Pez Please

Kaleb has been pretty sick today. I am hoping that the medicine kicks in this weekend and that he starts feeling better soon. Corey, being the best papa ever, keeps Kaleb in good supply of Pez, which Kaleb loves. But tonight not only were we out of pez, but the Nemo pez dispenser had gone missing, no doubt upstairs hiding somewhere in Kaleb's disaster of a toy room.

Since he is sick and is getting everything he wants today, off we went to Macey's to re-stock on Pez for the weekend. Kaleb chose a Diego the Saber Toothed Tiger dispenser and we threw about four refill packs into the cart (I will end up eating probably half of them....I love Pez!). Kaleb dug right in.

In this picture you can see the snot running down his face if you look hard enough. His little nose is so raw from being wiped probably 100 times today!

Kaleb is a Pez dispensing pro...

The Weekend Pez Supply!

I have my hopes that the Pez will make him feel a little better....I am trying not to think about what the Pez is really doing to his teeth.

Oh the JoY!

So here is how the last 24 hours of my life have gone:

* Kaleb is not feeling well. He woke up last night so we brought him into our bed. He then coughed and kicked and moved and talked in his sleep ALL NIGHT LONG!
* I get up this morning, and start my period! Not only am I already tired and cranky from lack of sleep, I am tired and cranky just as a general feel, probably for the week. Watch out world!
* Take Kaleb to the doctor where they inform me that he may have a slight case of croup and a red, sore throat, just to be sure they do a throat culture. Positive for strep throat. Yay, just what I wanted to hear!
* Off to the grocery store to get some much needed food and to pick up prescriptions for Kaleb. He starts to cough and coughs some more, until he coughs hard enough to barf down the front of his shirt. I have nothing to clean him off with, so I, being the good mother I am, use my own shirt sleeve to wipe his mouth and neck (the barf can just stay on that shirt til we get home!)
* Home we go! Lunch time. Kaleb refuses to eat anything but Oreos. I am too ornery and tired to fight with him so for lunch we both eat Oreos dipped in milk.
* Ahhhhh! finally Kaleb is so tuckered out that he asks me for a "quick nap, mom". So here I am, trying to keep my eyes open in order to actually get something productive done while baby naps and all I want to do is sit in this chair, and looks at blogs. What a day!

Good things about this day:
* I saw a my friend Jessica at the doctor's office and I haven't talked to her in almost two years.
* I got to eat Oreos for lunch...this will make it so that in another hour, I will be starving again and then I can have some more Oreos!
* At the grocery store, I was feeling bad for myself, so I bought myself some Simply LimeAid, which I love.
* Alyssa says that she will be in town next weekend. I haven't seen her for what seems like forever so YAY!
* and Finally, Kaleb is sleeping, and since we were up a lot last night, he is probably pretty tired. Meaning that he will probably nap for another two hours, enough time to nap and do something productive!!

Meet Haley!

This is Haley. She is Kaleb's friend and fellow mischief maker. She is such girly girl and she likes to gives Kaleb hugs. He likes hugging to a point and then he just starts pushing her away. It is funny! When I told her to smile for the camera she posed like she was a pro....I wish I could teach that to Kaleb!

This is Haley and Kaleb both "reading" copies of the Ensign magazine. I laughed when I went in the room and saw them each just flipping through the Ensign, not making any messes or screaming, it must be a miracle magazine!

Sew Fun!

I bought the rods for these curtains at Rod Works in Lehi. If you haven't been there, check it out! It is a fabulous store!

Loving the orange stained cabinets!

Obviously I need to hang something on these bare walls...oh well, at least the curtains look good!

Here are pictures of the curtains that I made for my house. I am posting this so that Alyssa will be completely impressed by my sewing abilities and continue on her quest to learn how to sew.

As you can tell, a couple of them are the same, just in different rooms and the other is just a little scrunch thing over my dirty kitchen sink. I do have to admit thought that my mom helped me...but if I had to do it again now I feel like I could do it without help.

I love to sew...but I don't have my own sewing machine. I wish that I did though, someday maybe Corey will buy me a sewing machine (hint, hint!)

Hide and Seek

So Kaleb and I were playing hide-and-seek tonight, having a great time. It was my turn to hide and he found me so I scooped him up to make him laugh...which he did. In the process of his laughing he decided to bite me right on the collarbone, leaving what now looks like a giant hiccie ( um, how is that word spelled?) which is visible from almost every shirt I own.

So the upside to this is that at least when people see the hiccie AND the wedding ring they will smile and think to themselves, "Right on!"

Please tell me that I am correct in this assumption.

coloRED bubbles

We just got some new bubble bath for Kaleb and right next to the bubble bath are those tablets you can buy that dye the bath water colors. We thought, why not?

Kaleb LOVED it! He was so dang cute in the tub this morning. When I put the color tablet in and it start to fizzzzz and color the water he said, "whoa, pazy!!" (translation: whoa, crazy). He played is his bubbly water for almost half an hour and then I made him get out...at which point he said, "bye bye pretty water". That kid makes me laugh every day...I love it!

Pedicures

My sisters and I try to find any excuse we can to go and get pedicures together...weddings, babies being born, birthdays; really any occasion will do! We all go to this fun place called Bonny Nails (because they have 4 pedicure chairs and we get done faster that if we could only go 2 at a time!) and we have such a good time sitting there for a couple hours laughing together. Here is the outcome of my latest pedicure:

Love the flowers!!!

I love getting pedicures and having my feet look clean and neat, but seriously, I have some ugly looking feet. All bony and long -- my toes all fit together like puzzle pieces...these are some unattractive looking feet! But really whose feet are nice to look at?

CHALLENGE: For those three of you that read this blog, let's see pictures of your feet...we could have a "hooray-for-ugly-feet party"!!!

My Celebrity Look-alikes

I am such an idea stealer when it comes to posting on my blog. I saw this on another blog and wanted to try it for myself. But I do like to give credit as to who I stole the idea from. This one is from alexis, which can be linked to from Alyssa's blog...thanks for the fun idea!

My cool celebrity look-alike collage from MyHeritage.com. Get one for yourself.

BYU Basketball Game

Somehow we scored tickets to the BYU vs. Utah Basketball game last weekend. We had great seats, but I was a little bit nervous. The last time we took Kaleb to a sporting event it was disasterous!! So we loaded up on drinks and snacks and such in order to keep him occupied. We didn't even need them. He was so interested in the game, I think cause it was so fast moving. He kept yelling, "Doe tougars!" It was a good time.

This one is Kaleb clapping to the fight song while daddy holds him up in the air. Corey was so proud!!
Kaleb did eat the cotton candy we bought for him...he was quite the sticky little mess after shoving the entire poof of sugar into his mouth!! (Thank you wet wipes!!)

TImE OuT!

What a funny picture. I just had to post it! This is Kaleb in time out for being very naughty! He just stands there and leans his head against the door and kind of whimpers until I come over and talk to him. It is so hard to put him in time out cause he makes this sad face that just makes me laugh! So when he is naughty and has to go to time out, I put him there and then I have to go into another room to laugh a little bit!
After I started taking pictures, he turned around and thought he wasn't in trouble anymore so he gave a little bit of a smile!!

Behind the Refrigerator!!

I just finished painting my kitchen. I was dreading painting behind the refrigerator because I knew that it would be yucky back there. So this is the before and after pictures from behind the fridge. When we moved into this house two and a half years ago, we had a full set of magnetic letter that were on the fridge. As of last week we only had about three of the twenty-six letters left. Where did all the others go??
Oh yes!! All of those brights colors you see are the other letters that used to be on the fridge. They were all covered in dust and yuck so they went straight into the garbage and Kaleb cried about that for a while. He kept saying, "Wani doz abc's"...Translation: I want those ABC's. It was cute!
After a few minutes of hard work, vaccuming, scrubbing and mopping, it didn't look so bad back there. Here is the after shot:
QUESTION OF THE DAY??? How often do you all clean behind your fridge? Obviously I don't do it often enough!!
