Shaped Birthday Wishes
an awesome challenge for the DTGD callenge week. Her challenge was for us to create a birthday card of any shape or size but, it could not be square or rectangle! So, for my card, I used the Stampin Up Top Note die. I really like the shape of this die and it makes for an interesting card! I also made this card for the At the Movies challenge, and here, my card represents one of my favorite 80's movies- 16 Candles. Supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Harvest Gold, Hawaiian Shores and White.
Pattern Paper: MME- Meadowlark Dawn border element.
Stamps: Unity July KOM.
Ink: Memento
Accessories: SU Top Note die, Yellow pearls, glitter glue, PTI Black dotted ribbon, teal staples, copics.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely day!

Winter Wishes....in July!!
hat we were challenged to make a winter themed card in the DTGD challenges over on Splitcoast! It has been sooooo hot lately, unbearably hot! That may even be an understatement. So, I took great delight in making this card, imagining a much cooler place and maybe even some sparkly snowflakes falling all around me. :-) This was such an easy card to put together, just a simple Kraft base, then I used acrylic paint dabbers to paint the Unity Stamp Co snowflake stamp different colors onto the Kraft paper. Next, I tied some PTI Hawaiian Shores ribbon around the center of the card and adhered some Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphabet stickers onto the ribbon, spelling Winter. I also added a tiny dot of glitter glue to the centers of the snowflakes. Super easy-peasy!! Thanks so much for stopping by, STAY COOL. Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Warmest Thoughts
hat I wanted to do with it, but one day I just pulled it out and stamped it on a piece of scrap paper, just to see what it was all about. Well, I started coloring it with copic markers, and it started to "come along," so, I went with it. Then, I thought, let me find a spellbinders die that would fit this stamp, and Labels 10 fits it perfectly!! Next, (and this is where I thought the design would fall apart) I sponged around the top of the scene with summer sky memento ink, and the bottom with desert sand memento ink. I finished by painting the wave with Tim Holtz crackle paint. I placed the scene on some PTI Summer Sunrise cardstock and tied it with PTI Lemon Tart ribbon! The sentiment, warmest thoughts is also from the Unity June KOM.Saturday, July 17, 2010
Recycling is Cool!!
I loved the bright pink color of the tissue, and thought, I could "do something" with that, so I folded it up and brought it downstairs to craftyland!
For this card, I just scrunched it in different directions and then glued it down as I went across the card. Then I placed the orange ribbon right over it.
Don't you just love the sentiment on this stamp?? It is sooooo true, we really do hold hearts forever.
Have a fabulous weekend!

***UNITY FWF*** Friendship Rainbow
s time for another super-fun installment of Unity's Friends With Flair (FWF) Fridays. Check out the UNITY BLOG to get the list of awesome chicks who will be showing you some great projects today!! Don't forget to leave some love on the blogs you visit, because someone has the blinkie and will choose a winner from the comments!! What's the prize, you ask? Its a grab bag of 25 random Unity Stamps!! So, lets get hoppin....I made a very simple card for you today. First, and I'm not sure you can see it here, I stamped one of the flowers from the Ippity stamp set Now and Always in Desert Sand Memento ink on the kraft paper, to make a watermark effect. Next, I gathered up some ribbons in the colors of the rainbow, making sure they will stretch across the cardfront and then layered the colors to form a rainbow.
Next, I stamped the focal image- here, I used the friendship stamp from The Right Words, the stampin' store kit for July, (available at PaperManiac for a great price, I may add). I then cut around the focal image using Spellbinders large and small classic circles dies, and layered them on top of each other.
Finally, I added pearls, in all the colors of the rainbow, around the top and bottom halves of the circles. My daughter freaked when she saw this card, as she loves rainbows just as much as I do. She said, "mommy, can I have that card?" SO, now that its posted, I am going to give it to her! :-)
Have fun on your HOP!

Unity Birthday Wishes
to say this would qualify as a masculine card! (I rarely ever make a masculine themed card, and I certainly didn't TRY to here). I just think the color scheme would be appealing to boys, men, guys, dudes, etc! :-) Or, maybe its the plaid impression showing through on the blue layer? Something just screams boy on this card.Anyway, its super Clean & Simple, just a Kraft base layer, a smaller teal blue layer (core'dinations) with corners rounded, impressed with the picnic plaid impression plate from Papertry Ink, and tied with some Papertey Orange Zest stitched ribbon. Then I just simply stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card and colored the letters with Copic markers. The sentiment comes from the Unity Stampin Store Kit for July- The Right Words. I LOVE this kit, it has a lot of really cool sentiments for pretty much any kind of card!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

TODAY...I Thought of You
IDAY, and that means its Unity Friends With Flair day. Hooray for the end of the week and hooray for SUMMERTIME!!! I made this card using the Unity June KOM- I just love this adorable bird stamp. Don't they all look so cute just humming along on that branch?? :-)
This card was super easy to make. Simply stamp the birdy-banch stamp onto the card and color in with copic markers. I embellished the card with Echo Park stickers, and stamped the sentiment onto a PTI fillable frames 4 die cut, and then drew a frame around the card with a sharpie pen.
Please check out the Unity Stamp Co blog today for the list of cuties who are showing off their art for Friends with Flair. Someone along the way has a goody bag of 25 random Unity Stamps, so be sure to leave some love to be eligible to win.

Chipboard Inspirations
Hello- our theme is CHIPBOARD at PaperManiac this week!!
Have you seen all the yummy new chipboard in stock in the store?? I used the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely line for this project- and I must say that this is some of the most gorgeous papers and embellishments I have EVER seen! It's very bright and colorful, just in time for SUMMER!!
Here is the front of my card:
I used 3 of the chipboard flowers from the DeLovely chipboard collection on the front of the card, the pattern paper is also DeLovely. I sponged around the edges of the chipboard flowers with Dandelion Memento ink, to give them a bit more dimension on the white cardstock base. The sentiment comes from the Unity Stamp Co Stampin Store Kit for May- Naturally You, and is mounted on a Spellbinders Labels 9 die cut. This is a really great quote, I just love it!! I sponged around the edges with Dandelion Memento ink. The ribbon is hot pink velvet.

An Awesome Altered Project fot You!!
Here is the card that fits inside the envelope package:
This card is 5.75"X7.25" white cardstock base. I stamped the flourish images from the new Unity Stampin Store Kit for May on the corners of the card, and the sentiment is also from that kit. The pattern paper is from Jillibean Soup. I used Spellbinders Labels 9 die for layering the sentiment.
Here is a photo of the project package:
The adorable little snails and mushroom images come from the Unity Stampin Store Kit as well. I colored the images with Copic markers and airbrushed the white spaces with a coordinating, subtle color. I sponged around the edges of the project with Distress ink. The ribbon is orange velvet. The pattern paper is from Jillibean Soup.

I {HEART} Distressing!!
Ok, I have to admit, I have never been much of a distressing fan, but that's only because I didn't know how to do it too well. BUT, I have since been inspired, and I am soooooo very excited to share this card with you today! AND, I am soooooo lovin' the distressing techniques and possibilities with the new Tim Holtz line of products.
So, how did I fall in love??
Patti, the wonderful owner of the Paper Maniac store is now carrying the new Tim Holtz line of products, which range from inks and paints, to large sizzix dies and impression plates, rubber stamps, and a whole lot in between. You HAVE to check out the store to see the new, FUN, stuff- more items are added daily.
Patti tipped-off us designers, on these super cool Tim Holtz videos on you tube, and that was it for me. Mouth on the floor and everything. Amazing inspiration. AND....now I can distress!! AND...I need to distress more and more and more. Oh, how hubby is going to love that! LOL.
SO, if you haven't figured it out already, our Paper Maniac theme this week is DISTRESSING!! Please join us in some distressing fun on the BLOG- the possibilities are endless with these super-fab products.
Oh, and do you see the cute little owl friend on this card?? He comes from the NEW Unity Stampin store kit for April. This month, there is an exciting new option for getting the kit (it's only available in stampin' stores, like Paper Maniac). The kit is now offered as 2 mini kits or as a complete kit. The mini kits are called: Total Cuteness and Sew Cute, and Patti has reduced the price to $19.00 each. You can also order the complete store kit for $35. Sweet deal huh??

Paper Maniac Inspiration- Scrapbook Pages
I was so happy when the Paper Maniac girls decided we would showcase scrapbook layouts for you this week. I have fallen so behind in my scrapbooking, and this was a nice little kick-in-the-butt to get some pages done. I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my daughter for the longest time, so alas, its finally done! Now to keep the albums going (especially now, with another little one in the mix) :-)
Unity Stamp Co also posted a really fun scrapbook sketch this week, as part of their new challenges. Its a challenge with a prize (Hodgepodge of Happiness kit). Check it out if you have the time!
Here is a close-up of the stamps and papers I used on this page:
