Kids say Funny things!

Sorry no pictures lately...This post is inspired by my sister-in-law named Erin (she did one like this too). I have decided that I need to start writing down all the funny things that come out of Kaleb's mouth. He is the best entertainment ever!!

Lately when Kaleb is eating I make him take two more bites at the end cause he sometimes doesn't eat very much. He cries but totally takes the two bites!! Kaleb is just finishing his lunch today and I went in and said to him, "are you all done with your lunch?" He replies, "Yes but I needa take twooo mo' bites." I laugh, he takes two more bites and hands me his plate.

Yesterday in church Kaleb was a little excited (which means loud). I had to go up and sing with the Young Women so Corey had to be in charge of him. I walk up to sing and when the music starts I hear a noise. Of course it is Kaleb standing on Corey's lap yelling, "hi ma, you gonna sing". He waved at me with both arms over his head throughout the whole song. When I finally sat back down he says at the top of his lungs, "let's go home." After a few more excited minutes, Corey decides to take him out. He stands up with Kaleb in arms and Kaleb yells, "bye bye erybody." Those sitting around us proceeds to laugh.

Like I said, constant entertainment from this kid.

Kaleb Prays

My favorite thing lately is at night when we put Kaleb in bed we say prayers together. He will do it by himself sometimes and it is the best thing ever. I try not to laugh because he is so funny!! His prayer last night went like this....I will write it in Kaleb talk so you will have to decipher it yourself!!

"Hemmy Fader, sanksee, fo dis day, fo pahfits, fa-lo-mee, thomas the frain, bless me, slee' good, be safe, bless daddy and mommy and kaleb...and avery and mikah and miss and fravis...and thomas the frain. name of, jesus fist, amen."

It was so cute, and it shows just how obsessed with Thomas the Train he is. I love being able to pray with him at night. It makes me feel like we have taught him at least one thing right!

Potty Time

So I have decided not to put it off any longer...I am ready for Kaleb to be potty trained.

I am just going cold turkey (meaning going straight to underwear, no pull ups, and hoping that the feeling of being wet will motivate him to go in the toilet), a method my sister Malissa used on her little Avery. This morning, after Kaleb woke up and had breakfast, we got him dressed and I asked him if he wanted to wear big boy underpants. Of course he says yes and so on they go. About 45 minutes later I ask him if he need to go potty....the conversation went like this:

Me: Kaleb do you want to sit on the potty and go pee?
Kaleb: uuummmmmm, no, i'n peein' right here.

He then looks down at his manhood and gives it a little grunt and sure enough he pees right there in his pants.

I let him sit in his own pee for a few minutes and then go and get him changed. I remind him that if he needs to potty to tell mommy and I ask him every 10 minutes if he want to use the big boy potty, everytime he says no. Half and hour later, he says, "ma, i'n wetty"...once again I let him sit in it for a few minutes and then get him changed, giving him the same reminder...this happened 4 times this morning.

So the last time I changed him I said to him, "if you need to go potty tell mommy, okay." As he is skipping away from me to play he turns around, smiles and say, "Nope."

On a positive note:
1. Today is laundry day...I just keep throwing the wet pants into the next load...but what if this happens tomorrow, I don't do laundry any day but Monday???
2. Kaleb is sleeping right now, which means I got to put him in a diaper for a couple hours. AAAAhhhhhhhh! ***breathing a sigh of relief***
3. When Kaleb peed on the carpet he wanted to clean it up himself!!! Now if I could somehow just restrict him to the tiled floors for the rest of the week...

My Friend Kaleb

Up at Bridal Veil Falls, Kaleb took off his shoes and said to me, "Watch dis, ma." and then he ran and stepped into the freezing water. Then he looked back at me and smiled like it was funny.

What a cute boy...he is my best little friend!

4th of July!!

Of course this post is a week late as usual...sorry!

Our 4th was a blast. On the 3rd we had a BBQ at Corey's parents house and every year they rent one of those big, air-filled slides for everyone. It is always a good time! On the morning of the 4th we headed bright and early to the hot air balloons to watch. Kaleb is chicken and was of course scared, it was fun though. And that night we headed over to my parents house for some snacks and a lot of fireworks!! The 4th of July is always one of my favorites! Here are some pics:

Corey taking a nervous Kaleb down the slide. He wasn't sure he liked it at first...but that doesn't matter. We just forced him down a few times til he enjoyed it!

Kaleb and mommy clinbing the slide...it was little difficult holding my heavy boy!

Kaleb and I going down the slide. You can't see but his tongue is sticking out just a little...you can tell he is concentrating on this slide. He was a little worried!

Then all three of us went down together (we smushed Kaleb though!).

After much prodding and force, we got Kaleb to go down the slide by himself and of course, he loved it....then they had to take it down and leave. He was sad!

Kaleb on Grandpa Shelley's shoulders at the balloon fest at 6:30 am. Everytime they would shoot the hot air into one of the balloons he would jump and say, "I wanna go home, ma". He was scared! If you have never been to this you should go, it is early in the morning but worth it to see!

Here are the three of us at the balloon fest on the morning of the 4th! I love watching all of the balloons on the ground at the same time.

Hope everyone's holiday was a great as mine!!

Hot

My air conditioner is broken...high for today is 102 degrees...sigh...multiple streams of profanities running through my mind.
