A baseball weekend.

Between the two of them, we had a total of 8 baseball games to attend to this weekend. We managed to dodge most of the weather, except for the wind today.

Only in Atchison

Since the games were rained out today, we headed to A town to visit the cousins.
Grant and Josh went with Uncle Bill to hunt for mushrooms. I didn't realize there was such an event, but like my title says, only in Atchison. Too bad this was the only one they came up with today. Not much to fry up tonight.
And then there was Mitch, who is going to kill me for posting this, but it was a good laugh. He and Micah obviously played dress up. Good thing Dad wasn't around. I must say, blue is His color.

Rain, rain, go away.........

After a very long rain delay, the boys finally got to play some baseball on Saturday in KC. Grant's first game was supposed to start at 10:00, but got pushed till 4, and of course, Mitch's that was supposed to be at noon, got pushed till 4 as well. Grant then played again at 10:00 PM!! After listening to the rain all night Saturday, the tournament was called off all together on Sunday. Bummer!

Thanks Doc!

It was time for Mitch's stitches to come out, and there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I thought I would get him back in today, but ran out of time before baseball practice. Just so happens that one of the dad's on Mitch's team is an OB. He takes stitches out, right? Thanks for the after hours office visit Dr. P.

A Family Affair

Some big shoes to fill. And some big arm pits.
We enjoyed SEVERAL hours at The College Basketball Experience with the fam, and Scott's Dad and sister as well. I think that I am still sore! The boys would have stayed all day, but the rest of us were ready to eat. I don't think that I missed my calling for radio/TV. When it was Scott's turn to read, my lips were still moving reading them under my breath. Looked hilarious to watch back on the big screen.

A Good Friday

We had to pass a few undesired neighborhoods to get there, but once we arrived, we had a great time. I am pretty sure the boys got the picture as time seemed to stand still at the light at the corner of The Paseo. Bars on the house windows, pit bull on no leash in the front yard, and a little bit of street ball. We were beginning to think the light was never going to turn green!
At last, we made it. Amazing how quickly the scenery changes in such a short time.

I was fortunate to get Good Friday off, so the boys and I headed to meet Aunt Christy Friday afternoon at the zoo before the Easter weekend.

Note to Self.......

If you are going to use one of these devices to work on hand-eye coordination with your 7 year old...........
Make sure that he swings the bat a little bit harder so that the bat doesn't bounce back up and hit him in the face.
Scott had to take Mitch to the ER this evening after things didn't work out so well with the batting lesson. Thanks to the neighbors who came to pick up Grant, who was about to pass out after watching a little too closely. (I will still on my way back from KC)

Mitch was quite a trooper tonight, and a little excited that he was going to look like a "man" with 6 stitches.

Whoops

This poor little birdie found it's way under Scott's hood on his way home from KC.

Playing baseball in football weather

We traveled to KC this weekend for Grant's first baseball tournament of the season. It was sooooo cold. They played Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They ended up winning all of their games and walked away with first place. Way to go Titans!
