Really sorry!!! Pardon me for taking such a long time to blog about my traveling experience in Europe. But seriously, my IA job in GE Aviation is killing me. Imagine everyday you got to wake up at 0600hrs, have a quick breakfast, board the company bus at 0645hrs, reach company at 0700hrs, and start work at 0730hrs. Though ending work at 1645hrs is great, after such a long day, you dread doing anything else but to go home and relax yourself and knock out on bed by 1030hrs.
First few days was really torturing for me. Got back Singapore on Friday, didn’t have sufficient rest for 3 nights, and trying to get over the jet lag, I was particularly a zombie for 3 full days. To make things worse, the job that I am currently on is not that interesting to the fact that I am beginning to feel that engineering career is not the path I am looking for. Engineers in GE Aviation seem to live in their own world, they do not chat or joke with each other, and just work within their own desks. The whole office is so quiet and solemn as though there is a funeral going on out there. I may sound crude but this is seriously how I feel. Worse still, my supervisor is not the friendliest person around, and was known to be the “Justice Bao” in the office. He is a quiet person, looks strict (well, he is really strict, according to the operators working under him), and do not have any sense of humour. Every time when I talk to him, he somehow creates this sense of fear in me, and this is how bad it is. I thought I could build up a good working relationship with him so that it creates a healthy working and learning environment for me. I seriously don’t see that coming.
Nevertheless, it’s only the 4th week and I still got another 18 weeks, I still hope our working relationship can improve, mainly because I want a good grade for my IA. Hahaha. Will the next 18 weeks be heaven or hell for me? Time will tell.
Anyway in 2 days time, it’ll be the Lunar New Year. Yeah, time to celebrate and collect lots of ang pows. A secret to share: I didn’t want to go for an overseas attachment for another semester because I didn’t want to miss this exciting festival, the only festival you can collect money. Hahahaha!! Nah, just joking, plenty of other reasons. I will make full use of this festive period to upload all my remaining photos as well as update my Europe experience.
