Happy New Years!!!!

Happy New Year's Eve and New Year, everyone! I realize New Year's Day isn't until tomorrow, but I was afraid if I didn't wish you a Happy New Year now, it would be Valentine's when I realize that I forgot. Does that make sense? Any who, this will be the sixth year in a row that I resolve to be more positive. Here's the difference, this year, I'm going to try to make it all the way to next year. So no negativity until January 2010. See usually, about three to six months into my new positive attitude something happens and I say, "oh forget positivity," followed by several "negative" phrases in a row. It's what I do. But this year, this year, will be different. Because I have you my lovely friends! If you notice I'm being negative, please leave a comment and say something like, "Sweet Sonia, I understand life is never fair to you, and that you are the most unlucky person in the world, but keep your chin up, your time will come!" So sweet, I know! That's the point, be nice about it. You all know how easily my little feelings get hurt! Although, that is another thing I'm going to try out...not having my feelings hurt so easily, but I don't want to overdue it, so I'm not promising that one through next January. Got a problem with that? Well, take it up with someone else, because I'm not listening...la la la la la! J/K you know how I am. Anyways, I'm off to make some snacks to take to my parents house for our New Year's celebration. I'll try to remember my camera and take some pictures. Still not promising anything...I'm a little tired today, so my memory isn't going to work so well. Btw, it's still December, so a little negativity in this post is just my way of cleansing my soul for the long journey ahead. Okay, I think that's all for now...peace out!!!!!

Christmas Morning

Here are some pictures from Christmas morning. Avery excited to see what Santa brought, Aidan not sure what's happening, and Adam Jr. happy to have gotten what he wanted. Then there's the picture of Aidan and Avery in front of her dollhouse, notice Aidan holding his Lightening McQueen car, he hasn't let go of it since he got it, and Avery posing as usual. Also, notice Adam's Tony Romo jersey, too bad it was too big. I hear they had the same problem at the Pratt household. Sorry about that Veronica and Toby!!!! Here's to hoping the Cowboys make it to the playoffs. Fingers crossed!!!!

Snow in Mansfield part two

Okay, so technically it didn't snow in Mansfield, but I swear my kitchen looked like it did. We made sugar cookies last week and for once I remembered to document it. There was powdered sugar and flour everywhere, that's why I say it snowed in Mansfield. It really did look like it though, sadly this snow doesn't melt, but leaves yeti footprints all over the hardwood floors. Whoo hoo!
Avery was nice enough to wear her apron. I tried to put a bib on Aidan, one that covers his entire upper body, but he wasn't having that. He hasn't worn a bib since he was about a year old. He hates how confining they are. At least that's the excuse he gave me all those months ago. Such a picky child.

The top plate has Aidan's creations and the bottom has Avery's. When it came time to frost the cookies, AJ was totally OVER IT! In fact, I'm surprised he took a break from texting to help us cut out the cookies. That only lasted about five minutes then he got extremely annoyed by his little sister and gave up. Kids, what can you do? I'll take five minutes over zero though, that's for sure. Oh, and Aidan was napping during the cut-out phase, but was wide awake during the icing. Yea me! Notice his shirt covered in snow a.k.a powdered sugar/flour? He did help make the dough for the cookies before his nap, so he helped spread the white stuff all over the kitchen.

Oh, I had to include the picture of Adam's head looking like the earth, just for documentation sake. I didn't want to forget about the time he thought it would be cool to let the girls at school spray paint his head blue and green. He scares me a little. He's just a bit too much like his dad. Weird that is, j/k AJ. You are soo not weird!!!!! And FYI, the spray paint came right out of his hair, unlike the purple stuff that has been in Avery's hair since July. Phew, thank goodness!!!! That would've been bad!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Okay, so I'm a day late with this, but hello, if I was early it wouldn't be me! Sounds good, right? Anyways, I have lots to write about, but it'll have to wait until I have a little more time. Until then, I just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and a most wonderful new year! Our Christmas was fantastic, so now I'm just hoping for that wonderful new year. Maybe one with not so much drama! A girl can dream can't she? Although, then I'd have nothing to write about because I'd have nothing to complain about! I know, way to be positive! See that, I turned over a new leaf in five seconds flat, yea me!!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Well, today is mine and Adam's thirteenth anniversary. Crazy how fast time flies! It seems like we just got married a few years ago. Anyway, to celebrate, we went to Salt Lake City for the weekend. I had never been before and it was soooo much fun. We had a great time. Especially seeing all the snow. I have to admit, it did take me a while to get used to being away from the kids. I cried pretty much every hour, on the hour all day Friday! Pathetic I know, but I really missed them, and I've never left them overnight. Well, except while I was in the hospital and they were with their Dad, so that doesn't really count. Any who, back to the story. We got to go to Temple Square, and we did a lot of shopping in Park City, they have an outlet mall there. So much shopping and eating, that's really all I need to relax, lol! Anyways, we did go to the Family History Library too, and did some genealogy for my side of the family. It was sooo cool, and so much fun! Anyways, thanks to everyone who helped with my kids so I could go, you guys are the best! And, thanks for taking me Adam, I had lots of fun! Happy Anniversary...I love you!

Avery's Christmas Program

Posted by Picasa

Here are some pictures from Avery's Christmas program Tuesday night. It was really cute! AJ just got back from going to NASA in Houston about 15 minutes before the program. Avery was afraid he wouldn't make it. Aidan decided he wanted to be in the program and kept screaming at the top of his lungs, telling everyone what he wanted for Christmas, and singing songs. I had to keep trying to cover his mouth. Silly boy! Avery was sooo happy to be on stage, as you can see. She was definitely in her element.

Happy Birthday Adam Jr.!!!

The first picture I had to include because Adam has been making that face a lot recently, not sure why, but that's Adam for you! Anyways, today is Adam's 12th birthday so I had to post a message for him, and list the twelve things I love about him, so here goes.
1. His sense of humor, the kid makes me laugh all the time. As much as he tries to act grown-up now that he's a preteen, there are times when the little kid in him comes smiling through. Like the top photo. Anyways, thanks for the past twelve years of amusement AJ.
2. He's so stinkin' smart. Too smart really! It can cause constant debates between us, but he does raise good points and lots of times he has a way of converting my view point! Hmm...maybe that's not something I should love, lol!
3. He's sweet as sugar. Seriously, he can be the sweetest kid in the world. I remember one time when he was three and I had strep throat, he laid in the bed with me, watched a movie and patted my hand the entire time. He just kept telling me, "It's okay mommy, Adam's here!" So sweet...he always knows when I'm feeling bad, and he knows just how to make me feel better!
4. His eyes, he's got the most beautiful hazel/green eyes. I swear that's how he gets me to do everything he wants. And those freckles...there's no hope for me!
5. His self confidence...he knows he can do anything he wants to if he sets his mind to it. He's soo sure of himself, not in a conceited way that is, and knows there's nothing he can't do. I have always struggled with self confidence, so the fact that he believes in himself is a huge relief to me.
6. He's the best big brother in the world. Although they fight like most brothers and sisters, Adam loves his little sister and brother, more than anything. He helps me out with them all the time. Especially right now that I'm recovering from surgery. If I need to lay down for a little while he'll take them upstairs and play with them until I've had a chance to nap. It's really great having him around, he really is a wonderful help to me and I sooo appreciate him.
7. "His voice, he makes me melt like a Popsicle on the fourth of July!" Okay, so I stole that one from Darla on the Little Rascals, but seriously his singing is amazing. He's got a great ear, so his pitch is always spot on! Beautiful!
8. He's such a great athlete. There's not a sport he can't play. The kid is a natural. He loves to play anything and everything. He is constantly moving, so obviously he loves exercise. Again, another thing I struggle with that I'm glad he doesn't. He even played football Thanksgiving morning when he had been up vomiting all night. Crazy kid!!!
9. His personality. He is a great friend to everyone! He's never met a person he didn't like! If he knows someone is having a bad day, he is the first to go up to them and make sure everythings okay. He hates to see people unhappy. He's just a really compassionate person, and I'm soo thankful for that.
10. He teaches me things all the time. I learn things from him that I never knew. Whether it has to do with academic things or spiritual things, I'm amazed at his amount of knowledge. And soo grateful that he shares the wealth, lol!
11. His height, I'm soo glad he's going to be tall. That way when I'm old and frail he can carry me around, lol! Seriously though, I hated being teased about my short stature when I was younger, so I'm soo happy he doesn't have to worry about that.
12. His vocabulary. He's such a smart cookie that he is able to get his message across to people without resorting to "colorful language," as he calls it. He told a friend last year that he was going to get him a dictionary for Christmas, so he could find other words to use in place of his usual curse words. You go Adam!
Don't get me wrong, he's still a preteen and he still gets into the usual trouble, but he's the best preteen I know and I'm soooo happy he's mine. I love you Adam Jr., you are one of the best sons ever. Definitely the best 12 year old, lol! I love you lots and I'm soo proud of the young man you are becoming. Happy Birthday Honey Bunny!!!!

New Pictures

Well, my SIL Candra was in town, so we took advantage and took pictures of each others family. I did the ones of the kids alone, but Candra was kind enough to do the family photos. We wanted to make sure to get one for Christmas cards, and I think we did. Aside, from Aidan's shirt doing something strange, this was my favorite one! Thanks for your help Candra!!!! I took pictures of her family as well, and hopefully she got some good ones! We'll see! It was a bit of a workout since I'm still recovering from surgery, but I figured, if I didn't get the pictures done soon, I probably wouldn't get them done at all! So, I sucked it up, and we got the pictures done, phew! Now, I can rest. I hope, anyways!!!!

Happy Birthday Alicia!

Okay, so technically her birthday isn't until tomorrow, but I will be in surgery, so I have to wish her a "Happy Birthday" early! She is one of my best friends in the whole entire world, and she also happens to be one of my guardian angels. Do you want to know why? Because she is always there for me! I have too many examples, but let's just start with what she's doing on her birthday, tomorrow, the day of my surgery. She's watching my children...on her birthday? Who does that? Isn't that soooo sweet. Anyways, she also had a little birthday lunch for Avery when she turned two, and I was on bed rest with Aidan. Isn't that sooo great! Really, she's my guardian angel. There are a million more stories, but I will get carpal tunnel if I write them all down. You know I would! You want to know what stinks though...she had a heck of a time with her third child and was in the hospital for a while and really sick, and do you know where I was? In Katy, that's where, unable to help AT ALL! I am the worst friend ever, she is the best! How's that for a pairing? Anyways, I hope you have a great birthday Alicia, you really deserve it!!!! I can't wait to get this surgery/recovery over so we can have a HUGE CELEBRATION! Are you in? So, if you see Alicia today, tomorrow or sometime soon, make sure you tell her "Happy Birthday," and "Sonia says thanks a million!" Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...yadda yadda yadda!!!!

Don't forget about the open house!

It's this Friday the 14th, from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 6 p.m. to 9:30. There will be lots of stuff to choose from, if you want to get some of your Christmas shopping out of the way. And, there will be a Christmas card make and take, prizes and food! What more could you want? It'll be fun! I hope you'll make it!!!!

Oral Surgery Whoo hoo!

So I went to the Endodontist yesterday and I'm scheduled for my oral surgery on the 18th of December. Yea me!!! Can't wait! Oh, and get this, I get to have about fourteen sutures in my mouth, whoo hoo! I know, you're sooo jealous. Then five days later, I'll have them removed, just in time for Christmas Eve. So, it'll be a nice diet to go on right before Christmas, that way I can gain back any weight I lose in those five days! That's one positive way to look at it, right? Not that I couldn't stand to lose a few pounds and NOT gain them back, but lets be realistic. Lately pounds are loving me! They love to settle in and not budge, no matter what I do! Ahh...getting older. You gotta love it! Surgery, weight gain, what's not to love?

Avery's pumpkin and Avery the Diva

I forgot to show you guys the picture of the pumpkin Avery painted at school. She was sooo proud of it, and I thought it turned out really great. Very colorful and fun, just like her! She had lots of fun doing it, but it sure did take a long time to dry! Oh well, as long as she enjoyed it, right?
The other picture is one I took when she was posing for me the other day. I told you she's a diva. Anyways, I thought that picture suited her perfectly, so I thought I'd share! I'm off to clean the house! I know, BORING! Sorry, but everyday can't be all fun and games, or can it?

AJ's project

I just have to show you guys something Adam did for school. He had to do a photography project and decided to enter the experimental category. He wanted to see what would happen if he took a picture of himself in two mirrors that weren't facing eachother, just next to eachother. If that makes sense. He wanted to see how many Adams would turn out. It turned out to only be two at the angle the mirrors were at, but he then edited it to make it black and white and cropped it. I thought it turned out really cool, and so I wanted to post it on my blog. Don't tell him about it though, he may not be too happy about me posting his stuff.

I love Senior Citizens!!!

I was at Hobby Lobby today with Aidan, since Ave and Adam were both at school, and we had lots of shopping to do. It's kind of hard to keep Aidan entertained long enough so that I can "really" look at the beads I need to get. So, he usually gets something out of my purse to play with and today it was my phone. He was having a grand ole time with it, pretending to talk to, if I had to guess Avery! Then this nice little old man came up and started talking to Aidan, and Aidan was all too happy to explain he was talking on "mommy's phone!" The man stood there and talked to him for a good five minutes and I swear he knew exactly what Aidan was talking about. He had Aidan giggling and pointing at the phone and me! It was too funny! So, then the man leaves and a little old lady walks up and starts chatting him up! He was loving all the attention! He didn't even need my phone anymore! He was so entertained by his conversations that I was able to finish up and get the things I needed with hardly any hassle at all! It was amazing! Aidan was so well behaved that on our way out, I let him get some silly putty! He was so excited! As we were leaving, the little old man he'd seen earlier saw him and said, "Hey little buddy, I see you're off the phone now!" To which Aidan responded, "Yeah...I got silly putty!" Then he giggled, and so did the little old man! It was too cute! So this is why I LOVE senior citizens. They make my shopping trips so much happier when we run into them!

Don't Forget to Vote!

Just wanted to remind everyone to vote! I'm off to pick-up Avery from school, but I thought I'd post a little reminder for those of you who haven't voted yet!!!! Have a good one!

Julie B.
Kristin K.
Alyssa W.

Sorry, I had to include an extra in case some of you decided against doing it!

Holy Macaroni!

Okay, you are not going to believe this. I have an abcessed tooth. Or would it be an abcess on my tooth? You know what I mean. Anyways, this sucker has sucked all the energy I had left in me out! And, I didn't even have much to begin with! It gets better though. See, about six or seven years ago I had a root canal on this tooth. And, voila...it's back and worse. Apparently sometimes root canals can go bad and you either have to re-do it or have surgery. Surgery? Another one? One isn't enough? Anyways, I'm sure it's nothing compared to my hysterectomy, but seriously I wouldn't have minded waiting until the spring to have another surgery. Well, I go in for my consult with the Endodontist on the same day I have my pre-op for my hysterectomy. Fun, I know! Anyways, I thought you guys might appreciate the dark cloud that is looming over my home. If you are out and about, you should drive by and check it out. It's fascinating. Although, now with this second problem I'm hoping it's on its way out. I'd rather not have a third thing, but blasted if things don't always happen in threes. Hmm...maybe the third could be easy and not painful. I can barely eat, and it's starting to hurt to talk. Oh well, I'm sure my kids and hubby aren't too sad about that one! That's okay, I can write things down in BLACK ALL CAPS, that way they'll know I mean business! What do you think? Good idea...I know!!! Oh, did I mention I had a stomach virus yesterday? Huh, maybe that's the third thing and the cloud can leave. A girl can dream can't she!!!!!

Facebook | My Friends' Posted Items

Check out this link: Facebook My Friends' Posted Items

My friend Nabeel was voted one of D/FW's best Sleep Medicine Doctors! You'll have to scroll down to Nabeels post, and then click on it! Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy, so I have to do this the difficult way, lol! Pretty cool though, huh? You go Nabeel! Oh, and if you live in the D/FW area and are having problems sleeping, now you know who to call! Oh, and you're welcome!!!

Whaaat a day!

Okay, this should be the last post for today! I'm a little exhausted. Obviously all of these events didn't happen today, but typing all of it sure does make my hands cramp! Anyways, I always find it interesting that my kids like to do the same type of things on a daily basis. So, the other day, I decided to photograph their day! Of course, that's not including all of Avery's clothing changes and the usual daily occurrences. You know, eating, napping, cleaning and bathing. So, this is a typical day for them. Coloring in their office, the bench and their table and small chairs, and play-doh. Oh, and of course monkey see, monkey do. Not a day goes by that Aidan doesn't want to do what Ave does. Oh, and it all ends with a late night, around 8:30, snack of pickles. There were a few other activities that went undocumented, but those change daily, so I didn't feel the need to photograph those. You know, different games to play or books to read. Let's just say, the only way to keep Avery happy, is to keep her busy!

3rd place

S'up?

Adam's team finally had their final ballgame for the season last night! One of their games kept getting rained out and re-scheduled. Anyways, the season really ended two weeks ago, I think. Well, Adam and I both missed his last game, but my Dad was there as usual. Thanks again for taking him Dad. Adam Sr. was out of town for a work, "retreat!" And I was at home a little under the weather still, with two sick kiddos. Anyways, wouldn't you know they decided to go ahead and hand out the trophies last night. Didn't even bother to warn us, so we could be there, or make arrangements to get pictures, but whatever. Such is life, right? Oh, but it gets better, Adam gets home from the game and tells me that the whole team was going out to dinner. Well, everyone BUT HIM! Hmmm...couldn't have sent an email to let us know they were going to hand out trophies and go to dinner? I guess that would be too much to ask! Whateve! Remember how I said I'm getting easily irritated by people lately? Yeah, it hasn't changed! Anyways, my poor son had to miss out on the celebration and we had to miss out on the pictures. So, I'll just have to post a picture from the preseason tournament, in order to congratulate my little champion. Way to go Adam/Addy! We love you bud, sorry we missed it! I'm such a loser!!!!

Avery's school party!

Avery had her first school party today. It was a fall/costume party. She had a lot of fun, and even shared her treats and drink with Aidan. He was there with me, but he was being a little camera shy, so there are no pictures of him. He had a blast too though, since he was included in the snacks and all! It was cute! She was awfully sad that Samantha wasn't there though! There's always next time!

My silly monkey!

So have you ever wondered what Aidan does when the others are at school? I like making Adam and Avery seem odd, by calling them the others, in case you were wondering! Well, aside from the usual shopping and possible lunch, we mostly hang out! Just the two of us! Nice and relaxed and easy. So easy! It just so happens that my little monkey loves puzzles, and Tuesday I found one he hadn't seen since the move. He really enjoyed it! It captivated him for an hour, no lie! Plus, he kept laying his head on it to hear the different animal sounds. I think the batteries are dying so it's not very loud. I had to get pics of it though, because he was just so funny! Oh, and notice the other puzzles too! He played with those after he had his hour long fill of the animal sounds. Silly boy!
