Picking Raspberries and Vegetables

Corbin and I went to the U-Pick farm in Palmer, AK and got some kohlrabi. It tastes like a mixture between a potato, a cabbage, and a radish with some sugar in it. It's delicious.

We also picked raspberries. We went home and made raspberry muffins that called for an entire stick of butter. Yummy!

Singing in the Rain

Corbin and I went out to play in the rain one day. We were trying to master getting a picture of each other in mid-air. Took us a while but we got it down.

First Grader

Here is Corb and I starting first grade. I am so excited for him!

First of all I do not know why this picture will NOT download right side up. I seriously need to take a computer class.

ANYWAY, here is the story behind this picture.

I drove and hour to a mountain range called Hatcher's Pass. I hiked 30 minutes up the mountain and picked Alaskan wild blueberries and hiked back out.

I removed all the foliage from the berries and washed them. I mashed them in the food processor and then added 14 cups of sugar. With a little lemon juiced and pectin I made Alaskan blueberry jam.

THEN I canned it and sealed it. It was my first time.

I am feeling so domestic and awesome right now.

Water Balloon Fight

Garland and Nicole Pierce had their baby last night. They called me at 3:00a.m. to come over and stay overnight with James. Garland came home in the morning and gave me 200 already filled water balloons that they were going to take on a campout that day. He also made a slingshot. I definitely think we got the better end of this deal in the end. They boys had a blast. No pun intended.

Random Sampler

The boys had a train going one evening. It got pretty rowdy and crazy as things often do in our hours. I love it.

I looked over one day at the park and found my boys like this.
This is the diaper cake Steph and I made for Terra's baby shower.

Birthday Treats

I forgot to post all of my birthday treats my men made me. They were in the kitchen ALL MORNING making me yummy stuff.

I didn't want a cake. All I wanted was chocolate covered strawberries.

They ended up making me some other things too like while chocolate bars in cool shapes.
And a brownie, Andes mint, whip cream concoctions that was to die for!
Happy Birthday to me! I am so spoiled.

Eklutna Lake

Yesterday we biked at Eklutna Lake. They boys went 10 miles! That was quite a feat for the little Corbster. Interestingly enough we don't have a single picture of us on our bikes.

Jared was heaving large rocks into the water and then spinning around and trying to hit that rock in midair with another rock.
My camera wasn't quite quick enough to capture the scene.
There was a treasure of perfect skipping rocks on this bank and we were being tutored by Jared on how to skip them. I got one to skip 7 times thank you very much.

Corbin is hysterical in this video. I asked him while I was downloading it what all the weird dancing was and he said, "I had to pee." Well alrighty then.

Jared is part of an Airborne Unit which means he parachutes out of airplanes. He has to jump every three months to stay current. When the soldiers first learn to parachute they train on this 30 foot tower and zip line. The Battalion threw a family fun day and all family member had the opportunity to jump out of the tower.

Here is Gavin, Asher, and me getting our gear on and getting ready. Corbin decided to be strictly a camera man.

These videos take a few minutes to download so click play and then go check your banking or email and come back. :o)
Asher blazed the way by jumping out of the tower first.

Here is Gavin jumping out of the jump tower.

This is me jumping out of the jump tower.
