I’m a daughter of The King, mother, grandmother, and friend. I’m 54 and starting life over with the love of my life. I have so much to be thankful for in this abundant life and am choosing to appreciate each and every moment!
Welcome once again to Toni Taddeo’s Tuesday 4. It’s nice to have you take part.
1. What will we find on top of your refrigerator? There are cabinets above my refrigerator… So there is nothing on top of it.
2. What will we find on your nightstand? A good book, some knitting, and lotion.
3. What is in your purse or handbag? Oh my goodness, no picture of that mess! LOL! Wallet, small journal, lotion, medication, small make up kit, and a comb.
4. What will we find on your coffee table or side tables? How about your kitchen or dining table? Thankfully I just spring cleaned this past weekend. It was covered with Bible study materials that should have been in my office instead. The coffee table (ottoman) has my bible, the remote, an afghan that I knitted, and a book that needs to be returned to the library.
Outside – The sun is shining but it is still a cool day. Nothing like the 93 degree weather we had a few days ago. The flower beds need to be cleaned out and the old remaining leaves picked up.
I’m drinking – nothing at the moment. I need to start on my water intake.
I’m thinking – well, I can’t lie! I am thinking about our upcoming trip to Belize! YES, finally getting that tropical vacation I have been wanting.
I’m thankful – for God’s provision in all things.
I’m going to – to be packing my “carry on” over the next couple of weeks. I have to get 7 days worth of clothing in one carry on and a personal item. We don’t want to check luggage and be held up at the aiport.
I’m listening to – Classic Recline on Pandora
One of my favorite things – anticipation! It’s wonderful to have something to look forward to.
I’m wearing – floral house dress. Yes, I wear house dresses. They are comfortable and easy.
My reading this week – The Noble Guardian by Michelle Griep and The Psalms.
I’m praying – God’s will in my life… my young coworker that has stage 4 kidney cancer, Dan, and my prodigal children, and our country. Some things never change and need constant prayer.
A moment from my day – Today I have been Spring cleaning! I love it when you can open windows (a little bit anyway) and air things out. The spring air smells so good after a long winter. Everything is sparkly clean! I will have a nice relaxing weekend here in my clean house. Dan is off fishing this weekend with his old coworkers.
I hope you all have a great week ahead and that you enjoyed this wonderful weekend.
Outside – a cold front is moving through and it is storming like crazy! We need the rain but not the hail.
I’m drinking – water, working on getting my daily allotment down..
I’m thinking – It’s good to be among friends. I have been helping Dan and have missed my blogger friends. Only able to get by and visit occasionally.
I’m thankful – for the rain.
I’m going to – the license office tomorrow. The tags are due on my car.
I’m listening to – the rain patter against the window here in my home office.
One of my favorite things – is the smell of rain. LOL! Yes, it does have a certain smell.
I’m wearing – dusty rose leggings, a maroon “Faith” tshirt with tan colored slip on Keds.
My reading this week – Savannah by John Jakes and Fullness of Joy: Experiencing True Joy in Christ published by The Daily Grace Co.
I’m praying – God’s will in my life… my young coworker that has stage 4 kidney cancer, sick nephew, Dan, and my prodigal children, and our country.
A moment from my day – Dan now lives in his condo at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. I live about an hour and a half away. I spend my weekends with him and come home on Sunday afternoon. Until we decide where we are going to buy a home and plant our roots this is going to be our arrangement. Looking for real estate is quite a job. It’s either just what we want and it is very expensive or in our price range but not where we want to be.
That’s really all that is going on in life right now. We would like to take a vacation to Belize but we are waiting for the government to open back up so the waits at the airport won’t be so long.
I hope you all have a great week ahead and that you enjoyed this wonderful weekend.
Outside – The sun is shining. The temps are finally above freezing! If fact it is currently 50 degrees! Heat wave right?!
I’m drinking – nothing. I just got home from work…
I’m thinking – about the news my boss gave me today. After 43 years with the company he is going to retire in March. Will be a welcome change… I hope.
I’m thankful – for the two young men who showed up to shovel my drive last week so that I could get out! I honestly feel like the Lord was sending me angels!
I’m going to – do some reading tonight. I have been lazy the last couple of days and not done any.
I’m listening to – total silence! That’s because the furnace just kicked off. LOL!
One of my favorite things – even though the groundhog saw his shadow today I love looking forward to Spring time!
I’m wearing – blue jeans, maroon blouse, sock feet! One of the first things I do when I get home is take off my shoes!
My reading this week – The Pharisee’s Wife by Janette Oke and Benefiting from Life’s Trials by John MacArthur.
I’m praying – God’s will in my life… my young coworker that has stage 4 kidney cancer (its’ everywhere), these awful riots, Dan and life decisions, and my kids and grandkids.
A moment from my day – Today was a perfect day at work. I stayed busy most of the day and time flew by. Most days are so slow and long I feel like they will never end. I did not get to post on my blog at work. I think WordPress has been blocked. That’s ok. I have time in the evening if I remember! LOL! I hope you all had a nice Groundhog day!
Outside today – the sun is shining and there is about 5 inches of snow on the ground!
I’m drinking – I’m waiting for my first cup of coffee… I’m sure it’s going to be great!
I’m thinking – after my coffee I am going to take a shower and start reading.
I’m thankful – that I had time that I didn’t have to go into work today. I always save time for emergencies.
I’m going to – be able to get out to work tomorrow… I have a couple young boys coming to shovel my driveway this evening. Apparently, they are energetic fellows because they work jobs through the day then will come by and clear my driveway after work. It really shocked me in this day and age that they were out drumming up work like that.
I’m listening to – the furnace running. It is -1 degrees outside and it runs nonstop.
One of my favorite things – The days are getting longer! The gloomy darkness of the early nights weighs on my depression. I LOVE the sunshine.
I’m wearing – um, because I haven’t showered yet I am still in my robe.
My reading this week – On the Mountain of the Lord by Bodie Thoene, Benefiting from Life’s Trials by John MacArthur, and Bible in 52 Weeks which goes along with my Bible reading.
I’m praying – God’s will in my life… my young coworker that has stage 4 kidney cancer (its’ everywhere), those without power in the storm, peace for the riots in MN and blogger friends needs.
A moment from my day – This is day three that I have not left my home. I can’t say that it bothers me one bit. I have made some ham and beans with cornbread, baked a chocolate cake, made cinnamon rolls (from a can) for breakfast, read a lot, watched some news… My house work is done so I just keep up with the kitchen. The rest of the day I plan to finish a couple of books after my shower. I hope you are all safe and sound during this winter storm.
This is why I am not going anywhere… MODOT shows that most of the roads are still covered in my area.
1. Ice skating, skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, playing in the snow, or a snowy walk…which winter activity do you choose? Have you done any of these activities so far this winter? Does “slaying” on the couch count? I am not much of an outdoor winter person.
2. Everyone is posting pictures from ten years ago on their social media sites so let’s jump on the bandwagon too. Share one photo and one thought to go with said photo from the year 2016. And maybe everyone isn’t doing this, but many are and we’re going to be part of the fun. I don’t have any social media other than my blog.
These were my babies. Both now are gone. I miss them very much but do not want to replace them.
3. What’s a trend you hope disappears in this new year? I’m really not into or aware of any trends. I tend to stay out of the social circles and keep to myself.
4. ‘They’ say there’s a day for everything and January 21st proves it. National Granola Bar Day. Do you like granola bars? How about just regular granola? Do you like bars of other kinds? meh, I don’t eat granola very much. Not something I hunt out to eat.
5. A frozen lake, a trickling stream, a raging river, or a deep well…which one describes something about your life right now? Elaborate as much or as little as you like. Could be a frozen lake or a deep well… neither one moves very much. My life is kind of “still” at the moment. Life decisions that are on hold keep me from moving forward. Hopefully as the winter thaw comes about so will my life begin to thaw and start moving again.
6. Insert your own random thought here. hmmm, random thoughts? Dan has sold his house. That is the first thing that needed to happen for my future to open up. We are trying to get back into one home. Not sure what the next step will be. Probably he will purchase another place… who knows what state that will be in. Then I will sell my home and join him. Praying about all of that because I’m not sure how it will actually play out.
Welcome once again to Toni Taddeo’s Tuesday 4. It’s nice to have you take part.
Here are some questions for you…..
1. Where did your mother and father grow up? My mother grew up in Central Missouri in the same town she still lives in. My father grew up mostly in Oakland CA. They moved to Central Missouri (where my mother lived) when he was a teen.
2. Where did you grow up? I grew up in that same small Central Missouri town. I currently live 17 miles from that town.
3. What was your favorite meal your mother made? What is your favorite recipe to make? Honestly my mother wasn’t a very good cook. I guess she did the best with what she had though. We didn’t have a lot growing up. I haven’t cooked much in several years now. But when all our kids where home I cooked everything from scratch and enjoyed it all.
4. What are the advantages you enjoy where you live? One of the greatest things about living in town, Walmart delivers my groceries! There isn’t much to do in our small town but then there is something to be said about living in a small town. 😉
Outside today – the sun is coming up on the horizon and it is very cold!
I’m drinking – my first cup of coffee.
I’m thinking – Its’ too early to think much about anything. I am enjoying my new book though.
I’m thankful – for doctors that actually listen to me.
I’m going to – to be perfectly honest. I am back on my antidepressant medication. As much as I fought the idea about going back on it, I do feel better. I am also going to starting counseling again this afternoon.
I’m listening to – Gospel music
One of my favorite things – the sunrise I am beginning to see on my way to work in the mornings. The days are slowly getting longer!
I’m wearing – blue jeans, green tee with sweater jacket, keds tennis shoes.
My reading this week – it is slow going but I have actually picked up a book! For a Lifetime by Gabrielle Meyer. Probably going to take me a while.
I’m praying – God’s will in my life… no matter what that looks like! Children to come back to the Lord, this world’s suffering, and blogger friends.
A moment from my day – I have just been keeping up on laundry and light house keeping duties. Doing some reading and listening to gospel music. This past weekend was very cold here so I stayed in. Had my groceries delivered by Walmart. That really has me spoiled. Anyway, on to a great week! I hope you all enjoy yours!
Outside today – It is going to be a very nice day for January. It was dark when I came in to work but it wasn’t really very cold.
I’m drinking – a second cup of coffee.
I’m thinking – about my unknown future. It’s kind of unnerving. But then I remember who HOLDS my future.
I’m thankful – for The Word given to me just in time! Every time!
I’m going to – try very hard to leave it all in Gods capable hands.
I’m listening to – Gospel music
One of my favorite things – the Gospel music that I am listening to.
I’m wearing – blue jeans, It Is Well long sleeve t-shirt, grey sketchers
My reading this week – I can’t seem to get my brain to focus on anything but a verse here and there!
I’m praying – Restoration for me and Dan, procedure that a blogger friend is having, work situation of another blog friend, and help to get through each and every day.
A moment from my day – Dan is very busy with his house sale plans, preparing for taxes, and moving things from his house to the condo. I on the other hand have nothing. I go to work each day and go home to be alone. That is what has me in this state… lonely. Trusting that the Lord is holding onto me and things will work out.
This is why I haven’t been blogging… Life is uneventful. My daughters are living their lives and I never see nor hear from them.
Well, I am off to see what my blogger friends are up to on this Monday morning! Hope you have a wonderful week!
I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year! I haven’t been posting much this year but I have kept up with a lot of your blogs. You have inspired and encouraged me beyond belief. Thank you for being here for me! You are a wonderful group of friends!
