A is for.
After months of careful deliberation, I've finally decided...
But, I'm not going to tell just yet.
Guess you'll have to watch this space to find out...
Oh yes, here's a clue.

Phuket plight
The past week, I've been distressed by the news of the Thailand turmoil, largely because I'm due to travel to Phuket this weekend for a semi work-cum-leisure trip with some friends. Naturally, worried nudges from my parents and friends added to my anxiety, and to top it off, the tragic death of Lo Hwei Yen (God bless her soul) resulting from India's 9/11 sharpened my perspective of the chaotic global situations.
And so after much thought, prayers and consultations with the relevant people, we decided to postpone our trip to Phuket this weekend. As much as I'm disappointed and bummed about it, I'm also relieved and at ease with the decision.
Since then, things have turned out pretty smoothly. The people who were expecting me in Phuket were nice enough to understand why I wasn't going anymore, and didn't kick much of a fuss. Even the air tickets we bought were settled rather quickly (although I can't understand why no one ever answers the phone at Tiger Airways).
Anyway, funnily enough, I came home only to learn that Somchai Wongsawat has stepped down from office a mere 6 hours ago, and my initial reaction was like huh? Why now? I just postponed my trip lor...
Not that I'm going to go through the hassle of doing last minute arrangements for the trip all over again. I believe God has a plan for me and going to Phuket this weekend's just not one of them.
Unfortunately, the future of Thailand (and India) remains uncertain.
Sometimes, we take for granted how blessed and safe we are here in Singapore. And while it's true that we can't do much to alleviate the political tensions and fighting in different parts of Asia, the least we can do is pray. So pls, join me in a short prayer. (Don't just read it, pray it!)
Dear God, I pray that You will guide the people in Thailand as they go through a period of political turmoil. Bless them with respectable and people-centred leaders who are free from corruption, greed and inequality. I pray that the violence and unrest will cease, and be replaced by peace and love which comes from You.This first week of Advent, as we draw closer to Christmas, help us too, to stay awake and constantly be on the alert in our spiritual life for we'll never know when we're going to be put through the fire and tested for the strength of our faith. Amen.
