we took kaleb rock climbing last weekend. he was so excited to go and then he saw the wall we wanted him to climb. it was big and tall and "sceery". they have cute harnesses for little kids and even climbing shoes.
before seeing the "sceery" wall.

then...kaleb sees the wall climbs up about 8 feet...looks down...and says he is done. i went with them expecting only to be the designated picture taker. but corey really wanted kaleb to be brave so i got a harness and shoes and climbed up right next to kaleb.
we made it a race to see who was faster. i would climb a little and then tell kaleb where to put his hands and then just wait. it took us about 15 minutes to get all the way up. my arms were killing me by the end of the night.
here is kaleb after touching the top. he is waving down to his dad. oh yes, and that is my butt.

me on the way down.

corey promised him a slurpee and some candy if he made it up. i think was the only thing that kept him going cause he was pretty scared to be so high (about 50 feet up). but you ask him now and he is so proud. most convos go like this:
grandpa: kaleb did you go rock climbing?
kaleb: um yeah. i'm brave and i climbed all the way to the top and i got to go to the treat store.
grandpa: you did! you are such a big kid.
kaleb: yeah. and brave too.
it was such a fun night! i am glad i was talked in to going with them!
