My Hoi Polloi

then kaleb, {funny, wise kaleb,} smiles, chuckles a little bit, puts on his puppy dog eyes and says, "yeah, good trick huh dad."

i am standing in the doorway and i say, "that is  not a good trick that is yuck bud. how is that a trick."

he tells me, "it IS a trick.  you dus' get a little bit o' pee in the garbage can and it's a trick."

and then, again, he smiles, chuckles sweetly, bats his eyes, and walks away.

we totally got owned.

i have some crazy haired kids in the morning.  just had to share these pics:

oh yeah.  and look what my baby can do now.  sad, sad day.  i can never let her out of my sight again with stairs this steep in the house.

the kids and i headed up to gardner's village with janae and candice and kids last week.  it was the perfect day to be out; not too hot or cold.  i think the boys all had fun together.  cole kept saying to me, "kaleb's my friend."  so cute!

we cut kaleb's hair yesterday.  he looks cute...i am still a little bit sad about it though.  his hair was so perfect.  it needed to be cut bad though.  BAD!  i think it makes him look a little bit younger.  what do you think?

i can't decide whether i am going to love it or whether i am going to regret cutting it.  good thing it is just hair.  it will be back in 6 months.  but for now...

so unless my kids are dead tired they never sleep in the car.  this ticks me off more than just a little bit.  kaleb used to get in the car and fall asleep almost instantly.  now all i get when we drive is, "i wanna hear the A song...now the B song...now i want the alligator song...i wanna hear the alligator song again..."  it is pretty much amazing that we are still alive with all the CD changing and iPod navigating that goes on while i drive.

but then a miracle happened.  

first this one dropped off...

then i looked back at him and behold...

after pulling into my driveway and taking these pics with my camera phone, i quickly selected "erin's favorites" on the iPod, threw the car into reverse and decided to enjoy listening to loud music of MY choosing.  

ahhh. sanity.

the best part about baby #2 so far has been seeing how much kaleb loves his baby sister.  he is so cute to play with her all the time and she loves him and always wants to be where he is.
