Our first days as a family of four

After everyone left on Sunday, we had a couple of days at home alone before my mom came back to help us out.  We spent the first day resting and just being together. It was really nice.  On Tuesday we went to Cam's one week checkup and he was exactly back to his birth weight, to the fraction of an ounce. He was 6lbs 14.6oz. That afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, GiGi came in and stayed with us for the rest of the week.

This is what we did most of the first day...

Tanner helped us assemble some of the baby items that we were planning to assemble the day that I ended up being in labor.

The Meuths came over to see Cameron the first day and Maddie got to hold him.

Cameron's first day at home

The first full day having Cameron home was very festive.  We woke up that morning and played in Tanner's room for a little while.  She initiated him into the family by dressing him up with some of her accessories.  She also read him some books, and held him.  Later that day, the Mitschkes and YaYa came in and joined us, the McDougals, and my parents for a cookout and swimming party (minus me and Cam, of course).  Randy and Cindy fed us hamburgers and hot dogs that night and we had a birthday celebration for Haley after dinner with cake and ice cream.  It was a great way to celebrate our new addition, and we really really enjoyed sharing this day with our families.

Tanner's big surprise

The morning after we came home from the hospital, Tanner woke up to find the last of her "big sister" presents in the garage...a new bike! She was very excited, and the first thing she did was put her puppy in the seat in the back to ride along.

Going home

CAUTION- Lots of pictures!!!

Finally, after three long days in the hospital, we were discharged.  We got home around 5:00pm that Friday evening.  Tanner rode home with us, so it was the first time we went anywhere as a family of four and it was such a good feeling.  We were so happy to be home.

The beautiful bouquet my mom and dad brought me

I have a picture of Tanner just like this when we put her in her "going home" outfit

His eyes were so wrinkly at first, and I'm so glad I have this picture to remember that. He would open and shut them so slowly and it was so cute!

Notice the cheesy fingers. She ate her weight in spicy Cheetos that day!

This is all of her loot that she got to take home from the hospital

This was our favorite nurse. She was very sweet, and very.....colorful=)

Cameron Day 3

We were kind of bummed that we had to stay another day in the hospital.  The day before, the pediatrician on call did not perform circumcisions and we had to wait for a doctor that did.  They came and got Cameron around 11:00am to bring him back for his procedure.  We all hung out in the hospital room while he was away and waited for him to come back. They had to keep him for 2 hours for observation before we could be discharged. We were finally discharged around 3:00pm and headed home.

This is what Tanner did most of the day....
