Halloween

We had a fun Halloween. The Kids were pretty excited about their costumes.
Here is Jarret trying his on after we got it. He thought he was pretty cool.

Our pumpkins. Merrill carved the one in the middle, I carved the other 2. Darci sure was excited about her Mickey Mouse pumpkin, that took Mommy Forever to carve. ;)

Darci was so excited to be Minnie for Halloween, she told everyone about it. My mom made her this little figure out of clay, of her as Minne Mouse.

We went to the church for a little party and trunk or treat.

They had lots of games and things for kids, here is Darci getting her face painted.

Wyatt tossing the bean sacks, trying to make it in the holes to win some candy.
Eastons turn
Now Darci, she made one in the hole! That's my girl!

Cupcake time!

Wyatt trying to eat the donut from the string, he had a hard time not using his hands. Darci wouldn't even try.

Time to get candy!

After the party we came straight home to pass out candy and Darci and I went around our neighborhood to a few houses. Let her get the experience of "real" trick or treating.

She was a little unsure about this house. She really didn't want to go through there. And then a zombie answered the door. She was real brave and didn't let it scare her too much.

She sure was a pro!

Jarret's Birthday

I am way behind on this post, better late than never, I guess.
Jarret turned 1 year on Sept 19th. We had his party on the Saturday after, while Kelly and Reagan were here. And of course the party is mostly for everyone else, since he doesn't know what's going on. Ok, lets be completely honest here, it was mostly for me. My little boy turning one, beside the fact that I can't believe how fast time went by, was pretty fun and exciting for his Mommy!
I found this cute little cake pan on amazon

My intention was for his cake to look like that one, but since I am horrible at cake decorating, the frosting didn't go on as well, so I sprayed it with blue food color spray, to try and hide the flaws. ;)

"Happy Birthday to you!"

He was a little unsure at first...

But then he dove right in.

His "cheese" smile, or as he says, "chee"

Opening presents, the cards were his favorite part. ;)

All the other little kids tried to get in there and help him, and of course they all wanted to play with his new toys!

Cool Camo boots! Thanks Aunt Kelly

Jarret sat on the grass and put his head down to fuss and discovered that the grass tickled his face and thought it was pretty funny. So he kept doing it...

I tried to upload videos of him eating his cake, but for some reason I can rarely upload most videos.
He had his 1 year Doctors visit. First of all he did amazing with his shots. The nurse was very impressed with how much he didn't cry. She said that he's pretty much the toughest 1 year old she's seen, he barely cried at all.
His stats:
Weight- 20lbs 4 oz  just above 10% (I had to look at that multiple times, I'm just not sure that I believe it) ;)
Height- 29.5 in  just under 50%
Head- 18.5 in  about 70%

And of course to compare to Darci ;)
She was also 29.5 in long, but weighed 21lbs 15oz (63%) and this is why I'm shocked that Jarret is only 10%  ;)

Jarret's is such a smart little boy. I am amazed how fast he learns things. I taught him how to sign please and he caught on in like 2 minutes and that's all it took. He wants something and if he doesn't sign right away I say "what do you say?" he signs please and says "pea". He signs "all done and says "ah da".
He also says "chee" when getting his picture taken, usually only when Darci says "cheese".
He says Momma and Dadda or Ma and Da.
He says uh oh! and Ni-nigh (night-night) and  na na na (no no no) while shaking his finger.
He tries to copy things we say, he does pretty good.
He climbs on everything. He loves to dance. And he loves to cuddle, he'll cuddle up to almost anyone, But definitely has his favorites.

And he loves to brush his teeth. What a big boy!

On Sept 19th was Jarret's 1st Birthday. It was also the day that we got a couple visitors! Merrill's sister Kelly and her daughter Reagan came to visit! We had lots of fun. Darci loved having a visit from "cousin Reagan"!
On Thursday we rented a van (I can't fit 3 car seats in my car) and drove to the beach. First we headed to Lincoln city were we had some lunch, which wasn't the best idea with the kids. They for sure made a huge mess and could not hold still.

He also got some salt water taffy, of course, from the only place in Lincoln city that makes their own. It was Yummy!

Then we visited the beach. It was pretty cold and windy so we stayed back from the water to sit and play for a bit, then walked to the water for a quick view, until the water went over Reagan's feet and of course it was freezing and she sat down and got all wet and sandy.

Then we visited the Tillamook cheese factory, pretty much the best part of the trip, although they were cleaning the machines, so we didn't get to see any cheese being packaged and such. :(
We did get to sample some cheese, which is one of the big highlights of the Cheese Factory. We also bought some cheese while we were there. Can't go to a cheese factory without getting some cheese curds, aka squeaky cheese! :)
And the other big highlight was the ice cream! They have some delicious ice cream and some amazing waffle cones, it's like eating a cookie with my ice cream! YUM!

On Saturday, we started the morning by taking Jarret and Reagan with us to a 5K race. We all had so much fun. The kids loved riding in the stroller, we walked and ran, and finished in about 42 min.

Jarret's new "cheese" smile!

Dancing in the park after the race.

Next that day was Jarret's Party, here is a little bit from the party, more to come in a later post.

These to were mistaken as twins a few times in our outings over the weekend.

Ready for the prayer.

On Sunday after church we drove to a park about 30 min away, along a river. I didn't get any pictures of the river, Jarret and Reagan were pretty much fighting us to get in, so we weren't there long. But we got to play at the park for a little while.

Our attempt at a family picture, Darci did not want to cooperate.

While they were here, Kelly and Reagan slept in Jarret's room, so Jarret got to sleep in Darci's room. She was pretty excited about it. After Jarret fell asleep she pulled his bed right next to hers and sat there for a few minutes watching him sleep.

Cousins, so cute.

Darci loved cousin Reagan coming to visit. Thanks for a fun weekend. Come back soon! :)
