Ivy's Dance Recital

Ivy's dance recital was last weekend, and it was so great! Ivy did a really good job, and wasn't even nervous about going on stage. She was so sad when it was over! SO, I guess we're stayin' in dance :)

This is Ivy's class. They are such cute girls, and have lots of fun together being silly.

Ivy's hair was in curlers all day leading up to the recital, and this is as curly as it got! Poor kid- she'll hate how straight it is when she gets older.

She was so excited to put makeup on. She even smiled cute for a few pictures because I told her everyone would want to see her pretty makeup!

Dad, Mom and Little Miss Ivy after the finale. (Porter was at home with a babysitter sleeping soundly :)

I didn't get to take any good pix of her on stage, but I did record her dancing at the dress rehearsal, so when I get a minute I'll upload that video.

Re-Private-Ing

Once upon a time this was a private blog. Then, I had a change of heart and decided that nothing bad would happen, but now with John seeing patients, I just really want to keep our lives, and our kids lives to ourselves and our family and friends. So, if you would like an invite let me know. I'll probably go private in 2 weeks just to make sure I don't leave anyone out. Thanks everyone!
Nat

p.s.
I won't publish comments for this post, so please feel free to leave your email address if I don't already have it!

Prayers

Ivy's Prayer at the dinner table tonight went something like this:

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please Bless The Food.
And Please Bless that we Love Heavenly Father.
And Please Bless that we don't pick our lips, but sometimes we do.
And Please Bless that we will drive safe.
And we love Heavenly Father again.
Please bless that we don't play with the curtains and they might fall down.
Please bless that we like worms.
And please bless Daddy while he's at work, but he's still in our family.
Amen.

I wish I could record all of her prayers! They are just so sweet and innocent, and sometimes quite funny. I think when Ivy prays is when I get the most insight as to what she has on her mind. I appreciate her little obedient spirit so much. Ivy nearly always corrects us if we forget a prayer at meal-time. Thanks for keeping us on the right track, little miss Ivy! We love you.

wants.....

I am in the process of decorating my bedroom, and desperately want lamps like this, without having to pay $180. Can you blame me? So pretty. Don't worry...I am on the hunt!

Easter Festivities

I thought I'd take a break from eating jelly beans to post about our Easter weekend. We started out the festivities with an Egg Hunt with some of our friends. Porter didn't quite get the hang of it, and spent the first few minutes ticked off that I made him put his first egg in the basket (actually it was a Wal-Mart bag becuase I forgot to bring the baskets). But before long he got the hang of it.

Ivy was a pro right from the start!

We set Ivy loose with a TON of hard-boiled eggs, and she was totally in her element. She is quite the creative kid, and had lots of fun coloring them. I guess I only took pictures of the "before" eggs. But look how excited she was!

The kids got all sorts of fun goodies in their Easter Baskets, but the big hits were the sunglasses. It just cracks me up to see Porter wearing them. He is so funny.

John's sister Gloria came with Andrew, Kris and Jaclyn to spend a long weekend, and we had lots of fun with them. They each dyed a few eggs too :) My kids were thouroughly entertained the whole time they were here (as was I!). Thanks guys!
