bath tub randoms

sometimes i just have to take pictures of my kids in the tub. they are rarely ever in there all together but last week, one night they were. here are my sweeties.

grant.

kaleb.

lyla.

ducks

we looked out our front door the other day and there were two little duckies strolling across our front lawn. so i handed kaleb some bread and told him to go feed them. they wouldn't come too close though. and we tried pretty hard to get them close.

our two ducky friends.

when you ask kaleb to smile for the camera, you really never know what you are going to get. his cute smiles always make me smile too. and chuckle a little.

kaleb saying, "mom, give the rest of that bread you're holding." and yes, lyla has no pants on. we are that kind of family.

corey trying to lure them in. they ran away at this point.

then lyla got a kick out of chasing them away.

this was way better than having to drive to a pond to feed ducks.

crazy hair day

kaleb had crazy hair day at school a couple weeks ago. i tried so hard to do a mohawk but his hair is too heavy and i didn't have the right gel. but, with the help of daddy and a blow drier we got a couple palm trees going on...they weren't palm trees though until his hair dried. i tried to make them into spikes but his curly hair won the fight and the spikes turned into trees...

ready for school.

with his friend aiden.

the whole class.

he has learned so much at preschool this year. i can't believe he is done and on to kindergarten. preschool graduation pics to come soon. soon as in sometime during june. hopefully.

almost a year

i missed posting a picture on grant's 11 month mark. it's because i suck at blogging. no. actually it's because i would rather read a book than blog.

this last month has been crazy for mr. grant. he got a mouthful of teeth (there are 14 in that little mouth!) and the urge to try and walk. we aren't quite there on the walking yet but it has been a fun, exhausting month! here are a couple pics from this last month:

scene: i get the kids snacks, i leave the room for 5 minutes, i come back. lyla has traded snacks with grant. she ate his apples and bananas and gave him her oreo...he was pretty happy about it.

he uses the kitchen chairs as walkers, just pushing them along as he goes. i think by mid summer he will be a runner and i won't be able to stop him.

i can't believe he is almost a year old. i can't believe he is so big. i can't believe i ever thought it was too soon to have another baby after lyla. i was wrong. he fits so snug right where he is. we love him.

you should see the other guy...

just kidding. my boy hasn't really been fighting. kaleb's face met some cement stairs a couple weeks ago...

it was some pretty rough cement too. you can see the scratch marks in his cheek when you look close enough. but from a distance, he looked like someone had punched him upside the head. he was pretty tough about it though.

now, if only he would be tougher when lyla starts beating on him...

mothers day 2010

as always, mothers day was great. i told corey in the morning that the only thing i really wanted to do was take a picture of me with the kids when all of us were dressed. it was too bad that grant never got dressed. he was up to his elbows in boogers (or maybe i should say down to his elbows...either way, lots of boogs.) and stayed in bed most of the day.

corey and the kids gave me a book and an awesome cd which i loved. one other miracle: lyla told me she wanted hot hair. that meant she wanted some curls (get it. cause the curling iron makes your hair hot.). getting this girl to sit still to do her hair is probably one of the hardest parts of the day so this was a real treat.

it turned out pretty cute too.

since grant was sick and sleepy, he isn't in any of our mother's day pictures. but the older two were happy to oblige.

next year i'll be sure to get a good one with all my kiddos!
