It's Monday, and we all seem to be in a funk.
I think it's because we're sick of the snow and the lack of a regular routine.
The kids and I go to the dentist this afternoon, so that will just top off our Monday bliss.
We do have some good news. Bridgette received Ellie's papers in the mail, so she is officially not a bastard puppy anymore. She is legitimate...YAY!!!
Two more weeks til I get to see my babies.
This blog is another avenue in which to stay connected with my blondies...Sage and Reagan back in Texas. It is an absolute honor to be their mom and I strive to keep my family as intertwined as possible. I hope they enjoy reading about the happenings in Missouri as much as I enjoy reading about their lives.

Homecoming- (Reese)
At the basketball game Reese sat in some gum on the bleachers. So he's wearing some borrowed shorts while Kimberly's mom is working to get the gum off the seat of his pants. Typical Reese. Looks as though he's getting some sympathy from the girls though!
Reese and Devyn...what a cute couple. Is that boy handsome or what!

Seventeen
A seventeen year old kid walks into the hotel this morning. He asks to use the bathroom. Then he asks for coffee. I tell him to help himself to breakfast. I knew there was a story, as did Bob, who himself has once seen hard times.
This young man, Austin, was kicked out of his house last night by his mom and step dad and he slept in the bed of someone's pickup that was parked under a canopy. There's a foot of snow on the ground.
Knowing that I have a tendency to get in over my head, I played it safe this time. I didn't know what to do other than call social services to see what options were available. There's not much.
A housekeeper on staff today bought the kid some lunch and told him that it was left over in one of the room refrigerators. She works two jobs and is barely making ends meet herself, so this was especially kind on her part.
As of now, Austin is here watching TV. He's been on the phone trying to find a ride to St. Louis where he has a friend who's dad said Austin could stay there for awhile.
We'll see how this plays out.
Whatever the case...
I can't help but think of my seventeen year old, and I shudder to think of her ever spending a night out in the cold.
