We have a little system in place that we've been using for a while now. It helps the kids to be held accountable for their behavior, good or bad. Well, Kendall earned enough coins to go somewhere fun. She decided to go to As You Wish and paint some pottery items. I think they turned out really well. And it was fun for me to go with her. We chatted, connected, and had a lot of fun. I love my little mini-me. We butt heads sometimes, but she really does love me, and I love her.

The North Pole Experience
We went to the North Pole! We really, really, really did! We drove up to Flagstaff, got on a special bus that took us through a portal (we could only get through by showing our Christmas spirit- and we knew we got through because of the wonderful technology of a special screen showing us the portal that our human eyes couldn't see). Once we arrived, a very nice elf allowed us to go into Santa's workshop. Then Santa called and asked the elf for more help because they were running behind. So the kids got to help and be elves for the day.
Waiting to get on the bus.
The toys display room.
The compass.
Dressing the stuffed animals and testing the shooting guns.
The wrapping room.
Cookies and melted snowman soup with Mrs. Claus.
Elf education, including learning a new song.
The mail room, where the kids got to write a letter to Santa telling him what they want for Christmas.
The spy room... where they watch kids to see if they're naughty or nice.
Santa's Sleigh.
SANTA!!!
Our beautiful tree...
Thanksgiving
Oh, man, Thanksgiving was fun! We actually had a mostly-non-traditional lunch with Paul and his family. Steak, beans, carrots, potatoes-au-gratin, Texas Roadhouse rolls, apple pie, and a reserved pumpkin pie, where the pumpkin filling is on the bottom and the crust on top (very unusual but delicious). Paul got mad because he overcooked the steak, but it was still delicious. He's so hands-on with cooking. I just bought my rolls from Texas Roadhouse. Haha. And the potatoes-au-gratin were super easy to make. Bam! And I bought the pie from Kneaders. Boom!
I wanted to do more than just eat, so we had photo booth props, a chalk tablecloth to write what we're thankful for on, and we played some Minute-to-win-it games, including:
Find My Pecan: Kai v. Kendall (W)
Shake Your Tail Feathers: Eli v. Kendall (W)
Potato roll: Nathalie v. Leilani (W)
Gobbler Gauntlet: Taylor v. Luke (W)
Turkey Baster Race: Eli v. Taylor (W)
Pluck the Turkey: Kai v. Logan (W)
For dinner, we did the whole traditional thing as a family. We also put away all the Fall/Thanksgiving decorations and put up the Christmas tree. It was a good day.
