They're growing!

At the beginning of the summer, we planted a corner of our yard with watermelons from seeds and they are growing so well!! Here are a few shots.  We have a ton back there, and we can't wait until they are ripe enough to eat!

Great Grandma and Grandpa's House

When we were in Lake Jackson over the weekend, we got to visit Clinton's grandparents who live there also. We normally see them at some point during most visits but Clinton's grandpa has been really sick the last few times that we were down so we haven't gotten to see them as much as normal lately. He was doing pretty well, so we were able to take Tanner out to their house and visit for a little bit.

Clinton's grandparents are excellent at documenting family events, and they have an endless amount of albums with pictures from their lives and previous generations.  Clinton and I always like to look at them when we go.

Our budding performer

We had Vacation Bible School for a week and Tanner was able to go since I was teaching the pre-schoolers. She got to be in my class, which was both lots of fun and very trying at times! She did so well, and she learned all of the music! The music teacher got a big kick out of her because she was the littlest one and she was so into all of the songs and doing all of the motions. Here is one of the songs that she learned.

Trip to Rockport

Tanner and I were invited by our good friends, Alma and Addison, to go to the beach in Rockport. The beaches there are really family friendly, and Alma's parents live nearby so they were able to join us along with her brother and his family. Alma was almost 9 months pregnant at the time and it was about 105 degrees outside, so she was a trooper! We had a great time, and Tanner had a BLAST!!! I think she could live at the beach.  We packed sandwiches and when Tanner was eating hers a seagull swooped down and took a bite out of it and she thought it was the funniest thing ever!! I think she was half scared out of her mind, and half totally amazed!

Photoshoot with Tanner and Maddie

Tanner has a good friend, Maddie, who is only 5 days older than her.  Maddie's mom, Cassie, and I are also very good friends and we decided to take the girls out for a photoshoot in San Antonio.  The girls had a pretty good time since they were together, but there was still a lot of bribing that went on in order to get them to sit still and smile!!

Wimberley

Clinton's parents have rented a cabin in Wimberley for a week the past two years in a row and we went to visit them while they were staying there.  We walked up a giant stairway to a lookout point called Prayer Mountain.  There was an amazing view from the top, and it was a lot of fun. Tanner also got to put her feet in the river, and she really enjoyed that.  That night, we went to an outdoor theater that they have in town to see Toy Story 3.  It was really neat. Everyone brings lawn chairs and sits outside under the stars to watch the movie.  It was a really neat experience, and it just felt like summer.
