MEET THE MASSEYS

Owen's stranger anxiety is in full effect. When Grammy arrived, it took a while before he would play with her alone and not cry. When Auntie arrived, it was a similar situation. Even still, once she got out her camera, Owen didn't hesitate to ham it up for the camera. Here is a funny picture that Owen posed for all on his own without any prompting whatsoever from any of us. It was pretty funny to see him posing; he always has been good about smiling for the camera, but this took it to another level. See for yourself.

We had so much fun for Owen's birthday. Grammy came down for a week, and Auntie came down for the weekend and the party. Owen seemed to really have a good time. He had lots of gifts from everyone, so thanks for everything. Though he liked his gifts, he seemed to have the most fun with his cake. Here are some pictures of the birthday boy.

Owen is 366 days old today. We had a great time on his birthday. Grammy came to visit, and we all had a fun day. We'll put up some pictures through the weekend of the festivities, but here's the final video. Mommy "created" this one, but she didn't know how to use the program, so it was a collaborative effort. Happy Birthday Owen!

Well, it's no surprise to me that it seems like yesterday that Owen was joining us. Time seems to fly by. Days 3 and 2 on the countdown went by, leaving no time for new posts. Well, here's one for the last day before Owen's birthday. I'm going to work on a bigger project after his party, so that will probably take several days to get finished. This video clip is a good one to go out on, because this marks the beginning of a whole new level in this house...Owen on the move.

This is one of Cara's and my favorite clips. I trimmed it down, but this went on for awhile that night. I think it's funny that when I laugh, he looks at me puzzled, as if to say, "What are you doing?" Enjoy.

The "airplane" was an all-time favorite for Owen. Now that he can get around on his own, he likes it less than he use to. However, he still has quite the affinity for water.

As promised, here's a new video snippet of Owen from about week 4-6. Not much action here, as you might imagine, but it'll make for a nice contrast once you see what he's doing these days.

I've been informed that the "junkies" are going into withdrawal, so it's past time to put up a post. Sorry for the delay; it's been a sick household this past week. Additionally, I've been spending a lot of my computer time transferring our videos of Owen to the computer. A quick update for you all: Owen loves walking around with his little push toy, and he'll make several laps around the house before he takes a break. He hasn't figured out how to turn it, so he pretty much only goes straight while we tag along to set him on the path. He is so proud of what he's doing, as are we. He's been trying more and more lately to stand without any assistance, and he's able to stay up for a few seconds at a time. Mostly, he just continues to be so silly and playful. He is so much fun to be around. Ok, there are no pictures this time. I want to put up some of the videos we've shot, and my goal is to put up something at least every other day as a countdown to Owen's birthday. I was going to entitle it "The 12 Days of Owen", (since 12 days from now will lead up to his birthday) and put up a video everyday that follows Owen from birth up to the more recent stuff we have, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get up a video per day. Regardless, this will start off the 12 Days of Owen. It's a short one; I'll work on making the future ones a little longer. Enjoy...
