I finally bought this book on that
melancholic evening that i spent with Brenda & Ashley at the newly-opened Jusco in Melaka. It was after the annual dinner, a happy & fun event actually. Melancholic was what i feel in the end, as i had this inkling of 'going away' & leaving behind my dear colleagues, which turned out to be true abt 3 months later. Anyhow;
This is the book that I've been meaning to read ever since i read the review on the floor, in my room, at the hostel, back when i was in uia. It made me cry.
It's her own memoir & an astounding one considering how she survived with the many different reactions from people around including her family members. & the surprising turn of events.
Reading the same lines from the book as to the ones I read in the review abt 8 years ago made me cringe, only this time, i think i had more empathy since i could read the trails of events prior & after the tragedy.
The resolution is a relief.
