bowling for wednesdays

another summer full of fun wednesday activities with my familia. we headed to the bowling alley last week with a million kids and let them have at it. it turned out to be one of the best wednesdays evah!

g.rant sat in his stroller and whined most of the time. he gets a little jealous of the fun stuff bigger kids get to do while he just sits there and eats his trix cereal. he's so handsome and fun!

watching lyla carry her bowling ball each time was pretty great. she is too funny and she had a blast!! first time bowling, check.

and this kid couldn't have been happier. he wanted to use the kiddi ramp thingy so that he could set his ball on there and then get a running head start before pushing/hurling his ball off the ramp and down the lane.

and here is the whole group: my kids + my sister leksa + a whole slew of my nieces and nephews.
back: peyton, andrew, calvin, oliver, tessa, simon, hunter, leksa and grant
middle: katie, avery, joie, tanner and jessie
front: mikah, lyla, addie, kaleb and ty

what a fun group of kids.

haircuts

kaleb keeps complaining about his hair getting in his eyes. finally! i thought to myself. finally i can convince him to cut his hair for the summer. so we made an appointment (aka telephone call) and headed over to auntie's (corey's auntie terri) house to get haircuts on all the kiddos....they needed it bad.

kaleb told auntie he wanted a buzz (he had no idea what that meant) so she started shaving off the sides and back and i made her stop so i could point and laugh and take a quick picture of kaleb's curly pompodour hair before she shaved that off too.

snipping off some final touches.

the hairy chair...and this doesn't even include the hair that was on the floor. his hair was seriously long.

the final do.
isn't he so cute with his short hair and his cute ears and his pained smile and day dreamy gaze?
really though, isn't he such a handsome dude?

then i tried to get lyla to get a little trim and she promptly told me, "i can't like a hay-o-cut, e-in" (translation: "i can't like a haircut erin!") and that was that. so we moved on to the dreaded baby haircut. we had suckers ready to distract him and this is how that turned out:

not so happy...

but once auntie stopped touching his head he shut the water works right down and reached for a sucker (x3). again, another handsome dude.

p.s. did i mention that this cute baby is walking!?! albeit he looks like a drunken sailor when he does it...but he does it nonetheless. someday i'll post pictures.
