Camille Shovels?
I would have you all know that Camille shoveled snow for the first time in her life. It was an incredible experience. I had shoveled the snow once before during the day (it snowed a lot), and we had to clear out a path for our car. So Camille happily volunteered to help. She soon realized that snow, once it has been collected at the end of a wooden stick, is quite heavy. She did a great job, but im not gunna lie, i have never seen someone shovel the snow so cute (yes i used cute as an adverb). She made me giggle as she insisted that she do it and i just sit back and make a snow man (which was pretty fun as well). Then she got a little distracted and started breaking off icicles with the end the wooden end of the shovel. She did a great job and cleared a great little path for our car. Anyways I love my sweet wife, she makes life very happy and i am glad to be with her.

Our First Thanksgiving: The Disclaimer
This year me and Mike celebrated our firs Thanksgiving together! We had a great time in Texas and we loved seeing my family and all of the little kids. Here are a few highlights:
1. Mike woke up early on Thanksgiving day to go to a turkey bowl! Yay! I got to sleep in! Yay!
2. I got a call while I was out doing last minute shopping with my mom on Thanksgiving day saying that Mike was on his way to the hospital (possibly to get surgery)! Yay!
3. I got another call saying that Mike would not need surgery, but he dislocated and broke his pinky. It was only a break, meaning no surgery. Yay!
4. The doctor re-located (?) his finger and gave him 2 vicatin! Yay!
5. I never got to go to the hospital to visit (which I was bummed about), but my brother brought him home soon, a little loopy from the vicatin and VERY tired. This boy does not handle his medicine well apparenty. Mike is a very loving person to begin with, but on Vicatin, WOW! He smiled at me so big, and told me how pretty I was and how much he loved me for about 15 minutes before he fell asleep. I was beginning to think I should slip a little vicatin into his drink every morning...
6. Mike was not able to wake up for Thanksgiving dinner, so I went to the table by myself. I had the flu almost the whole time I was there, but I thought I was feeling up to Thanksgiving dinner. After two bites of dinner, my gag reflex kicked in and I was running to the bathroom! Yay!
This sums up our whole Thanksgiving day, Mike breaks his finger and is passed out on Vicatin all day and I am throwing up Thanksgiving dinner. There couldn't be a better memory for the two of us, I know this will always make us grateful to be together and to be able to eat a full Thanksgiving dinner!

Ode to my Husband
I love this time of year. The mugs of hot chocolate, the lighted trees, the caroling... the quiet desperation. The week before Christmas at BYU is rarely a happy time, finals being the main culprit. Not anymore! I had one class this semester to graduate. That means one final and then they send me my diploma on a little sheet of paper in the mail. Cake!
I just dropped my sweet husband off to take his second final today and as I was walking to the library, I was also gleefully watching the other students nervously walking to the testing center, biting their nails and trying to cram that last chapter of the bio 100 textbook in their heads before the test because, dang, they forgot it was going to be included on the test! As I was observing, my thoughts turned to this time last year...
This time last year I probably hadn't showered today, or the day before for that matter. Dinner was eaten for as cheap as possible at the cougar eat ($1 loaf of fresh bread with a .50 cent honey butter--anybody who has been to BYU has eaten this for dinner. More than once.Don't lie). I was probably crying on the phone to my mom about how teachers really are ridiculous, giving us all this info to study for tests, and yes, I really could have studied before the day of the final, but I was busy. I know mom, you don't think watching High School Musical with your roommates for the fourth time is busy, but believe me it is. This time last year, I still had 5 tests to take in 2 days because I had procrastinated all of them. This time last year all I could do was dream about going home, and sleeping until forever...
I just wanted to compare this with Mike's experience with finals. This kid will be finished with finals tomorrow, one whole day before they end! He will have finished with no crying breakdowns to his mom, no desperate calls to work asking for the day off and not even one little peep about how busy he is! He still has time to make me breakfast in the morning, make my lunch and get me to work on time! I love him! I'm grateful to have such a wonderful husband who is so on top of things, who is ALWAYS calm and who is so helpful (even when he's ridiculously busy). Thank you for being so good to your scatterbrained, often-times late, but very in love with you, wife.
