Crazy weekend, 2 month check-up, and driving range...

Michael, Macy, and I had a great, but crazy weekend. We started off Thursday night by going to Tulsa for Maddie and Neil's high school graduation. Congrats you two! Then we left early Friday morning for Weatherford, TX for Eric and Jean's wedding. Michael was a groomsmen, so we had the rehearsal dinner and all that fun stuff. (And that wasn't sarcastic - I actually love doing all the wedding stuff. Michael hates it.) The wedding was Saturday morning and then we went to Van to see my family. I also got to see my friend, Stephanie and her daughter, Presley. By the time we got home on Sunday night, all 3 of us were exhausted. Macy did so great the whole weekend. She slept most of the time in the Jeep while we were driving and still slept through the night while we were gone.

On Monday, we had Macy's 2 month check-up. She is 9 lbs. 3 oz. and 22 1/2 in. long. Dr. Stephens says she looks great. She also had to get her shots, which were not fun. I handled it a lot better than I thought I would. Macy's reaction was actually a little funny. She was smiling and cooing at the nurse and when the nurse stuck her, Macy's face was priceless. It was kind of like, "Why in the world did you just do that to me??" She just cried for a little bit and then she was fine. We also have changed her feeding schedule a little bit and the last two nights Macy went 10 hours between feedings. I hope she keeps this up.

We also made our first trip to the driving range as a family. It was not nearly as fun as I thought it would be. Michael and I both hit terribly and Macy got pretty fussy at the end. I don't think I hit a single good shot. Michael and I also discussed if you could put a car seat on a golf cart...probably not the safest thing in the world.

Here are the pics from our weekend:

On a side note, I promise that I actually own pieces of clothing that aren't black...some are actually white!

Happy 30th Birthday Michael!!!

Today is Michael's 30th birthday! 30 used to sound so old to me, but not so much anymore. (I'm still glad I have 3 years before I turn 30 though - one more good reason to marry an older man!) We had a good day. When Michael got up this morning, Macy and I had breakfast ready for him and a few little presents. Mace and I also made him a card. Michael's big present today was a golf lesson that he had been wanting. (I think he is scared that I'm going to be a better golfer than he is.) We are also planning on taking a trip for both our birthdays this fall. Our birthdays are just 2 weeks apart, so we always try to take a little trip, but this year with Macy, the trip is going to have to wait. We also went to lunch at Louie's with Myra and Becky. Macy and I hope you had a wonderful birthday babe!!

I actually left Macy with Michael twice this week! (Big step for me.) I got to go to dinner and a movie with Brookie and Penny and we had great time. I love hanging out with my girls! Also, I got my hair done today. I think it kinda threw Macy off because I came home with my hair shorter, strait, and down. (It's usually curly in a ponytail...AKA not fixed!)

Here are some birthday pictures of Michael and Macy:

Here are some pictures that I have been meaning to post for awhile now:

Here is Macy with my Mom. Yes, we are in church, but my Mom wanted a picture. If you know my Mother, you'll understand! (I love you Mama :)

Here are a couple of pics where I was trying to get a shot of her smiling:

This picture cracks me up. This is how I found Macy one morning. She had her litte rear end scooted up against the side of the pack 'n play with her legs straight up in the air.
After a bath...

Here are some pictures from Mother's Day:

Macy loves sleeping like this. Don't worry, she only sleeps on her tummy during the day when I'm watching her.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers reading this! We've enjoyed an excellent first Mother's Day. No, it did not start with breakfast in bed. Actually, I must confess, that Katie made breakfast (not in bed) for me. It was very good. No, I did not do anything for Katie for Mother's Day. Yes, you read that correctly. Why did I not get anything for Katie? Because she is not my mother! The reason why it has been such a good Mother's Day is because our daughter is the most highly developed almost eight week old girl in the world. Even though she has not said her first word, she, somehow, composed a poem for her mother! The poem was entitled "Mommy, I want to be just like you." To keep the government from taking her away to do all sorts of weird tests, we will not be publicizing the text of the poem. But, rest assured, that the poem brought just the right reaction from Katie. After reading Macy's poem to Katie, we finished getting ready and went to church. After class, Katie decided she wanted Outback for lunch. I figured that on Mother's Day, most mothers would not choose Outback for their lunch. Thankfully, I am blessed to have a great woman, who would choose a steak place for Mother's Day. I thought it was more a Father's Day choice. Yes, I was wrong. We arrived at about 11:15 and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Thankfully, we only waited about 10 minutes. Oh, we also took just a few pictures (read with a lot of sarcasm). As stated, we've had an excellent day. There are more pictures, but I will let Katie post those later this week. Have a great week!
