This is a long over due post....
I know, but I feel like I am almost
caught up with blogging.
There are just a few more milestones
and adventures I need to post
about before I forget!!

Brookelyn is in Kindergarten now
and absolutely loves it!!

She registered on 08.10.10
and went to her first back
to school party on this day as well.

08.18.2010 was her first day of school.
Her teacher is Miss Gardner and she is wonderful!!

Brookelyn and Miss Gardner

On Brookelyn's first day of school,
we were staying at my parents house
because our house was not ready for us
to move into. So needless to say,
we had to commute for a couple of days.
Waking up extra early to get to school on time
because of the time change was kind of difficult
but we managed to do it.

Her back to school outfit laid out right before bed like her dad and I used to do.

I was able to go in Brookelyn's class
and see how she interacted with the
other students on the first day.
She went right to her desk and started coloring,
right after she wrote her name on her paper.
She was very comfortable and acted like
she had been going to school for months.
She has been so ready for school to start,
she is extremely excited about learning!!

First day of school!!

It was very hard for her dad and I
to drop her off and drive away.
On the way home as we drove away
from the elementary,
Nate and I shed a few tears...
our little girl is getting so big
and we cannot believe how fast she is growing up!!

In front of her classroom after her first day!!

It seems like yesterday
we brought her home from the hospital.
We are so proud of her and the amazing
little lady she is turning into.
We love her very much!!

We finally were able to bless our precious little boy.

We wanted to have our families
here with us for such a special occasion
and so we have prolonged doing it
because we were living in Colorado for the summer
and now we are finally settled in a new home.

So over the Thanksgiving break
we finally did it,
we felt it was the most perfect time!!

We did it in a more personal setting,
in our home.
It was very nice and most
of our family member's were able to make it.

(Dustyn, Kyla, Heather, Parker, Shaylee, Daniel, Alyssa, Lori, Elise, Nate, Trey, Britney, Kru, Brookelyn, Danielle, Brianne, Matt, Shellene and Moses)

(Troy, Kizzy, Chloe, Kelvin, Trey, Nate, Kru, Britney, Brookelyn, Tel, Tanzee, Jeremy, Rigz and Kelsha)

Kru Holt Johnson
was blessed by his father Nathan
who did an amazing job.

I loved seeing my husband hold our infant
in his arms and give him a blessing.
It truly is a beautiful sight.

Kru was blessed with health, strength,
love, safety and the privilege of someday finding a
beautiful young woman to take to the temple
to be sealed for time and all eternity with.
It was a beautiful blessing!

The wonderful men who stood in the circle.

(Brother Hendrix, Daniel, Kelvin, Moses, Kru and Nate, Dustyn and Matt)

Kru looked so handsome in his white suit
and he was very reverent during his blessing.

We love our little Kru man so much
and are truly thankful and
feel so blessed to have
such an amazing perfect
little being in our family.

I can't help but think
that not so long ago
he left our Heavenly Father's presence
to be with us and that our
Heavenly Father trusts
Nate and I enough to care for,
love unconditionally and raise this little guy
the way he would want us to.
What a blessing and a privilege!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!!

We were very excited
to have all of Nate's family come
to our home and celebrate it with us!!

We had a fun-filled week of
shopping, golfing, resting,
eating, running,
cooking,
watching lots of football,
going to the movie "Tangled",
playing games and shopping some more.

This year it was mine and Nate's turn
to plan Thanksgiving,
so needless to say,
I was a bit stressed and overwhelmed...
but we couldn't have asked it to turn
out any better than it did.

I was in charge of the Turkey this year
so with a lot of help from my mother-in-law
and some words of advice from my mom,
my first turkey turned out pretty darn good!!

We had a splendid feast
of Turkey, gravy, rolls, stuffing,
mashed potato's, cranberry sauce,
green bean casserole,
corn, strawberry jam,
pomegranate salad, green salad
and a variety of scrumptious pies
( apple, chocolate oreo, razzleberry,
banana cream, pumpkin and a red velvet cake).

The table was decorated with name tags for all
placed on the front of a pine cone
(courteous of Nate and Moses)
while they were golfing
they gathered some cones for me.

Little Kru man had a yummy first feast as well
of baby food
(sweet potato's, applesauce,
mashed potato's and gravy from my plate).

We loved having everyone here with us this year.
We are so THANKFUL
for each of you and your love, support,
willingness to help, kindness and generosity...
you are all amazing and we love you very much!!

Thank you for making
Thanksgiving at our home so SPECIAL!!

HaPpY 6th BirThDaY BaBy giRL!!

11.02.10

Our little girl turned 6 years old today!!
I cannot believe how fast she is growing up!!
It is so fun to see her getting older,
but at the same time it breaks my heart because she is that much closer to
becoming a young lady and no longer a little girl!

The morning started off with Kindergarten...
yes she is in Kindergarten (that is another post).
She wanted donuts and chocolate milk for her classroom party.
Here is the birthday girl in her classroom.

After school we baked her favorite cupcakes....
and took them around to friends!!

Later that evening, we went to feed the ducks.
Brookelyn almost got ran over by the flock
of geese and ducks that she was feeding.

After our run in with the ducks...
we went to Fiesta fun center where she,
Trey and her dad rode the bumper boats....

and drove the race cars/ bumper cars...
she had a blast!!

As a birthday tradition,
Brookelyn got to pick what she wanted for dinner that night...
and she chose
her favorite......
..........
a bean and cheese burrito
at the one and only
Dell Taco!!!

What a great night celebrating as a family!!

11/05/10

Brookelyn had a birthday party with her friends and cousins that
following Friday.
She was so excited all week for her party,
she could not stop talking about it!!

For her birthday,
all of the kids made a car out of a box
and got to decorate it.
They were all so creative....
there were seat belts, steering wheels,
speedometers and very colorful, glittery cars!!
They all did such a great job decorating their boxes!!
When they were through,
we had them come inside for a drive in movie.
They parked their cars on the front room floor
and were served popcorn, pizza and punch
while they watched
"Princess and the frog".

After the show, we sang
"Happy Birthday"
and Brookelyn blew out her candle.

Then she opened her presents
as everyone ate cake and ice cream.

Brookelyn received a lot of great gifts
and had a wonderful birthday,
especially because she got to celebrate it
with her friends and cousins!!

(Nicole, Katie, Brookelyn, Kezney, Tanzee, Camryn, Kaylee, Jasmine, Andrew, Decker, Gracee, Kaden and Trey)

Happy Birthday Princess...
we love you so much and we feel so blessed
to have you in our lives!!
You are such an amazing little girl
and you bring our family so much joy!!

BrookIeS 1st PrImArY PrOGrAm

Today our little girl had her very first Primary Program
where she had a part and memorized it.
She did such a great job
her mom and dad are so proud of her!!
Her part was " I can serve my family
by obeying my mom and dad".
The program was wonderful, it even made me cry.
Grandpa and Grandma Johnson and
Aunt Elise & Alyssa were all in attendance.
Thanks, Grandma & Grandpa, Elise & Alyssa
for coming all this way for Brookelyn.
Good Job Brookelyn,
we can't wait for the Christmas program!!
