Don't be jealousss...

Caleb has great gripping skills now that he has 4 toofs.

We're moving to OREGON!

Cannon has accepted a job with Evergreen Aviation in McMinnville, OR. We are an hour southwest of Portland, about 40 min from the Oregon Coast. We are totally excited. We will be arriving the first of next week. Got lots of packing and work to do in the next couple days.

Throw a yard sale, it's the neighborly thing to do!

Parting with clothes is such sweet sorrow. Cannon found a pair of my pants that he thought were ugly as sin and they were the first things to go this morning! Ha, ha! I have great taste.(Notice the "hanging rod" that Cannon made from a rake and a crutch and some Boy Scout knots)
My two boys, hanging out, waiting for curious shoppers to arrive.

Caleb had a great time rummaging through anything that he could get his hands on!

If yer lookin' to get to know your neighbors, forget the old take-over-a-plate-of-cookies routine--throw a yard sale!! We have lived here for about 2 years and I'll admit that we've never taken a plate of cookies to ANY of our neighbors (our excuse list is a mile long). But if we ever had, then we would have been sorely disappointed to know that we could have avoided countless hours of baking by throwing a yard sale. It's amazing because you put stuff out that you'd rather donate for free and people come out of the woodwork and buy the craziest things. They come to you and they start telling you about themselves! No baking, walking, handing, polite small talking--all the fun talk happens as they peruse over your useless junk and you learn things about these folks that are fascinating, just fascinating! The neighbors next to us have a son who plays in a blues band and they burned 4 CD's for us and introduced their two boxer dogs to us, Ruby and Opal (Opal is only a few weeks old--cute!!). Their son checked out the guitar we were selling. The lady across the street was in a neck brace but she wanted to come visit and it turns out that her 80 year old husband has been battling cancer with excruciating chemo treatments and his cancer is now in remission. She was eying our mini-fridge for her son. The fellow across the street is essentially a paparazzi photographer with his own magazine that he puts together and he brought his latest edition with pics of people like George Clooney, Brangelina, Charlize Theron, etc. He bought our crossbow, a kite and some CD's that I had. Another woman who lives across from us has a friend from Minnesota visiting and her name was Sharon. Sharon visited with us for quite a while and then bought some luggage, a camelpack and some clothes. There were other fun chats that we had, but I was just thoroughly amused at our closest neighbors, finally coming around to say howdy. So, if you truly want a win-win situation, throw a yard sale. You get rid of your junk and make a few bucks. But most importantly, you get to know your neighbors and they get to know you!

Mirrors Don't Lie

Caleb had a blast with his reflection--kissing and talking and cooing! I had so much fun getting it on camera!

A different perspective

Caleb has found a new way to chill in his jumper.

This is why we'll be sad to go

Caleb is going to miss playing with Gram and Gramps and Aunt Lolly. But his Cousin Luke is out on the prairie, doing his fair share of scoutin' and stirrin' up trouble. Caleb wants his share of new adventures...so off we go! We'll be moving sooner than we like to think.

He's crawling!

Caleb is "really" crawling. It's official, as of today. My little shadow just got much more mobile!
He is also getting really good at pulling himself up from the floor to a standing position and walking with our assistance. This is good and bad. Good, because he'll be walking soon. Bad, because he has to learn to steady himself, sometimes taking a tumble and bonking his head. But he's tough. He'll make a great linebacker someday! He sure has a lot of fun playing with Grammy and Gramps!

More Hawaii Pics and Videos

Caleb and I snuggled up and watched the sunset at Waimea Bay.

Caleb had a blast splashing in the waves! Here he is having a blast at Haunama Bay!

Our favorite place to boogie board was Waimea because the waves are big!

Driving along the H-3 Highway, admiring the huge mountains and lush, green vegetation.

Caleb loved getting buried in his sand chair...he was content to sit and watch the surfers and the waves (probably because he couldn't move. Ha, ha!)

Walking along Sunset Beach one morning.

Caleb crawling in the sand at Sunset Beach.

Striking a pose at Hukilau Beach--what a cute beach baby!

Baby blue eyes to match the beautiful blue ocean waves!

Almost more than splashing in the ocean, Caleb liked dining on the sand. He's at Hanauma Bay in this pic. Very happy.

My very talented sis, Heidi, did some photoshop magic to some of our Hawaii pics (posted above) and I really like what she did. Thanks Heidi!

Also, here are a couple videos of Hawaii (see below)!

Hawaii

Cannon eating a delicious coconut!
Caleb seeing how far he'd made tracks in the sand. He looked like a turtle slowly scooting along the beach!
This is at Hanauma Bay and the sand was too irresistible for Caleb...it sparkled!
A view of Hanauma Bay as we walked down into it. We went snorkeling here!
Caleb and I in front of the LDS Hawaii Temple. Beautiful temple grounds!!

We took a trip to Hawaii and had a fantastic time. We spent most of our days on various north shore beaches like Pipeline, Wiamea, Sunset, Haleiwa and Hukilau, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We did some snorkeling and boogie boarding, some hiking and sun bathing. Explored the little towns and big cities...ate some fresh pineapple, had the best shrimp, cracked a coconut and drank the milk and ate the meat...watched the surfers take on some truly gnarly high sets of waves. It was a grand adventure. Caleb was awesome and he had a terrific time playing in the sand and eating it. He is a great little traveler. Here are a few pics. I'll post the rest of them on Caleb's baby site.
