lil' roxy

Not to post too soon over Lyndon's post (see below), but I couldn't help myself after getting these pictures from my awesome friend, who happens to be a great photographer that so needed to practice taking pictures and lets me benefit from her work!

I miss those little cheeks when she is in bed, even if it was a tiresome day with her-which isn't that often..either that, or I am getting numb to tantrums.
It's funny what being a parent does to your heart. I could kiss her all day if she'd let me. I also think that photos of her smiling and laughing make the crying spells melt away in my memory. That is until tomorrow when she wakes up and refuses to get dressed or something along those lines. That's why we're getting a large print of her smiling put up on the wall :)

je no parl francias

We took a day during our "spring" break to head up to Montreal Canada. It was a three hour trek there and another three back, but we survived and only argued a handful of times trying to figure out how to get to places. I must say that I did have a bit of culture shock. I really didn't expect everything to be so French and especially didn't expect people to give me blank stares when I asked where the bathroom was- come on it's CANADA! Granted we were in the proud province of Quebec. We only hung out in the old part of town and managed to run into China town too (Ah, I just love the Chinese).I actually felt much happier in China town, due to the fact that I could speak the language and we found my favorite fruit, dragon heart with a side of dragon eyes, which is also a yummy fruit (see picts) that Claire slurped down (the Dragon eye fruit resemble eye balls when peeled, but once you get passed the look, you fall in love with the taste). We also went into Canada's version of Notre Dame, which is in fact really called Notre Dame. I had never been in such an ornate cathedral. it was beautiful and gothic and I really enjoyed it.

On our way home we passed through some great farming towns that was a lot like driving though Idaho. We stopped in at "Le Normand's" (translation- Norm's dinner) and had a country farm French version of Italian. Interesting, but filling.

I also discovered where "little girls room" must have originated from....I did end up finding the bathroom.

Spring Break

I read some book in elementary school that talked about tapping maple trees and making syrup, and I have always had it in the back of my mind. As you can tell, it was mostly frozen and took forever to boil down, but it sure was fun.

... and there was a snowmobile.

And it is spring break - so Claire and I have been having some fun.

The name game....

I may regret asking for this, but hey, it'll be fun.

I am asking for input on this upcoming baby's name. Yes, I am considering serious suggestions, however, there is one rule. It has to go well with the middle name Pearl. That's lyndon's great Grandma's name and I am pretty darn set on giving it to this next baby girl (I mean, if Claire gets her great Grandma Roxy's name, we gotta have another meaningful grandma mentioned in the next child).

So, there ya go....surprise me with all your wonderful ideas, but seriously folks I am open (to serious ideas). I just hate scanning books and Internet for this. It makes my brain tired.

Winner will get the satisfaction of knowing that I went with the name they suggested.

spanks.
