thanks-full

I do my best to be thankful everyday but
on Thanksgiving it's baked into the foundation of the day.
On our 2nd Thanksgiving together and our first as host(ess),
I'm incredibly thankful for an AWESOME husband.
Aaron made 3/4 of the food for the whole day and it was great!
I am very thankful that he's silly.
At the last minute, I decided we needed some decorations.
I scrambled and pulled together an art project.
2 vases + lots of pine cones + magazines = our centerpieces.
I mentioned he's silly, right?
11 of us sat together for lupper/dunch (whichever you prefer)
and it was delicious. My husband is an awesome cook!!
I'm incredibly thankful for time with family.

Hannah

Aaron and I did some pictures for friends of ours.
Their little girl Hannah is about 2 weeks old in these pictures.
She was out cold!
Krista with Hannah
Aren't they cute?!
They'll be serving with Campus Crusade in the Middle East.
We'll definitely miss them!

Rochester!

Aaron and I went to Rochester to see Kim & Ole.
I love Stella. Such a sweet little girl!
We played a game of Wits & Wagers.
It brought out some strange side of us :)
See what I mean, ha!
Even Stella wanted in on it
Gideon is pretty awesome, huh?
Kim and I had some girl-time on Saturday morning.
Caribou Coffee and shopping at the mall = awesome!
Thanks for a great weekend, friends!!

Day 15

Day 15: your dream house

So... let's just say I'm a realistic dreamer.
I dream of a house that we can afford that is in fact a house.
I look forward to moving out of our current place in a couple years.
We signed a 2 year lease, which is good in the sense that we can
save and do our research and find something that's really us.
I dream of affording a house that adorably simple,
that I can live in and raise children in and not have to move.
I really, really don't like moving. I want to put down roots.
I don't want a ton of stairs either, which is why you see a rambler.
I also dream of porch. There's a couple in our small group that have
a really stellar 3-season porch that they re-did to be awesome.
I'm green with envy and would LOVE to someday have a porch too.
I guess when everything is said and done, I don't have
terribly high expectations for our dream home. Aaron might.
I want affordability and cuteness in one lovely package.

Day 14

Day 14: a non-fiction book

I started "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert 2-3 years ago
when my grandma gave it to me. She said she thought I'd like it -
I think she saw the word 'pray' in the title and figured I'd like it.
I started it at the lake because I didn't bring anything else to read
and fishing wasn't keeping my attention on the boat.
If you haven't read it, it's about a successful, 40-something women
who leaves her marriage, house and job to "find herself" in
a year long trip to 3 different countries... blah blah blah.
Like I said, I started the book. I did not finish it.
I probably unfairly didn't finish it because it frustrated me.
One of her "searches" was for god - yes, god with a 'g' not 'G'.
I can confidently say that I didn't want to finish reading
this book where the author and therefore main character
sought out the spiritual nothingness of Buddha.
If you do not have Jesus, you don't have anything.
Buddha = nothing. I didn't feel like reading on when I knew
she was throwing away her eternal life. I felt sorry for her.
I definitely won't be watching Julia Roberts play her in the movie.
Ok, I'm off my soapbox now. That's my 2 cents.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween
We carved pumpkins with some friends.
They turned out "boo"tiful! Ha!
