After Caleb's bath, he tried on some new kicks that we got him. He did pretty good in them.


He played so hard in the morning that he just crashed. He still has those adorable cheeks...bless his heart. What do we name the dog? Kodiak?..is that it, gramps?

He woke from his nap and then fell asleep on daddy. He was REALLY tired from playing so hard.

Then he woke up and was ready for more play! Grammy and Gramps gave Caleb this lawnmower and it was a total hit. He absolutely loves this toy. And he actually started to walk behind it! Thanks Gram and Gramps! (see video)

We went to Calamity Janes restaurant and had us a dee-licious birthday dinner-- chicken fried steak (for Cannon), some fantastic clam chowder (for me) and mashed potatoes (for Caleb). They brought out a baby sundae just for Caleb too!

We had the music cranked while we played with Caleb so be forewarned that this is a loud video!

This is the cutest shot of his adorably pudgy thighs! He's quite the climber and can actually get his toes hooked into that door and then he hangs from his fingertips. Somebody found his birthday presents...little squidger! Just like Grammy, he was dying to dive into his presents before his birthday!




New haircut from mom...if you squint it looks great!

It has been a busy morning for Caleb the little bear cub. First there was the exploration of all the kitchen cabinets and drawers within reach, emptying, scattering and clanging as he went. He had warm mush and yogurt for breakfast, then had a nice warm bath. After bathtime, it was off to explore the bathroom. The tub faucet went on and off, on and off as random items were thrown in the tub from the drawers. After that, it was time to relax and watch Baby Einstein. Now Caleb is sleeping soundly, all tuckered out from a full morning!

We got the most wonderful package for Easter...

Caleb has a great arm. Future quarterback...pitcher...shot put gold medalist?

Caleb is intrigued with "open and shut", whether it is a book, the diaper wipes lid, a drawer...or a door.

We've been learning about the jungle on Baby Einstein. As you'll see in the video below, Caleb is purrrfecting his growling skills. After the DVD was over, he made the kitchen table his savannah, hiding and growling until I found him!

Sometimes Caleb prefers to mash, squish, stuff, spread, smear and throw his food, rather than just eat it. Doesn't seem too energy cost effective, but he's got oodles of energy to spare!

This video was taken Sunday night, before Cannon left for Washington D.C. He's there ALL week. Caleb LOVES playing with daddy. Warning, you will see their tummy's.

Caleb was trying really hard to reach a thing-a-ma-bob on the outside of the house. You can see the wheels turning in his cute little head! Pay no attention to the conversation that Cannon and I have, it's about as exciting as listening to tennis match commentators.

Caleb and I had 2 of the coolest people come and stay with us--that's right, Les and Vale came down from Seattle to play. Pictures don't do Vale justice and his personality is so sweet! He played very nicely with Caleb, who became his shadow. He babbled a lot more because Vale is a very good talker. And he wanted to stand more often because Vale walks and runs all over the place! And we often heard Vale say, "Va-o's turn" and then Caleb would holler or scream, as they learned to share. Les and I laughed as we watched our darling boys play together. We laughed harder as we reminisced about college days. We stayed up too late talking and we ate too much--and as we waved goodbye with tired eyes and wound up babies in tow, it was clear that this is what life is all about. True, dear friends are very rare and I feel blessed to have a friend like Les in my life. Not many gals would drive 4 hours down and 4 hours back with a 2 year old to visit a friend. Thanks Les, and we'll be up to see you soon!

Cousin Luke surprised Caleb with his early birthday gift--and it was the greatest gift! Bubbles! A BIG bottle of bubbles! Caleb can't decide which is cooler, the bright blue bottle, or the bubbles. Thanks Luke!!

We had a lot of fun this weekend and we caught Caleb on video when he was wound-up! In this first video, you'll see him trying to give Cannon a razzberry on his stomach. He likes to make us laugh as much as we like to make him giggle!



Caleb loves to be dropped onto the pillows...he will be a dare-devil, for sure.
