6 Months

Here is Merek at 6 months. I cannot believe it! Wow--a half of a year already has gone by with this adorable little guy in our home.

At his doctor visit he weighed in at 21 lbs. 2 oz., and was 28.5 inches. I think last appointment they mismeasured him. Anyway, he is sitting up well now--still with some assistance. He can roll over from his back to tummy (usually on his left side) but hasn't quite gone from tummy to back. He is fascinated with hands--my hands, his hands, anyone's hands that are in front of his face. He loves to study them very intently for several moments. He is still rubbing his feet together a lot. And has two bottom teeth with the top ones ready to break out any day now. Feeding-wise, he blew through Stage 1 foods and is completely on Stage 2 foods. He doesn't really mind peas, could do without beans, and loves all fruits and orange veggies. He likes Oatmeal as well. We switched him into the bigger car seat, so no more lugging the carrier in and out of the van.

Yesterday he was laying on my bed resting and got hold of his blue blanket with both hands. He started pulling the blanket it up and down, creating a little burst of air each time. It was fun to see the expression on his face with this new fun activity he was doing. He is still a paci-boy and can sometimes even get it into his mouth by himself. Sleep-wise, he has had two "sleep-through-the-nights". He cries when I put him down and sing to him. Sometimes when I walk out of the room he stops. Other times he doesn't.

He really likes to watch the boys play during the day. He doesn't like them in his face, but has a sweet smile on his face when they are across the room playing. I really love this little guy. It is hard to imagine not having him in our family. Even though we thought we were done at four, I'm glad someone else had different plans for us.

Softball and t-ball have started full-force. This week we had 9 events scheduled in 6 days between the three older kids. Thankfully 3 of the events were cancelled because of rain. As much as I don't like having a busy schedule and having to schlep all the kids to each game and practice, I do enjoy the games and watching the kids.

Hearing nothing . . .

This afternoon I had a FEW quiet moments to myself and stepped outside on the back stoop. I sat down in the sunshine, enjoyed the view, and listened to nothing. It was beautiful. All 3 minutes of it.
