Vintage Style

Happy Saturday Paper Maniac peeeeps.  Have you been enjoying our Vintage Week on the Paper Maniac Blog?? If you haven't stopped by yet, please check out all the awesome projects when you have some time, they are so inspiring!

Now, Vintage is not necessarily my style, so this week's assignment was a bit challenging for me. However, once I found my Echo Park "Be Mine" paper pack, I was having some good ideas.  This paper collection is full of vintage-y goodness!!  I paired the paper with the Unity Stamp Co stamp kit called Life Becomming (by Melody Ross).  Then, I just distressed the edges of the papers with a distressing tool and some vintage inks and sewed them onto the card front, which is Memory Box (Begonia).  I have become addicted to Memory Box papers for card bases.  The papers are colored on one side and white on the other!! How cool is that??

Well, I hope you have a great weekend!

FWF Post Halloween

Happy Friday firends!!  Its another wonderful Unity FWF day- I have a post-Halloween card to share with you.  (Its been very cloudy, rainy and windy here lately, so I havent been able to get outside and take a decent picture....until today!) I was trying to use up some of the awesome Echo Park Halloween papers I had in my stash.  The stamped images come from the Unity Stamp Co September KOM.  I LOVE those pumpkins- and I think they can be used for all sorts of fall cards, not just for Halloween.

Heres a picture of the inside of the card:

Hubby was awesome and gave me an "advance" on my birthday present this year.  He bought me an awesome electronic sewing machine (Brother CE5500PRW), and I have been using it on all of my cards so far.  This machine beats out my older one (a pixie) because it is soooooo much easier to thread and change bobbins, as well as thread the dreaded needle (not dreaded anymore though). Thanks babe, you are the BEST!!
Hope you all have a great day!!

FWF: All You Need is LOVE

Happy Friday Unity Peeeeeeeeps!!
Seriously? It's FRIDAY, already?? wow, this week seems to have flown by!
I have a super easy card to share with you today for FWF,
with a simple, yet strong message:
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.
Im a big believer in that- if you have love, you can get through, and do anything.

I kept the card to one layer- I LOVE making simple, one-layer cards lately.
Its PTI Rustic Cream cardstock with the images from the Unity August 2010 KOM stamped right onto the cardstock and colored with Copic markers.
Then, I finished off the card by tying some red baker's twine around the middle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
HUGS!!

Shaped Birthday Wishes

Tiff gave us an awesome challenge for the DTGD callenge week. Her challenge was for us to create a birthday card of any shape or size but, it could not be square or rectangle! So, for my card, I used the Stampin Up Top Note die. I really like the shape of this die and it makes for an interesting card! I also made this card for the At the Movies challenge, and here, my card represents one of my favorite 80's movies- 16 Candles.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Harvest Gold, Hawaiian Shores and White.
Pattern Paper: MME- Meadowlark Dawn border element.
Stamps: Unity July KOM.
Ink: Memento
Accessories: SU Top Note die, Yellow pearls, glitter glue, PTI Black dotted ribbon, teal staples, copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely day!

Winter Wishes....in July!!

I am so glad that we were challenged to make a winter themed card in the DTGD challenges over on Splitcoast! It has been sooooo hot lately, unbearably hot! That may even be an understatement. So, I took great delight in making this card, imagining a much cooler place and maybe even some sparkly snowflakes falling all around me. :-) This was such an easy card to put together, just a simple Kraft base, then I used acrylic paint dabbers to paint the Unity Stamp Co snowflake stamp different colors onto the Kraft paper. Next, I tied some PTI Hawaiian Shores ribbon around the center of the card and adhered some Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphabet stickers onto the ribbon, spelling Winter. I also added a tiny dot of glitter glue to the centers of the snowflakes. Super easy-peasy!! Thanks so much for stopping by, STAY COOL.

Warmest Thoughts

This is a very interesting stamp image, found in the Unity Stamp Co June KOM. At first, I didnt really know what I wanted to do with it, but one day I just pulled it out and stamped it on a piece of scrap paper, just to see what it was all about. Well, I started coloring it with copic markers, and it started to "come along," so, I went with it. Then, I thought, let me find a spellbinders die that would fit this stamp, and Labels 10 fits it perfectly!! Next, (and this is where I thought the design would fall apart) I sponged around the top of the scene with summer sky memento ink, and the bottom with desert sand memento ink. I finished by painting the wave with Tim Holtz crackle paint. I placed the scene on some PTI Summer Sunrise cardstock and tied it with PTI Lemon Tart ribbon! The sentiment, warmest thoughts is also from the Unity June KOM.
Have a FABULOUS day!!

Recycling is Cool!!

Happy Saturday Peeps!! Have you checked out the Paper Maniac inspiration this week?? We are making cards with recycled items. I made this quick and easy card using some recycled tissue paper from one of my daughter's birthday presents, a stamp from Unity's Store Kit, The Right Words and some orange stitched ribbon.

I loved the bright pink color of the tissue, and thought, I could "do something" with that, so I folded it up and brought it downstairs to craftyland!

For this card, I just scrunched it in different directions and then glued it down as I went across the card. Then I placed the orange ribbon right over it.

Don't you just love the sentiment on this stamp?? It is sooooo true, we really do hold hearts forever.

Have a fabulous weekend!

***UNITY FWF*** Friendship Rainbow

Happy Friday Peeps!! It's time for another super-fun installment of Unity's Friends With Flair (FWF) Fridays. Check out the UNITY BLOG to get the list of awesome chicks who will be showing you some great projects today!! Don't forget to leave some love on the blogs you visit, because someone has the blinkie and will choose a winner from the comments!! What's the prize, you ask? Its a grab bag of 25 random Unity Stamps!! So, lets get hoppin....

I made a very simple card for you today. First, and I'm not sure you can see it here, I stamped one of the flowers from the Ippity stamp set Now and Always in Desert Sand Memento ink on the kraft paper, to make a watermark effect. Next, I gathered up some ribbons in the colors of the rainbow, making sure they will stretch across the cardfront and then layered the colors to form a rainbow.

Next, I stamped the focal image- here, I used the friendship stamp from The Right Words, the stampin' store kit for July, (available at PaperManiac for a great price, I may add). I then cut around the focal image using Spellbinders large and small classic circles dies, and layered them on top of each other.

Finally, I added pearls, in all the colors of the rainbow, around the top and bottom halves of the circles. My daughter freaked when she saw this card, as she loves rainbows just as much as I do. She said, "mommy, can I have that card?" SO, now that its posted, I am going to give it to her! :-)

Have fun on your HOP!

Unity Birthday Wishes

Wow, I'd have to say this would qualify as a masculine card! (I rarely ever make a masculine themed card, and I certainly didn't TRY to here). I just think the color scheme would be appealing to boys, men, guys, dudes, etc! :-) Or, maybe its the plaid impression showing through on the blue layer? Something just screams boy on this card.

Anyway, its super Clean & Simple, just a Kraft base layer, a smaller teal blue layer (core'dinations) with corners rounded, impressed with the picnic plaid impression plate from Papertry Ink, and tied with some Papertey Orange Zest stitched ribbon. Then I just simply stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card and colored the letters with Copic markers. The sentiment comes from the Unity Stampin Store Kit for July- The Right Words. I LOVE this kit, it has a lot of really cool sentiments for pretty much any kind of card!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

TODAY...I Thought of You

Hello everyone!! It's FRIDAY, and that means its Unity Friends With Flair day. Hooray for the end of the week and hooray for SUMMERTIME!!!

I made this card using the Unity June KOM- I just love this adorable bird stamp. Don't they all look so cute just humming along on that branch?? :-)

This card was super easy to make. Simply stamp the birdy-banch stamp onto the card and color in with copic markers. I embellished the card with Echo Park stickers, and stamped the sentiment onto a PTI fillable frames 4 die cut, and then drew a frame around the card with a sharpie pen.

Please check out the Unity Stamp Co blog today for the list of cuties who are showing off their art for Friends with Flair. Someone along the way has a goody bag of 25 random Unity Stamps, so be sure to leave some love to be eligible to win.

Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!!

Chipboard Inspirations

Hello- our theme is CHIPBOARD at PaperManiac this week!!

Have you seen all the yummy new chipboard in stock in the store?? I used the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely line for this project- and I must say that this is some of the most gorgeous papers and embellishments I have EVER seen! It's very bright and colorful, just in time for SUMMER!!

Here is the front of my card:

I used 3 of the chipboard flowers from the DeLovely chipboard collection on the front of the card, the pattern paper is also DeLovely. I sponged around the edges of the chipboard flowers with Dandelion Memento ink, to give them a bit more dimension on the white cardstock base. The sentiment comes from the Unity Stamp Co Stampin Store Kit for May- Naturally You, and is mounted on a Spellbinders Labels 9 die cut. This is a really great quote, I just love it!! I sponged around the edges with Dandelion Memento ink. The ribbon is hot pink velvet.

Here is the inside of the card:

The flourish and the sentiment come from the Unity Stamp Co Stampin Store Kit for May- Naturally You. Again, the Labels 9 die cut was used and I sponged the edges with Dandelion Memento ink. The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket DeLovely.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous day!!

An Awesome Altered Project fot You!!

I am really excited to share this project with you today!!  Our theme at PaperManiac this week is: ALTERED ART.  Now, I have never been a huge fan of altering things, but, it has been growing on me lately.  I like to alter photo frames and other small items.  Can you guess what I have altered here?? It is a Unity Stamp Company Stamp package!!  I have been saving these cute little envelope packages (and I have quite a stash now...) and came up with this pocket card idea.  I LOVE making pocket cards, so this was SUPER fun for me!!

Here is the card that fits inside the envelope package:
This card is 5.75"X7.25" white cardstock base.  I stamped the flourish images from the new Unity Stampin Store Kit for May on the corners of the card, and the sentiment is also from that kit.  The pattern paper is from Jillibean Soup. I used Spellbinders Labels 9 die for layering the sentiment.

Here is a photo of the project package:
The adorable little snails and mushroom images come from the Unity Stampin Store Kit as well.  I colored the images with Copic markers and airbrushed the white spaces with a coordinating, subtle color. I sponged around the edges of the project with Distress ink. The ribbon is orange velvet. The pattern paper is from Jillibean Soup.

Here is a view of the front of the package:

Again, the pattern paper is from Jillibean Soup.  The stamped images are from the Unity Stampin Store Kit for May, called Naturally You. I used the "beauty" definition stamp on the bottom of the package. I colored the tree image with Copic markers, and also airbrushed the white spaces between the leaves with a light green Copic marker.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hello Peeps!!  It's Friday and that means its time for another fun-filled, inspirational, Friends with Flair day!!
I kept the layout Clean and Simple on this card. A simple neutral card base, with a few nested layers and some ribbon, and you have a nice, easy card in about ten minutes. Ohhhh, did you see how I got the sentiment "thanks" to fit inside the image box?? The stamps are from Unity Stamp Co's January Stampin Store Kit- Livin and Lovin Life.  There are two other sentiments in this kit, "friend," and "hello," that also fit right inside that image box! Love it!!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!
Supplies: Stamps: Unity- Jan Stampin Store Kit- Livin and Lovin Life. Papers: Bazzil. Ink: Memento. Accessories: Dew Drops, Spellbinders Nesties-Large and Small scalloped rectangles dies, Copics and Pink polka dot ribbon.

Earth Day Inspiration

Happy EARTH Day Everyone!!
In the spirit of EARTH day, the Paper Maniac girls have an inspiring week of creations using recycled items on our cards. It's so much fun finding ways to use things I normally would have thrown away, on my crafty projects. Can you tell what items I have used in the project above??
The sun is the topper of a spice jar, which I removed so that I could reach my measuring spoon into it, and then I thought, wow, I could probably use this on a project. I painted it yellow with acrylic paint and added some peachy-orange pearls to the holes, to simulate brighter rays of sunshine.
The grass is the corrugated cardboard piece that comes wrapped around hot beverages. (This one in particular came from a Dunkin Decaf White Chocolate Latte...mmmmmm, Yum!) It had a perfect little arch to it, and I immediately thought, hillside!! I painted it two shades of green with acrylic paint. I never tried painting on my cards before, but I really like the way it came out.
The stamps are from Unity Stamp Co- Could I Be Any Cuter?, I used Memento ink and Copics to color the image. Easy peasy!
Hope you have an enjoyable EARTH day!!
