6 Months Old!

Sorry for the delay in the 6 month post!  We've been BUSY!!!

6 Month Stats:
Weight: 15 lbs, 6 oz (10-25%)
Height: 26 inches (50%)
Head: 17.3 inches (75%)
So still a little guy!! (sidenote....my mom looked up my info at 6 months and I was 15lbs, 2 oz and 28 inches tall, so I was little and tall like Caleb:)

Caleb is wearing 6 month clothes, size 2 diapers, and is a MOVER!  I don't think he ever stops moving when he is awake.  Whether it's his legs that move to tell us he wants more food or bottle or when he's in the Jumperoo or playing on the floor....he's ALWAYS moving!  He sits very stable, can move on his tummy 360 degrees, can get on his back legs and scoot around to get his favorite toys, gets up on all 4's and rocks (he's bound to be crawling soon!), puts every single thing available in his mouth (toes, socks, toys, remote control, etc.), and laughs at all kinds of stuff (fake falling, tickling, blowing on his neck, the dogs, animal sounds, Mommy's singing, etc).  He's still not talking with actual consonants....just oohs and aahs, squawks, screeches, and other random sounds, but he definitely has lots to say!
He likes Sonic drinks...what can I say?!
Caleb had his first taste of rice cereal earlier this month at about 5.5 months old.  He loves eating though he ends up a complete mess by the end!!  We have an independent child on our hands who already wants to feed himself with this spoon and thus gets food everywhere!  It's hilarious!  We started some other foods after he turned 6 months old, but we'll save that stuff for his 7 month post:)
"Rice cereal is....interesting" - Caleb
I love watching him learn new things and truly this parenting thing is getting more and more fun each day.  At first, it was so much change for me (I'm not good at change AT ALL!) and now it just feels so normal.  I try to be relaxed and fun and not stress out at the little things which can be hard for my Type A personality.  I'm praying for God's grace to work that out in me!!!
Caleb LOVES playing catch!
(Sorry that he's pantsless...it was after naptime and no one wants to sleep in jeans!)

Anyways...hopefully if you are reading this you will get our Christmas card sometime soon.  One of our good friends, Brittney Davis, took the family pictures for our card and also Caleb's 6 month pictures.  She is awesome with the camera outside and so great with kids (she's got 2 fabulous ones of her own!).  If you are interested in pictures with her, let me know and I can get you and her connected.  Here's a small sneak peak with more of her pics to be posted after our cards are all out...

Merry Christmas y'all!!

5 months old!!

Caleb is 5 months old!  He is in size 1-2 diapers and FINALLY in 3-6 month clothes all the time!  He has had a great month....learned to fall asleep on his own in his crib without crying anymore (Mommy & Daddy are SO thankful for this!  This means he can wake up in the middle of the night and put himself back to sleep, along with putting himself to sleep for naps, rather than us rocking him forever!), learned to sit up on his own without support, and is talking and laughing all the time.  We don't understand him yet, but I'm pretty sure he is saying some very important things!

He is such a happy, easy-going baby.  Most of the time when we pick him up from his school or the church nursery, all the kids are crying and Caleb is sitting in a swing or somewhere just watching them all cry.  He's been to lots of football games this last month, the Pumpkin Patch, and also got to dress up as a monkey for Halloween!  He also had his first little sickness in the middle of October with fever, congestion, and an ear infection.  But after a round of antibiotics and lots of TLC from Momma, Daddy, Grammy, Poppa, Nana, & Coach, he was feeling much better.  Here are his 5 month pictures along with pictures from October!

Pumpkin Patch!

On Sunday Lauren, Caleb, and I went to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch.  Caleb was enthralled the whole time with everything around him.  He was watching the train, hayride, other people, and all the pumpkins.  We did get some good pictures though!

4 Months Old!

Caleb is 4 months old....look at this cutie!!

He's such a happy little baby as the picture shows!  He's still in size 1 diapers (sometimes size 1-2) and can still wear his 0-3 month clothes, though Mommy likes for him to wear some new things, so she sometimes puts him in the 3-6 month clothes:)  He went to the doctor today and was 12lbs, 11oz which puts him in the 10-15% for weight and he is 24.3inches tall so the 40-50% for height.  He's just a little guy, but I promise, he eats really really well!!

New accomplishments and activities this past month: sucking thumb, grabbing at feet, holding onto bottle some of the time, putting toys in his mouth, playing in the Jumperoo, splashing everywhere in the bathtub, watching the dogs everywhere they go, watching Sesame Street (he loves it!), and the biggest...SLEEPING THRU THE NIGHT!!  It might have been a tease though, because he did it one night, then woke up at least once for the next 3 nights, then slept 11 nights in a row from around 7:00pm to 7:00am and then has been waking up again for the last couple of nights.  We're starting some sleep training things this week, so hopefully we can get him back sleeping better soon.

Caleb got to go some fun places over the past month...got to go on the field at Cowboys Stadium with Mommy & Daddy and Nana & Coach  before the Guyer/Cedar Hill high school football game...we've got connections:), went to one of Daddy's middle school football games at Guyer, to Traildust for some good food and dancing for Coach's birthday, to Grammy & Poppa's house to play while Mommy was working and Daddy had football stuff, and a couple of long walks at South Lakes Park with Mom.

Caleb's got his overalls on for some country dancin'!

Happy baby!

Tired boy who was interested in looking at everything at the big stadium!

We love being parents and we love Caleb so much and think he is just the most amazing and wonderful thing in the world!  And that big smile that he gives makes you feel like you are the coolest thing in the world to him too!

3 Month Pics

Caleb had his 3 month pictures taken by a teacher at Matt's school who is trying to get her photography business started.  She hadn't taken many pictures of babies, but we think she did a great job.  Her business is called The Proof is Yours and her website is: theproofisyours.com.
Blue-eyed boy

This is probably my favorite...love the little look in his eye:)

Matt & I think these hats are silly, but he is still cute!

Sitting on a suitcase.  Hoping he loves to travel like we do!

Love this one too!

Looks like he could get mad in just a few seconds!

Love this one too....with his little smirk!

not sure how she got him to keep his feet still.  He's such a little MOVER!
Can't believe he will be 4 months old in just a few days!

3 Months Old!

Sorry I'm a little behind with the blog.  I went back to work toward the end of August and even though I'm only working two 12-hour shifts/week, I still can't seem to find time to sit down and post!

Our little buddy turned 3 months old on August 31st!  He has changed so much since last month...he's talking and smiling and laughing all the time, holding his head up so well, rolling over (both stomach to back and back to stomach), he loves to read and play with toys and hold all kinds of things.  We love hanging out with him!

Caleb weighed 12 lbs. and was 24 inches long, still wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 months clothes.  He is getting a little tall for some of his clothes, but he's so little around his tummy that things seem to fit alright still.  He loves the activity mat, the bumbo seat, his mamaroo swing (sometimes), his bouncer, splashing in the tub during bathtime, and just watching mommy and daddy do things.

He was sleeping pretty long stretches (like 7-9 hours), then we moved him up to his crib when he was 11 weeks old and he started waking up every 4-5 hours again.  The trek up the stairs can seem really long in the middle of the night!  Surely he will start sleeping longer soon!  We took Caleb to the church nursery for the first time at 11.5 weeks old and he also started "school" (aka daycare) this month when mommy went back to work.

You can see his little personality developing...he's so calm and really doesn't cry much.  So when he does cry and fuss, we know something is wrong!  When he's in a new environment or somewhere there is a lot going on, you can see him just taking everything in as he looks around and learns about everything around him.  I love watching him do that.

Here are some pictures from the last month:

Talking & Rolling!!

I took this video last Friday morning, 8/19 and sent it to Matt as a little treat for him.  He had a busy week with the upcoming start of school and football stuff and was missing Caleb:)  Please ignore my silly tongue sounds....Caleb LOVES them!  He's quite a little talker.  I think he got that from me and not Matt!

And then yesterday (Wednesday 8/24), Caleb was playing on the floor and all of the sudden rolled over.  It didn't startle him or anything...he must have been determined to do it!  He has been showing signs of rolling for awhile, but I thought he might go back to tummy first because he would try so hard in his crib.  But here he is going from tummy to back.  And again, ignore my wrong reference of what he is doing...I was tired:)

And then here's another cute photo of my little buddy....
