A little catch-up...

Sooo....I'm back. Since it's been...oh, I don't know--forever--since I last posted, I'll do a little recap:

Summer was great. I took 2 summer school courses and Micah worked hard for us. After my classes were finished Micah was able to get some time off from work at ISU so he could go work in Caldwell for my dad. My birthday was the 4th of August and Micah's was the 27th. My siblings also all have their birthdays in August. My parents decided to send my sister and I to NYC for our birthdays. One of my sisters was already there visiting her nanny-family. We got to go to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, a Broadway show, Time Square, Central Park, H&M (favorite store EVER) as well as other shops, and more in the city. We stayed at the home of the De Lasa's outside the city in a beautiful home. After we returned from NY, the boys were heading on a fishing trip to the Oregon Coast. I snuck my way in and joined them. It was really fun! We stayed with my Weissenbuehler grandparents. The weather was nice and the fish were great! We caught lots!

School started and Micah and I came back to Poky. My garden was overgrown, but still alive. This would be my last semester of school--WHOOHOO!!! School used to be my thing, but not so much any more. So we trudged along...I guess the next big event was probably Halloween. Micah and I stayed in Poky for Halloween. We carved some cute pumpkins...well mine was cute anyway.

Then along came Thanksgiving. We spent part of it at Thayns' and part at Elliotts' (my mom's parents). It was really nice to have all our family around. We also had Chelsey's (Micah's sister) bridal shower the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Micah and I returned to Poky. We went to the mountains and got a Christmas tree. Some members of the Student Nurses Assoc threw a Christmas party at Life Inc. with NAMI. It was a wonderful Christmas experience. Gate City singers came and sang for some of the people with disabilities. The next thing we knew it was Christmas break. Chelsey, Micah's sister, married Phil Noble on the 18th of December. We again spent part of Christmas at Thayns' and at Weissenbuehlers'.
Our big Christmas present this year was a CRUISE to Mexico!! Despite the fact that Micah and I were not supposed to get each other anything. He got me a diamond ring I really wanted! I am so spoiled!!! It has a band of black diamonds, white diamonds and two bands of white gold criss-crossing each other. Its gorgeous!!! And I made Micah a stocking. It probably doesn't sound like much to some people, but it was really hard and time-consuming for me! Good thing my Grandma Winnie was there to save the day or I totally would have given up!
We had a blast on the cruise! We went to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. In Puerto Vallarta we found an awesome cabby named Jesus and he took us to some cool shops and helped us haggle with the people selling stuff. He also took us to a really warm beautiful beach and to the top of a hill with a beautiful view. Then later we did the canopy tour with the boats, mules, ziplines, and rapelling.... That was an amazing adventure!! In Mazatlan we got a cab and went to the beach and a guy brought us lounge chairs so we layed out and played in the water for a couple of hours; we also did a little shopping as well. In Cabo we got a water taxi with a glass bottom and snorkel gear and went to Lover's Beach and Pelican Cove. We did a little shopping there too. I mostly helped my sisters bargain shop--Micah and I didn't really get much. It was soooo fun!! The ship was great--we had awesome waiters named Adi and Arif and a room service lady named Lucky! They were all really nice and made it fun for us!
Now Micah is back in school. I will be taking the NCLEX (nursing national board exam) next month and then hopefully getting a job as a nurse here in Pocatello--or somewhere close!

1st Anniversary/Grandparents' Homecoming!

Micah and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary June 27th! Micah planned the day and we took me to the Logan temple where we were married to do sealings, and then took me to the Bluebird Restaurant where we'd had our first lunch as husband and wife. It was so wonderful! He then topped the day off with my favorite flowers--a dozen yellow roses! I'm so lucky to be married to him! It's been a great first year!

My grandparents got home from their mission in Vanuatu in the Suva, Fiji mission. Micah and I were able to go home for a week. He worked at my dad's shop in and I stayed with my mom and helped her get ready for the week. We had an Independence Day celebration at our house on Saturday which turned out great! My grandparents got home Wednesday night. We had made their house nice and sparkly for them to come home to. They were happy to be home. They spoke in church on Sunday and we had a big family dinner following.

I also had the opportunity to pick delicious blueberries, raspberries, cherries, and apricots at my Uncle Bryan and Aunt Joanne's farm at the Plaza Fruit Ranch--I highly suggest going out and getting some for yourself!

Summer 09

Ok so it's about time I posted another one. Amber let me know she found my blog...but it had been Christmas since I posted...sorry about that. :) But thanks for looking me up Amber!!

Let's start with Easter. Micah and I colored eggs with dye and rubberbands. Micah also chose to use a crayon and write inappropriate things like "Kill Bunny" on his eggs. Whatever, at least I got him to participate! After church, we invited our cousins Kyle and Bryan, my sister Andy, and KJ to dinner. We had quite a feast. Then I "hid" eggs while everyone was watching TV. Bryan went to town on getting all the eggs, only because I filled them all with candy! Like I said, whatever--at least I got them to participate! :)

Also this spring I was able to attend a few performances that I LOVED!! The first was the Alley II dance performance. If anyone EVER has the opportunity to see them, take it! It was some of the most fabulous dancing I could have ever imagined and so much better! The other concert was the Jon Schmidt pianist. He has some fabulous songs. You can go to his website jonschmidt.com or look up Love Story meets Viva la Vida on youtube. Good stuff!

Micah and I have been busy busy as always. We finished with our final exams for the spring semester at the beginning of May and the next week Micah was working full time and I was back in school. It's been fun though! If all goes well, I'll be graduating in December!

This spring Micah was able to play in a soccer league. It was really fun to watch him. Carissa Butticci from Emmett invited him to be on the team. Also on the team were Ashley (Vogler) Campbell and her husband Jake. He is from Kuna, along with another member of the team--so we had a Treasure Valley supported team for sure!

I am now playing in a tennis league. It's a lot of fun to get out and practice again. I am still rusty. I think I need a few lessons from the most wonderful Pete Peterson from Boise. Oh well, it's not a serious thing, so I'll just have to get along without him.
Micah gave me a wonderful Mother's Day gift. We have a little raised plot in front of our duplex and he pulled out the 3 stumps and weeded and made the dirt soft so I could plant a garden! And then he went shopping with me to get different plants and he helped me plant it! My wonderful mom also gave me some plants and flowers too! It's so lovely and so fun! I hope I don't kill them all...
