Oh Balm Ah!

Change. One of the few overrated things which I like. And now that the stage is set, it's time to stop talking and start acting. What Obama will do for the world is yet unknown. He may stand for beliefs and issues that are contentious, but one thing is certain, the black man in the White House has brought a refreshing wave of hope not seen in a long time. We can only watch and pray.

Change. It's about freakin' time - not just for America, but for all of us.

Becoming a Saint

I'm currently reading this book called Come Be My Light, an autobiography of Mother Teresa which reveals some of the private letters to her confessors and brings to light, the inner spiritual struggles she faced while doing God's work.

Well, I'm not doing a book review yet, but I just wanted to share something which struck me, which aptly, is just in time for All Saints' Day.

This is what her childhood friend, Sister Gabriela, said about her:

"...I think that God has chosen her for great things. Admittedly, her deeds are entirely simple, but the perfection with which she does them, is just what Jesus asks of us..."

And that to me, is the secret to becoming a Saint: Not by doing great things for God, but by doing the simple things for Him, perfectly.
