Miles is starting to smile when I talk to him. He DOES NOT like his car seat and will cry the whole time we are in the car. (very fun for all of us) 5 hours of sleep is his average right now, and gets up once at night. Not too bad... At his doctor appt he weighed a whopping 13 1/2 lbs. He's in the 80% for his length and weight! The girls were never above 20%. Lucy loves to hold him and touch him ALL the time. Lydia likes to hold him too, but kindly gives him his space. They both think he's hilarious whenever he farts or spits or whacks around with his arms.

Happy Halloween!
Lucy is a Lady Bug and Lydia is a Fairy Angel and Miles is a baby in a ghost onesie.
The girls were dazzling Miles with their wands.
Heading out trick-or-treating with Dad.

Lucy is 5!
I can't believe Lucy is 5 years old! She's gotten so grown up!
Favorites
color: yellow
food: Mac N Cheese and egg burritos
thing to play: My Little Ponies and Polly Pocket
show: My little pony
place to go: outside and find bugs
best friends: Riley and Lauren
She asked for cinnamon rolls for breakfast, egg sandwiches for lunch and chicken hamburgers and fruit salad for dinner.
I think she liked her cinnamon rolls!
(this was her original cake. It didn't quite work out. That's what happens when you try to make a cake while holding a baby...it tasted great though!)

Miles Tucker Mathis
Woah! That's some belly!
Miles Tucker Mathis
6lbs 13oz 20in
Born in only 4 hours!
The girls weren't interested in the baby, so I couldn't get a picture. They were more excited about their new little toys and the doughnuts in the room.
Some of his first visitors:
Grandma Mathis
Grandma Collier
Grandpa Collier
Great Grandpa Fagg
Great Grandma Fagg
Having a baby was hard on the girls too. They fell asleep in 2 min on our way home from their baby outing at grandma's house.
Welcome to the world little man.

Wisdom of Children
Lydia's birthday was a few weeks ago, and since then she's been saying, "Im growed up cuz it was my birthday last year."
(6-2-11)
Lucy saw some garbage on the ground and said, "Mom! Someone left paper on the ground. Now it's glitter." (litter)
(6-6-11)
We were outside and the girls were doing sidewalk chalk. Lucy started narrating the story she was drawing. "Our story begins in Space, where Earth is being attacked by giant lemonade!"
(6-7-11)
Lucy's prayers one night: "And we're thankful for the grateful world and all the things in the world."
(8-16-11)
Lydia had her little elephant stuffed animal up in her ear making chewing noises. I asked her what she was doing and she said her elephant was eating beans out of her ear. I asked her why she had beans in her ear. She said "Sometimes I just have little beans in my ear and elephant likes to eat them." (kids are so random...)
(9-19-11)
We were playing I Spy in the car the other day and Lydia's still been learning how to give clues with out saying what it is. She finally got one right and I said "good job!" In a very proud voice she said, "Your pleasure!"
(9-25-11)
Lydia got into some big trouble the other night at bed time and was put in her room with the door shut. She was really mad about all of it and felt she needed to vocalise it. Loudly. "Mom and dad are so mean! I'm so MAD at mom and dad. They are going to live with another family. And Lucy will go live with strangers, but I'll live with the Mangum's (our neighbor that they play with) cuz they have lots more toys than us. But I can't live there cuz they don't yell and I just YELL! that's just what I DO!" It went on and on. She said some pretty funny stuff for a 3 year old. (can't wait till she's 13...)
(9-28-11)
Lydia was supposed to be in her room for a time out, but I let her out to go to the bathroom. When I came back to put her back in her room, I catch her running (as fast as possible), bare bummed, pants around her ankles, back to her room with the tube of toothpaste "hidden" in her shirt. She was so set on sneaking the toothpaste she forgot to pull up her pants I guess...Last time she got the toothpaste I found it the next morning all squished out between her pillow and her bed sheet. She's been sneaking things out of the bathroom and my bedroom like my chapstick (which was half eaten when found), money from Mike's drawer, cell phones, our Itouch, my scriptures (missing for 2 weeks)...If something's missing Lydia probably hid it under the couch or the nearest bed. Mike's mom was missing her cell phone after our last visit. When she called it, she found it under her bed, courtesy of Lydia, I'm sure...

Remember this project...
Man was it a beast!
I picked this baby up at the DI for $20, not sure what I was going to do with it, but I finally got to work on it this summer. It's actually not completely done, but it's done enough for now. The inside still smells like 100 year old cat pee even though I spent hours and hours stripping it down to the bare wood and trying to de-smell it. Thankfully when it's closed, there's no smell. That will be a project for when I don't have a giant gut and it's not 100 degrees outside.
BUT...
The outside fixed up really good!
Now it's in the baby's room.
4 1/2 weeks to go...
If all goes well, I've got a little more than 4 weeks to go. I have all my projects done already...I think...It's going to be a LONG 4 weeks for me.
The baby's room is ready! Here's some pictures:

Ahh...see that giant Lay-Z-Boy in the corner...that is the most comfortable chair in the world! Perfect for 2:00 am feeding/sleeping in. As much as I'm dreading sleepless nights, I'm looking forward to them in that chair.
This is the super cute quilt my mom, sister, and grandma helped me make. I LOVE it!
I had to make bumpers for the upper rails of the crib, not for safety or comfort for the baby, but because my little destructo child, Lydia, chewed the wood all to crap, like splintered chunks taken out, unrepairable. So, I decided to just hide it with some stylish bumpers.
And my funny looking dragon that I bought 3 years ago hoping someday a little boy could play with it.
Well...wish me luck and extra sleep for the next 4 weeks!

Swim Lessons 2011
Lucy was all about dunking herself...
Lydia was all about splashing her teacher.
They had a blast and both "passed" their levels.
