Cosmo Cricket Design Team Call

I'm throwing my hat in the ring :D

Here are some of my favorite products I have created recently. The first three use Cosmo Cricket products. The last two are just some favorites that I think show my creativity. ;)

Card and Fry box gift

Mom's Recipe Box

Sunshine

Mom card
Now for the wordy stuff--I have LOVED Cosmo Cricket products ever since laying my eyes on the Wanted line a few years ago. I had to have all of it! When I recently heard there was a DT call for Cosmo Cricket, it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up!

Here is what they said they are looking for in design team members on their blog:

1. People who love Cosmo Cricket products and are inspired by them--CHECK!

2. People who have a great sense of design--I'll let you be the judge (but CHECK in my mind!)

3. People who are creative--well, everyone is always telling me I am creative. CHECK!

4. People who maintain an active blog and are connected to online communities. First part--working on it :) Second part--CHECK!

5. People who are not afraid to submit for publication. (really? people are afraid??) CHECK!

6. People who are low maintenance, dedicated, easy to get along with, generally happy and fun to be around. Describes me to a T :D CHECK! CHECK! CHECK! CHECK! CHECK!

So, there you have it. Thanks for checking out my projects. I look forward to hearing from you :)

More LOAD layouts

Sorry--I'm behind getting these posted BUT I am caught up on all the challenges through today at Personal Scrapper. Hooray! These are a few of my favorites from the past week.

Lynette challenged us to create a layout using a keepsake or memorabilia. I started a different layout for this challenge but couldn't find the right spot for the keepsake. Then I remembered that I had Merek's lock of hair and decided to scrap that instead. The products on this page are a little bit of things from here and there in bags around my scrap area.

This layout was created actually for two challenges. One of them being the LOAD challenge for June 21st--scrap something related to Father's Day and it needed to include pink (notice the princess picture in the top R corner hanging on the closet door?). The other challenge was Challenge #2 over at A La Carte. I started with three of the menu items but ended up using all six. :) I love how this LO turned out.
Janine challenged us to do a Before/After layout. This was probably the hardest challenge for me to come up with something. Since yesterday was the girls last day of school, I snapped a picture of them before they got on the bus and paired it with a photo from their first day of school this year. I used a sketch from the July'09 CK magazine.

Sheila challenged us to make a layout inspired by the colors of our toothbrushes! Now that is interesting! My toothbrush is white and red. I've had these Kaiser Craft papers sitting on my file cabinet behind my desk for almost a year and am so glad to have finally used them.
I cannot believe June is almost over. I'm lovin' the layout a day challenges--lots of pages and cards done this month!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!

(I still can't believe we have 5 kids! But, they sure are cute!)

Challenges, challenges, challenges

I've discovered a fun new place to play-- A La Carte. Funny how you end up somewhere . . . I was visiting one of my favorite scrappers sites here and just happened to click on Aphra's name (it IS an interesting name) which led me to her challenge blog. I really like challenges because they light a fire under me and get me to scrap. And I really like the whole aspect of the A La Carte blog that she and Frances have put together. You should go check it out, especially if you like to be challenged (and you know who you are *wink*wink*)

And so, with the Challenge #1 at A La Carte, I put together this LO--which I also am using as my sample for the June 22nd Challenge of the Day over at PersonalScrapper (my day to challenge everyone). My challenge--Fussy Cutting, something of late that I have come to love.

The Sassafrass paper was so fun to cut up--all those flowers, clouds, sun and owl. And then I love the October Afternoon striped paper with the cool clouds on the back. Added in some Prima papers (green background and diamonds) to finish it off. It took me a bit to figure out which alpha to use for the title but then I remembered I had these white Paper Trunk alphas--perfect size! Love them! And the "rayon de soleil"--one of the menu items at A La Carte was to use something French. :) Too much fun!

I have a few more challenges over at PS.com to catch up on and am hoping to get to them in the next day or two. The girls are finally out of school on Wednesday and having 5 kids at home all day all summer means my scrapping time may be a bit limited. :)

LOAD challenges Week #2

The second week of LOAD challenges wrapped up at PersonalScrapper and I'm behind! Yikes! There is actually only one challenge from last week I haven't done yet, and then the two from this week. But I'll get caught up.

Here are two of my favorites from last week's challenges. Carrie challenged us to make a layout with NO PHOTOS (!). A great idea popped into my head with all of these cute Cosmo Cricket embellies I had to use--a RECIPE page. So I picked some of my favorite recipes that my mom passed on to me when I left home.

This page is for Emma's Challenge to do a page about a friend or friends. This is my sweet neighbor, Heather. So glad she is just down the street from me. I used products from the PS June add-on kit.
Check back early next week and I'll post my favorites from this week's challenges.

LOAD challenge layouts

It's been over 3 1/2 years that I have been a member of the PersonalScrapper.com kit club. You know what I love about it--well, besides the awesome kits? Erica, the owner, is so encouraging to all of us to scrap! She is constantly having online crops and challenges that push us to not only use our kits but to record our memories.

Right now, there is a LOAD (layout a day) challenge going on there for the month of June. Different club members are posting a new challenge each day to inspire us to make pages. So far, I've been able to keep up with all the challenges. At this rate, I'll have 30 pages done by the end of June. Hooray!

Here are my two favorite layouts from this past week. The first was from the challenge on Day 5--create a graduation layout. This is my adorable niece, Desiree, who just graduated from HS this past Friday. The LO design in based on a PageMap design from 11/08. I used the PS.com April kit for the layout, along with some KI die-cut paper and Basic Grey rubons.

This layout was for the challenge on Day 2--Scraplift a layout by Kelly Goree. Addie posted a particular LO by Kelly that she loved and we were to scraplift it. This is my version. A sweet friend sent me these awesome Bella Blvd. papers for my birthday last month. It was fun to use them on a layout about my birthday :)
Check back next Monday and I'll post a few of my favorites from this week :)

Some good news to share. Go here for some exciting news. And go here to see the layout I contributed to the PageMaps newsletter this month. It's the top left one on page 3. And you can donate to Becky's great cause right from her newsletter.

Here are a few layouts I've made lately. This first one is by far my favorite:

After taking the picture of the layout I actually moved the journaling tag over to the left so the barcode just overlaps the red patterned paper. But I'm too lazy to take another picture :)

And here are some layouts I've created for the LSS this month. The patterned papers are Jenni Bowlin, Cosmo Cricket, and Sassafrass Lass.

(This layout below also used the PageMaps sketch I was assigned to create with this month).

Thanks for stopping by!

It was Treason!

So the boys are playing with legos right now. Krish had built up a car. It got knocked over somehow.
"Mom," he yells, "he knocked it down on purpose!"
Bird replies, "No, it was an accident."
"No!" protests Krish, "It was on purpose!"
I finally speak up and say, "I'm sure it was an accident."
Bird, "Yea, it was an accident."
Krish, "NO! It was TREASON!"

Hmmm . . . where'd he hear that word?
