Trip to Maryland

We have been traveling to Maryland for Thanksgiving for the past 4 years (I think), so this year was no exception. Of course, our route was a little different. Instead of driving 7 hours, we flew for 5. But once you add the drive to the airport, having to be there early, and the connection, it feels like a lot longer than it really is. Our first flight was a little after midnight, and we didn't get to Baltimore until 9 AM, with a 2-hour time difference and a connection in Chicago. The kids were all great little travelers, though. I was really proud of them. And then, once we got to Baltimore... Surprise, surprise... Fred, Marie, Luc, and Aria were there waiting for us. It meant a lot to us that they got up early, got the kids ready, and drove to the airport, parked in the busy parking lot, and walked a long way to see us. All on Thanksgiving Day AND Luc's birthday. And then they met us at Bon-Papa and Bonne-Maman's house until it was time for them to go to Thanksgiving dinner with Marie's family. It was a lot of fun, but we all went to bed before 9 PM that night. I was exhausted! The kids had had a couple of hours of sleep before we left, but I hadn't, not really. And William had slept some, too, because he can sleep anytime and anywhere, even at 7 PM and even on an airplane. I'm so glad the kids slept on the airplane, too.

The following day we went on The Polar Express. Great idea, Marie! It was a fun family activity to cross off of our bucket list. It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience that none of us will ever forget. The kids loved to ride the train, drink hot chocolate, eat a cookie, and meet Santa. And the weather was amazing! I would also like to point out that it was my idea to get all the cousins matching jammies. Hehe.

The cousins had such a great time together. Luc followed Kendall everywhere, and Kendall followed Aria everywhere. I'm so glad they all played so well together.

The following day was Luc's birthday party. The balloons were a huge hit. So was the food and the games. We were so happy to be there to celebrate Luc. He is one sweet and adorable boy. I am pretty darn lucky to be his godmother. There was only one minor accident that day... Logan's eye blew up! We think he had an allergic reaction to the dog, even though he's never had an allergic reaction to dogs before. One we gave him some Benadryl, his eye stopped itching and came back to normal.
The night we also went to the Fire Station for their annual train display. The kids love to push all the buttons and see what they do.

We had a great time and created awesome memories. Until next time...
