Callie is One!

We are celebrating Callie's 1st birthday! She has brought us so much joy and laughter this past year. I picked some pictures from the last six months since it's been that long since I've posted anything. I cannot wait for school to get out because Callie loves to swim and I'm ready to hit the pool!

We found this bluebonnet patch outside the dentist office. The flowers were incredible in the hill country this year.

We visited Grayson (and LeeAnn and David) in Dallas. Grayson taught "baby Cowee" lots of new things. He is so adorable.

Also, in Dallas we visited the Ogden house and got to play with Duncan.

6 Months Old!

So, clearly this blog should be called La Vida Callie b/c it's turning into all baby updates. But, I like that family and friends who are far away can see little snapshots of her sweet life which is changing ever so fast! Here are the latest pictures from her 6th month. We count ourselves blessed every day to have a happy, healthy baby that LOVES to sleep! Included are her Minnie Mouse dress from Halloween (which was a little too tight), Taco Cabana fun with daddy and Uncle Brian, Nana's scarf, and eating green beans. Enjoy...

5 Months Old!

The past month has been filled with lots of first adventures for little Miss Callie. Something about finally being able to hold her head up more confidently opened a whole new world of discovery for her. Among some of the new possibilities in her world are:
Sitting on couches with Taylor
(notice the crossed ankles)

Sitting in highchairs
(that is a mischevious half smile)

Holding onto mommy like a monkey

Getting to sit on the "infant" side of the baby tub instead of the "newborn" side

Contemplating the perplexities of modern existence

Laughing with Mimi and Nana

Trying out Johnny Jump Up
(mostly eating it)

Being mezmerized by candlelight...

and firelight...oooh!

(70 degrees constitutes fire making weather)

Drumming with daddy

Traveling Baby

These pictures are in the reverse order in which they happened. fyi. We traveled all over this summer with our little traveling baby. She did great! We went to Colorado, Louisville, Arkansas and Dallas. Now it's finally time to be home and relax. I love Fall. We bought a big, bright orange pumpkin yesterday and sat on the front porch this morning enjoying the cool front. With Callie in my lap and coffee in hand I thought to myself...It doesn't get much better than this!

This is how happy Callie is when we take her on walks after dinner. It was chilly so she wore her little beanie hat. Love it!

Going to visit LeeAnn, David, and Grayson in Dallas.

What a handsome boy!

Four Generations of family - Callie, me, dad, and grandmother and grandaddy. I'm so thankful they have met and held Callie and are still in my life.

Found It!

The lost camera has been found. After three days of turning my whole entire house upside down, and I mean I looked everywhere, I reached into my purse on the way to dinner to get some chapstick and felt it. Our camera was in my purse the WHOLE time. That's as bad as looking for your glasses when they are on your face. I was so upset about losing it b/c I just got it for Christmas last year and Callie has so many cute moments I didn't want to miss. So, you can imagine the relief (and frustration) I felt when I realized it was safely being toted around with me all along. GRRRRRRRRRRR.

It's hard to believe August is here already. Callie will be three months old on the 10th. I am taking some time off until the end of October and then will go back to teaching my little 4th graders. Lately, I have been missing the kiddos at school, although being home with Callie is WAY more fun! My grandparents, cousin Kathryn, and Eric all came to visit last week and met Callie for the first time. We had lots of hang out time and it made me sad that part of my family all live so far away.
