SMILE!!!!!

I decided to take some pictures of the kiddos before church on Sunday because they both just looked so dang cute, and I know you'll all think I'm lying, but I really did catch Porter's 1st real smile on camera! It was so sweet, and I couldn't believe I was that lucky to have my camera at the ready.

Me and my little guy!
It takes a great deal of effort to get little miss Ivy to sit still for a picture these days. Can you tell?
This is the goofy face Ivy pulls whenever she sees the camera. What a funny kid!

I saw this "tag" on someone's blog that I don't know (yes, I read random peoples' blogs). So obviously I didn't get tagged, I just thought it was a fun one!

What is his name? John Emil W
How long have we been together? Married 4 and a half years
How long did you date? A little over 2 years
Who said "I love you" first? He did, but on accident! I think he got confused and forgot who he was with! hahaha
Who is taller? John
Who can sing better? Probably me
Who is smarter? Him, hands down.
Who does the laundry? Me
Who does the dishes? Mostly me, but he helps when he's home.
Who pays the bills? Both. He's better at all of the money stuff though.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? John
Who cooks dinner? Me...
Who drives? He does, but he makes me carsick. So I think I'll start being the designated driver soon.
Who kissed who first? I think it was mutual.
Who proposed? John
Who is more stubborn? Oh wow, we both could win awards on that one!
Who is more sensitive? Him
Who has more siblings? John... I have 3 he has 4
Who wears the pants? I try, but he usually gets his way.
Now I tag 3 people: Amber, Kari, and Mandy

Adventures at our House

Okay, I know I've been slacking on the pictures. I've had a crazy couple of days. It all started Monday night, when Porter decided to spit up, and completely soaked the front of me. Then Ivy got sick. Then John and I decided to try to potty train Ivy (needless to say we were unsuccessful for the time being). Then Ivy got sick again. So, I think it goes without saying that we have had plenty of bodily fluids to clean up in the last 48 hours. We are hangin' in there, and hoping for a better day tomorrow! Wish us luck! Oh, and bring on the potty training tips all of you more experienced moms! I don't think we'll try again for a couple of months, but I'd like to be more prepared next time.

Update

Just a little update on us........ things are going well! We are all adjusting to being a family of 4, and enjoying having a baby in the house again. I have pretty much conquored the grocery store scene with two kids, but tried to go to Kohl's with both of them this morning and was not so successful. I think it's time for a double stroller!
Ivy is really sweet with Porter. She blows him kisses and always checks to make sure he's "K" (okay). But she doesn't really want to be too involved at this point. She'll probably think he's more fun once he starts playing, and is a little more alert.
This picture is the only one I really have of them together. Ivy is just too busy to spend her time holding a baby (at least a real one). I love how she's just resting her arm on his head. Poor little boy! He's going to have to be a tough one!

Ivy has also made the official move into a twin bed. She loves her "big girl bed" and has made the transition relatively smoothly. My mom made her a quilt with matching pillows that have cats, dogs and mice on them....so I'm sure that helps!
Baby Porter is growing like crazy. He will be three weeks on Friday. He is a good eater, and just a really happy baby. For those that don't know, he had a hard time adjusting to the altitude after he was born, so he wasn't getting enough oxygen. The NICU kept him for a couple of extra days and ran a bunch of tests, but they never found anything wrong. So we have had him on oxygen at home, but he has been doing really well and we actually don't have him on it very much any more, other than a little bit at night. Here a few recent pictures of the little guy:
