Christmas Photos

Well, we tried to do our own Christmas photos of the kids this year. The following is from my first attempt without John:So, we tried again today, and got a few cute ones.
Here's Ivy:

And Porter:

And the hardest shot of all....both kids together! This isn't my favorite picture, but it's seriously one of the best ones of the two of them. Maybe when they're older we'll be able to get them to both look at the camera and smile at the same time!

It is amazing how many photos you have to take just to get one or two that are good! Not that the kids aren't cute, of course, but they're just so busy! Who has time to sit around and pose for the camera?

Porter's new friend

Porter discovered a new friend in the mirror. He actually played like this for about 10 minutes, it was so cute!

For those of you who hadn't heard, Poter wasn't able to be "snipped" (yeah, you know what I mean) when he was born, so we took him in the other day to get it done. Poor little guy! Since he's an older baby, he had to be under general anesthesia, and he handled it great. The circumcision itself went really well too, so now it's just lots of tylenol. I had no idea that it would be such a big deal, but the whole process made me *SO* thankful that I have had healthy babies. I know there are so many parents out there whose children have lots of health problems, and my heart just goes out to them. It is so scary to put your child in the nurses arms, and just wait to hear that everything went well. So way to go Porter- you did great! And to all of you who ever have a son, make sure they get their circ. done as a newborn, so that it's not a huge hassle when he is older.

My Guilty Pleasure

Yes, it's true. I love Desperate Housewives. I love the drama, probably because my life really doesn't have any (thankfully). I love the clothes, even though I would never actually be able to wear any of them (for various reasons :). I love Bre because she is the controlling, yet extremely talented mommy that I want to be someday. And I especially love the fact that I can get John to watch kids, answer the phone and make up excuses for why I can't talk right now, and clean up messes just so I don't have to miss it. Thanks babe.

Seriously, an update already?

I have a lot to catch up on! The kids and I spent the last 5 weeks or so in Logan with family while John was doing a sub-I at the U in Salt Lake. You would think that with the number of willing babysitters I had that blogging would have been a sinch to get done, but it was amazing how busy we stayed! So I'll just post a bunch of pictures, and make a goal to stay caught up from now on!

Nann and Grampa (my Parents) ready to go their annual Halloween party. Don't they look awesome? Ivy was so intrigued by my Mom's pink hair.

We went to the Pumpkin walk in North Logan with John's Mom. It was great!

At first Ivy was more interested in filling her bucket with leaves than candy. But don' worry, she caught on real quick.

Even superheroes like to eat leaves and grass occasionally.

We threw a baby shower for my cute cousin Brandy. So fun!

Grampa took Ivy on his 4-wheeler. She was pretty nervous at first but after it was over she just wanted to go again.

We didn't get to see a whole lot of our Daddy, so it was super fun when we did.

We actually had 3 Thanksgiving Dinners. One with my whole family (I think we number around 24 or 25 now). One with John' mom, and then we spent Thanksgiving day in Mona with my sister and her family. This pic is of Ivy and Swensen at my sister's house. And Yes, Ivy is eating her roll with a spoon.

Ivy helping me unpack :)

I thought that once we got home Ivy would once again be motivated to use the potty. She knows that when she does, she'll get to wear her big girl panties like Morgan, and Claire, and Liv, and Mya, and Dora the Explorer, and Cinderella and anyone else I can think of. Yet here the panties sit. So hopefully before she starts kindergarten. We'll see.

And last but not least my little master of drool. He had his 8 month b-day while we were in Utah, had his first hair cut, got one tooth, and was incredibly spoiled. At last weight he was 23 pounds, so I'd say he's quite healthy. He's lovin' table foods, and scooting himself around quite aptly on his tummy. He's such a sweet guy!
