May Movie-a-Day 2014

May 26th:

If you can pull your mind away from the distracting red beard for two seconds, you may agree that he has a gift.  It may be a gift that makes people extremely uncomfortable, never the less, his improvised songs are a gift just the same.

May 25:

Who knows... who really knows.

May 24th:

We tend to quote Lord of the Rings constantly in our daily lives.

May 23:

These are the types of videos usually sent to my brother via text...

May 22:

I was just craving Hawaii.  I wanna go back!  I wanna go see Ben and Lydia and Brodie.  Here's our video from our magical vacation in Waikoloa.

May 21st:

I'm noticing a pattern where most of my embarrassing videos with Mitchell take place in a public setting.  And people wonder why I have developed social anxiety...

May 20th:

Mitch has always told me he knows when I'm happiest based on whether or not my tongue is sticking out the side of my mouth.  When the tongue's out... Jesse's in a good mood.

May 19th:

Oh, you know, just another average day in the life of Mitchell and Jesse Bee.  This took place last year right before the Cherry Festival Lip Sync Competition, so we had ROCK OF AGES stuck in our brains for about a week strait at this point.  Just know... everything in this video is extremely normal and happens on a daily basis in our lovely lives.

May 18th:

I am easily entertained.  This was the best laundry day EVER!

May 17th:

This was during our zombie phase.  Maybe we watched a little too many Walking Dead episodes...

May 16th:

We never have the heart to tell Stuntman he has to go outside.  So, we try and make him feel like he's in control and making the decision himself.

May 15th:

There are no words.

May 14th:

Shopping decisions can be extremely hard to make at times.

May 13th:

Sometimes the wisest thing to do is remain calm and not move.  Just wait patiently.  It soon will pass.

May 12th:

Sometimes when Mitchell is grumpy I do things far outside of my comfort zone.  Things that I hope will assure him a cheerful attitude.
I can't believe I'm allowing this to be posted right now.  A few people have mentioned this month that I seem a lot more comfortable in my videos in front of the camera than my real-life timid personality portrays.  I think this definitely supports that hypothesis.

May 11th:

I actually secretly love it when Mitchell is grumpy because beautiful melodies of grumpiness are born.

May 10th:

A survival journal.  Lost in the wilderness.  Encompassed by danger in all my surroundings.

May 9th:

Yes, we did sing the entire song, but I'm saving youtube the extra uploading space by cutting it short.

May 8th:

When Mitchell locks me out of the car, it usually results in me running down the middle of the road with him chasing behind me.

May 7th:

Dronie: "A video selfie taken with a drone."  Here's Mitch at Columbia Hills State Park enjoying the freshly bloomed wildflowers.

May 6th:

A jolly little Christmas Elf scampering down the way...

May 5th:

In honor of Odd Dawgz.  The best hotdogs of the Northwest.
RIP Odd Dawgz

May 4th:

An oldie, but a goodie
(So glad Mitch didn't break his ankle jumping off the dock)

May 3rd:

Family dance parties in the living room are completely normal and common. ...Right guys? ...Guys? ...Right? ...C'mon guys.

May 2nd:

Sometimes Mitchell enjoys spooking me.  And he choses random words to shout at me from behind the corners.  On this day he chose "Frankincense."  And then I was angry.

It's that time of year again!  I cannot believe it!

Let's just jump right in!  May 1st:

Remember the ferret that used to dangle from my husband's face?!?  Sometimes Mitchell looks back at photos and gets a little blue knowing that the beard is gone... But I think it's for the best.  Love you, Mitch-guy!

2013 in Review

I can never believe it when another year flies by.  It usually takes me half a year to get used to writing the date correctly, and by the time I finally get the hang of it, it switches on me!
 I made a list...

MY TOP 10 FAVORITE MEMORIES OF 2013

10. WALKING THE PUPS
Mitch and I loved visiting the animal shelter and walking all the dogs along the river trail.  I can't wait to get one someday, but until we have a fenced in backyard, these guys are keeping us entertained for now.

9. TIME OUT FOR WOMEN
In November I went to Portland to an LDS conference for women.  It was so fun spending the weekend being uplifted and surrounded with my great friends and women that I care for.

8. WORKING AT COUSINS
I have made some AMAZING friends this year with my coworkers!  I feel so fortunate to have a job that I look forward to going to everyday.  When I think of jobs I've had in the past and how much I hated it, I feel so blessed knowing I work somewhere fun, where we can hide creepy pictures of Nicolas Cage all over the restaurant and shove salad dressing in each other's faces when no one's looking.

7.  EXPLORING THE GORGE
Have I mentioned how much I missed Oregon when we moved away?  The northwest will ALWAYS be my home!  I love, love, LOVE living here again!

6. RUNNING THE EPIC RELAY
This year I had the chance to train and participate in the Epic Relay with my bro/sis-in-law.  It was such a great experience!  It was hard work pushing myself and staying up late into the night in a van full of sweaty runners, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

5.  PARAGLIDING
I can't say thank you enough to Claude and Annie for making this possible for us!  Mitch and I had the opportunity to go paragliding over the summer.  It was so crazy running off the side of a steep hillside and soaring over the treetops.  We were FLYING!  I can't wait to do it again someday.

4. MY YWs CALLING
Teaching the Sunday lessons for the youth is the BEST church calling in the entire world of church callings!  I love these girls so much and have so much fun watching them grow and be shining examples to those around them.  They have taught me more over the past year than I could have ever possibly taught them!  So, so grateful!

3. OUR TRIP TO HAWAII
Do I really need to explain this one?  I'm so glad we were able to spend the time seeing family and hanging out with Ben, Lydia, and baby Brodie.  We love them so much!  It was a perfect paradise and I seriously can't wait to go back!

Here's a video from our Hawaii adventure….

2. KENNY CAME HOME
My little brother came home from serving his church mission in Brazil for two years!  TWO YEARS where all we could do was email once a week and Skype with him every Christmas and Mother's Day.  There was such a huge hole in our lives while he was gone, and since he's been home, that gap has been filled again and the Hutchings family has a feeling of completeness once more.  I love being able to call him anytime I want and he'll be there to answer the phone in his goofy "Kenny" voice.
 "BEESHKEELDEEL!"

1. BEING WITH MY FAMILY
I love my family!  I'm so grateful to spend the year so close to Mitch's parents and for all that they have done for us.  I'm glad my parents are only two hours away and I can spontaneously plan a weekend trip to be with them anytime I want.  I'm so glad we had so many family members come visit us this year and were able to go visit other family as well.  Family!  Family!  Family!  I can't say it enough!  It is my reason for living!

This year was awesome!  And as much as I loved all our trips and adventures, I'm such a homebody!  Above everything else, I love more than anything sitting on the couch and cuddling Mitch while we watch TV or play candy crush together on our tablet.  I'm so grateful for my sweet husband and every second I get to spend with him!  I am crazy obsessed with that guy!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Oh, What Do You Do In The Summertime?

On this especially sunny Sunday, I was crazy craving lemonade.  And I wanted to spend as much time outside as possible, so this is how I spent my afternoon....

"Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?  Do you march in parades, or drink lemonades, or count all the stars in the sky?  Is that what you do?  So do I!"

I'm gonna say it...  Of the THOUSANDs of places we have lived, the summer weather in The Dalles is my absolute FAVORITE!  No humidity, no 'it's so hot I can't breathe' desert air, just pleasant, happy, smiling sunshine everyday.

We picked FRESH FRESH FRESH raspberries!  Holy smokes!  I couldn't stop eating them.

Stuntman came to visit while we were picking.  He kept head ramming my shoe.

"NOT NOW KITTY-FACE!  THE RASPBERRIES CAN NOT WAIT!"

Yes.

Easiest compote in the world award...
1 cup of raspberries
1 TBS of sugar
(Or maybe 2 if you're feeling cRaZy)
A couple squeezes of lemon

Warm it on the stove on low for a minute or two and BAM!  Add it to your lemonade.

Best. Day. Ever.

DAY 28

THE AMBUSH

We are a special, special breed.  Mitch and I came to visit La Pine and brought our NERF gear and our "after halloween clearance" purchases.  When Justin and Emma got to the house Lisa was pretending to take their picture, when secretly she was documenting our ambush.
