Update on life

For all of the people who want to know what Nate, he is doing really good. I have gotten a letter and a call from him and that made me so happy. He sounds really happy and is loving basic as much as anyone can. He has been there a month so only a month to go until I see him. As to my life not much new in it but I did go to the state fair last night. I can only say it was interesting. I went with some friends from high school that live by my parents. We were meeting other people that I have never heard of down there and I did not find out until we got there that it was a singles ward activity. You can imagine how weird it was for me. The best part of the whole night was going down this big yellow slide with the other fifteen people. Some how my elbow got pushed down so it got dragged along the plastic slide. I now have a big spot on my elbow that kills when I bump it since I have no skin there. Well it was fun.

A super fun weekend

I had the wonderful opportunity to help my mom tend Avery and Boston on Saturday. I had so much fun with them. I can't believe how smart and funny they are. I just love all of Avery's poses and Boston's little looks. After that day I have so much more respect for people with more than one kinds. Even between my mom and I we still had a hard time keeping up. I also had my mom dye my hair. It was a new experience to have some one who tells you I hope I did that right after you have been sitting there with permanent hair dye on. It looks really good so thanks mom for the help. Later that night I went out with a bunch of people from work to a dueling piano bar down town. It was so much fun to hear all the songs these guys can play. I know they have the music in front of them but the range and how fast they can figure out how to play the stuff is amazing.

Look how good he looks

It has been almost a week since I got a great surprise. I was sitting around on Sunday night and I got a call from the bishop at the base Nate is at. He wanted my email so he could send me pictures. I know this is stupid but just being able to see what he looks like is helping so much. I have not talked to him yet but I still love seeing him. I freaked out and had prints ordered with in minutes of getting the email. Time is going a lot faster then I thought it would. It has only been a week but that just means seven more weeks to go. The other people in the picture I think are the other LDS members or the ones who picked to go to that meeting. Who know but I like to think of them as his friends.

Good bye hubby

After many month of Jen telling me that I needed to start blogging I am finally going to try. I will do my best to keep every one in the family up to date on my very boring life. Well today was just tons of fun as many of you know today was the day Nate left for his basic training. I was very excited to find out that his plane did not leave until later in the morning because I am in no way a morning person and I wanted to be happy when he left. Well I got them there and on time I was really good in my mind that I didn't cry until he was out of the car. Well just my great luck that as I was driving out of the airport I got pulled over. I was crying and not paying attention to how fast I was going. In my defence I was going just as fast as every one else so why I was the one pulled over is beyond me. Well the cop came up and gave me a look of pity that my eyes were red and I could not stop crying. To my surprise she was really nice and did not give me a ticket but I felt really dumb trying to talk over my hiccups. After that I came home cried more and felt much better. Nate called me when he reached Texas and he got there just fine and is really excited about everything that he is going to do. I am so proud of him and can't wait to see him. I just wanted to say thank you to every one in the family for all your interest and support. We are so lucky to have such an terrific family.

Nate's birthday

Since it is Nate's birthday today but he had school we celebrated it early. Over the week end we went to the hockey games. The first game we went to was Pink on the Rink, which is in support of breast cancer. The ice is pink and the player's wear pink Jerseys. I would have to say it is one of the best games to go to. We sat on the third row and the best part is the Grizzles won by one point in a shot out. The next night we went back to the Veterans game which was really great but they did lose that night. We both love hockey and this seemed like a great birthday gift. Then yesterday we went out to dinner to his favorite restaurant Rodizzo. We had a fun night out stuffing our face.

Halloween

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post but this one is a good one. It was Halloween night and Nate just had to wear his costume. Most of you know that Nate has been working on a Proton pack well it was done in time for Halloween. I don't think any one else can say they married a bigger nerd.

New Tables

After using eight bottles of spay paint which includes our primer and top coat we are done with our kitchen table. It did take some patience and lots of coasts of paint but I think our table looks very good. I will have to say it was a lot of fun for me and Nate to do together and a learning experience. Just a tip for anyone who tries this do not use spray paint even though it sounds a lot faster. On another subject all together I have been looking for some table for my house to put right as you walk in. Yesterday I went with Joy, Nate's cousin's wife to ikea to look for some other things and I found what I wanted. Joy turned me on to the "as is" section at ikea where I found the two small black tables that fit perfect. The best part of it all is they were only forty dollars for the both of them. I had been looking and had thought I was going to spend over a hundred for what I wanted but this was a very great surprise. I feel this is a great step in making this Nate and I a home.
