A Visit from my Mom

We had a fun visit from my Mom last week- it's always so nice to have her here. Ivy especially LOVED having her here for all of the extra attention! Thanks Mom for the fun visit! We love you!

Every morning Ivy got to rummage through "Nann's" makeup bag. Her favorite things were the toothbrushes (I gave my mom a new one), and the Q-tips.
Here is Ivy playing with her jewelry (she calls it "cute") and her cell phone. She always puts the phone to here ear and says "Hi Dad".
Nann bought Ivy this goofy cat at Ross. Ivy absolutely loves it, though, as you can see!
And here she is taking care of one of her babies. I hope she loves our new "real" baby as much as she loves her dolls!
Peek-A-Boo!
And the pregnant lady even got a pedicure. I had asked John to please paint my toenails since I can't bend over that far any more, but he made me wait for my mom to come. I'm sure she did a better job than he would have anyway!

President Hinckley

I was so sad last night to hear about President Hinckley passing away. He was such a wonderful man, and we will miss him. I will always remember his sweet smile, and his incredible sense of humor. It does make me glad, though, to think of the amazing homecoming he must have had, and how happy he must be to be with his beautiful wife again. I hope he knows how thankful I am for the leadership and guidance he has given the church for so many years.

Good Book!

You will all think that I'm a big cheese-ball, but I just wanted to let you know that I love this book! For those of you who haven't read "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks, you should. That is, you should read it if you are a hopeless romantic, and just want a fun, easy-to-read- type of book. We read it for our book-club, and I was sick so I didn't get to go to the discussion. But I hope everyone else liked it too! I'm thinking that the next time John and I drive to Utah I'll get it on cd, and make him listen to it so that he can get some romantic ideas in his head! Oh, and sorry about the dumb graphic. I couldn't figure out how to get a good picture of the book cover without stealing it from Amazon. Oh well!

Our fun new hobby.....

Well, Who knew! John and I can actually dance! And we're pretty darn good, too! And Celeste, I'm sorry. I know this was your and Brian's dance first. Maybe we'll just have to have a dance-off and see who's better!
P.S.
Go down to the bottom of the screen and pause the music before you play the video :)

Pictures...finally!

Here are a few of our highlights from our Christmas vacation in Utah. We all had so much fun!

Playing on the rocking horse at Nann and Grandpa's (my Mom and Dad's) house. Ivy had so much to discover there, there was never a dull moment!
The look on Ivy's face here pretty much sums up our snowmobilling day at the sinks. I think everyone had fun except Ivy. She hated being all bundled up, and was mad at us the whole time we were there. Oh well- maybe next year.

We got to go visit my Grandma Darling at the nursing home. She is such a trooper and I'm so glad that we got to take Ivy to say "hello"!Some of my neices and nephews performing the nativity at the annual Forsberg Family Christmas Party.
Out to dinner with John's family- they are so crazy and fun! We love them all!
Ivy all ready for bed on Christmas Eve, and in her new jammies, of course!Trying to figure out what the deal is on Chrismas Morning. "Am I supposed to play with the sequins on the stocking, or with the toys inside?"

HELLO!

Wow- I can't believe the holidays have come and gone already. I wrote 2008 for the first time today at the bank, and could hardly believe it! We had a great Christmas and New Years and hope you all did too! We were really busy the whole time, but now that I look back I can't really remember what we did! We did spend one really fun week in Utah for Christmas (pictures will be coming). And had fun with some friends for New Year's Eve. Does it count as a New Year's Eve party if I only made it until 9:30?!?!?! How embarrassing! I should just blame it on Ivy!
Things for us are going well, though. John started his internal medicine rotation today, and is excted to see what that has in store. He has also decided almost definately that he is going to apply to general surgery residencies, so it looks like we're in for the really long haul! He is such an amazing person, and I am so proud to call him mine! He'll be great at whatever he decides to do!
Ivy is a very busy toddler these days, and she keeps us on our toes. She is talking up a storm, and only stops when someone (besides Mom and Dad) is around to hear her. She is working on cutting 2 teeth (possibly 3) right now, so she sure has her grumpy moments. But mostly we just adore her!
I (Natalie) am very pregnant, and have been trying to clean like crazy, and organize closets, drawers, shelves, etc.... to get ready for this new baby. This is a very hard task when you have a "helper" rearranging everything you do. So I don't know if I'll ever get it done, but I have to try.
I'll post again later with pictures, but just wanted to give you all a little update for now, and let you know that we're still alive here in Denver!
