liked seeing all of the different animals that were painted on the gourds as well as the bright colors. While we were there, we made a brief stop at the gift shop and my aunt bought me a ring holder for my kitchen. It is handmade out of mesquite, and it is beautiful. I have already gotten in the habit of putting my wedding rings there when I take them off. She has teased me for so long about the fact that my rings will go down the garbage disposal or in the trash can one day because I take them off when I do anything and I don't always put them in the same place. I would make her so nervous! She gave it to me and told me that she has done her part and that if I lose my rings it won't be her fault! She has done all she could! I thought it was funny. As a side note, my aunt also bought tons and tons and tons of clothes at a local resale store for all of the girls and Logan. Tanner has enough to wear for the next year, at least!! We were so grateful, because we would have had to buy lots of new clothes going into the fall. She has already worn something from the pile every single day this week. Thanks, Aunt Linda!!! After the gourd show, we drove to Medina and went to The Apple Store. There is an apple orchard there and the owners of the store make world famous pies that they ship all over. We got to eat apple ice cream and it was SO GOOD!!! Tanner loved it, of course, and it was perfect because it has been so hot here. We drove back to Kerrville and went to Pier 1 and Hastings and then back to my aunt's for dinner. We bathed Tanner and put her in her PJs before heading home so that we could put her right in her bed. While we were there, Tanner decided on a name for Aunt Linda. She can't say Linda, so she would say YaYa. We thought it was really cute. So, YaYa it is! As it turns out, Yaya means "grandma" in Greek, so there you go!! We had a great time, and we can't wait to visit again soon!
I painted her toenails red for the 4th of July
Giving Yaya a big hug! This is Pinkie and her owner. It really is a beautiful car!
Rosy cheeks =)
This was where we stopped on the side of the road. It was so pretty!
Stonehenge II
She was chasing her daddy around the columns with her hands behind her back. It was pretty cute.
I LOVE this picture. The sky was so blue that day!
She was knocking on one of the columns because they were hollow so they made funny noises. This was a replica of the Easter Island statues. Tanner kept saying "dog, woof woof!"
I think this one is funny.
She was exhausted! We put Sleeping Beauty on while we made dinner and she was just sitting on the couch staring blankly at the TV.She pepped up a little after awhile and laid on the pillows that Aunt Linda put down for her.
This was at the fireworks show. This was the beginning of her playing dead.
This is the full fledged acting...We tried 4 times to take this picture and finally got us both in it with decent expressions!
Our sleeping frog!
Having watermelon the next morning. Yaya made her a bib out of a napkin.
This was our picnic by the river. It was so nice!
Canoists that floated by
Tanner loves to buckle things! She couldn't leave the stroller unbuckled, so she took care of it real quick!
There was a vendor there renting water toys and Tanner made herself right at home.
