12 days of Christmas crafts

This year we made 12 crafts for the 12 days of Christmas. It was a lot of fun, and Logan and Taylor were a lot more into it than I expected. Kendall loved every second of it, but I knew she would! 1. Fingerprint lights 2. Snowmen ornaments 3. Christmas stickers 4. Christmas tree button decorations 5. Handprints Christmas trees 6. Fingerprints candy canes 7. Glowing snowmen milk jugs 8. Handprints Santas 9. Handprints snowmen ornaments 10. Marshmallow snowmen 11. Frosting Christmas trees 12. Footprints snowmen Not too bad for a not-so-crafty mom, huh? Thank you, Pinterest!

Trip to Maryland

We were very fortunate to be able to make the trip to Maryland for Thanksgiving this year again. And in addition, we were able to stay long enough to celebrate Luc's birthday. Two for one! Thanksgiving dinner was a success! Yummy food. Great company. And Logan was such a good helper! He helped wash the food and even cleaned the turkey. I am so glad we made the 45 minutes drive from my parents' house to go to Café Rio. I crave that food every.single.day. Mark my words: one day, I'm going to own a Café Rio, if we don't already live by one. The kids had so much fun going to visit the Firefighter Station and checking out the train. And they had a blast jumping in the inflatable castle at Luc's party. Luc is such a sweet boy! We sure wish we lived closer so that we could play with him more often.

Preschool Field Trip

Fall! My favorite season! (Except that I always dread what comes next.) Cypress organized a Field Trip at a local pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago. So I ditched Kendall at a friend's house, and took Logan and Taylor to the pumpkin patch. It was fun to see Miss Julie outside of the school setting. We also had a good time with our friends Ben and Azelynn, who are also friends from church.

I love this picture. I love even more that it was spontaneous. They did this on their own, without anyone asking or forcing them to do it. Aren't they all so adorable?

Halloween 2013

Billy's schedule has been crazy, and I was afraid that we would have to carve our pumpkins, one of our favorite traditions, without him. But thankfully, we found some time one evening to do this together, as a family. Logan and Taylor loved it, like they did last year. Kendall... meh... She like the finished product more than the labor.

I was also afraid that we would have to attend the ward's Trunk-or-Treat without Billy. But lo and behold, he came home in time for it. We missed half on the chili dinner before, but we made it for the Trunk-or-Treat. Kendall was so excited that when it was all over, and we stopped to chat with some friends, she handed her bucket to Chase and yelled "Trick or Treat?!?!" He didn't even have any candy!

On Halloween day, it rained almost all day. But I had promised the kids we would go Trick-or-Treating, rain or shine. So when Billy came home that night, we went out into the rain to beg for candy. We were just going to stop by a few houses, but the kids were having such a great time that we just kept going, and going, and going. We came home with their buckets full. With all their candies added, I think we got twice as much candy as we handed out. Nice work, Trick-or-Treaters!
