My dear friend and neighbor from Virginia just sent me this...

A fawn followed this beagle home -- right through the doggie door -- in the Bittinger area. The owner came home to find the visitor had made himself right at home.
So we went to McDonald's yesterday for lunch (the food was terrible, btw) and they had a HUGE vertical indoor playground....the tube slide was comprabable to the one in this picture and there were all those tubs and tunnels to crawl through & J.R. went to the VERY TOP all by himself in less than no time by climbing UP the slide...I just still can't believe he did that...he seemed to LOVE every minute of it and I had to go up to get him down b/c he just seemed to little to be crawling around up in the rafters. Anna Kate NEVER enters enclosed playgrounds...she stays at the bottom and supervises other children coming in and out.
Anna Kate's never hesitated to help herself to her own food and meals and basically just run things around the house...but she can't reach the microwave and when the only food you've got in the house is t.v. dinners, that can be a problem.
Little Pea Mureen is 9 1/2 weeks, looks great, has a healthy heartbeat and is not twins!! All great news, YAY! (I'm always relieved when it's not twins just b/c I can barely handle adding 1 at a time and there's always a small chance it could be twins even without using fertility drugs or having them in our family...I mean stranger things have happened). It was so great to see my OB/GYN, too....I just totally love her!!! Check out my poll on the right of whether it's a boy or girl??? p.s. This is my 100th post!
Anna Kate calls Mammaw all the time these days since she figured out Mammaw is the pink (Mammaw's cell phone) or orange (Mammaw and Bubba's home phone) My Faves (it's a T-Mobile thing) buttons on my cell phone. Now she knows her friend Trey is the green button, but at least she usually asks me if she can call him (and I say, "no" b/c ladies don't call boys) so then she just says she's calling Libby, his mom. The other two buttons are Jon's work and cell numbers...she likes to call him, too....and those are my top 5 people I call so I (and Anna Kate) get unlimited cell phone minutes with them...what a great deal.

Maybe my mom will see this and realize she needs to stop living a million miles away and move to a distance where she can be of more help like every one else's moms ;)
Ok, so here it is. This week had a lot of up and downs for me and I haven't felt overly inspired to take pictures and blog b/c we've spent most of the week in our pjs...
:) Monday and Tuesday - new floors and getting to hang out with Libby a lot which got it off to a great start
:( Wed - I got sick with a horrible exhausting cold that has finally gotten better today
:) Fri - I saw a dear friend, Jenn, who came over for dinner with her husband Matt as they were passing through town which was fabulous as I hadn’t seen her since I was in her wedding a year ago (wish I'd gotten a pic of us together!)
:( Saturday - yard work and cleaning instead of just enjoying the family time (the only picture from the week...I was hoping for a dramatic before and after from scrubbing the tile with an oxyclean solution, but the results didn't look dramatic when I was done, I think it smelled better though! Who knew unsealed grout could smell a little mildewy over time?)
:) Sunday (today) has been restful, for which I am thankful and I got to eat some delicious fried catfish for dinner which I have totally been craving and we got to take a family walk and I always feel better about our weekends when we get to take a family walk during it.
:) Oh and J.R. took some first little baby steps this week without holding onto anything!!!
We got rid of all the carpet in our entry, living room, dining room, hall & guest bathroom and I am just so happy b/c that carpet was so dirty and worn-out...we are so happy with our new floors :)
We went to a fun birthday party last night...Ellie turned 3! J.R. was all about the playground...
and going down the slide...
and going back to do it again over and over...
Anna Kate was all about her lollipop :)
Jon spent all day yesterday in 100+ degree weather working on a project to keep our dog, Ty, from digging out of our yard...and we've tried everything from pouring cement in his holes to shock collars to keep him contained so this is our last hope....chicken wire...our grass will re-grow through it. It seems like we're always having to out-smart our naughty pets somehow...we like to think we're saving them both from certain euthenasia if any other pet-owner got a hold of them because they are so bad. Anna Kate often says, "NO! Bad girl, Ty!" But he's actually a neutered male :)
I have to put the table on the carpet b/c sometimes J.R. topples in his chair and he's a little high off the ground for his height.
